This one's going to hurt for a long time. I've been rather depressed today, playing out scenes from the finale in my mind.

As much as Opie's death was a tragedy, and as much as it upset me, I was able to accept and rationalize it to a degree. Opie made all his amends before going to prison, knowing he'd probably have to die to protect Jax.

But Tara? She'd just finally gotten what she wanted - something of a guarantee for the safety of her children.

I think tv event to upset me this much was
Rita's death
in Dexter.

The reason Rockmond was offed was because he got a role in something else.

Anyway, that was a fucking brutal end. Tara's demise was gruesome! Gemma needs to fucking die. Horribly. I don't think there's a more detestable character on tv right now. Glad Nero is done with her. Are they really gonna try and pin it on Jax? It makes no sense whatsoever. The bullets wouldn't match for a start.

The murder weapons used on Tara are also gone, so it won't make sense that Jax did the murders, removed the evidence, and then stuck around. Especially since he just made that deal with the prosecutor and Tara. He now has no reason to turn himself in but the fact that he carried a gun around is a parole violation that should probably give him some prison time in the final season

My guess is the final season ends with the whole club going down in some RICO thing and Jax either dies or testifies. Gemma has to die though.

Same, the show is fucking trash now, contrived shit and I just want it to end.

Oh fucking really Gemma just happens to be at Tara's house, why the fuck would Gemma even think she would be at home, as she was in hiding trying to do deals. ugh.

So now Gemma teller has killed Jax Teller's father and now the mother of his son, next season all she has left to do is kill the remaining Teller family members.

Maybe to catch Jax there and tell him to go on the run? But she could have gone to the clubhouse of course...

I absolutely loved it, I knew Gemma was going to kill her the second they told her Jax was going to jail.

I REALLY hope they don't try and pin it on Jax, it would be so fucking stupid. You can tell from the look on her face she is going to though, so that sucks.

Overall a really solid season.

I doubt it'll take long for them to pick up new roles, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they work on next.

WHEN DID SUTTER DECIDE ELI HAD TO GO?
“When he became a series regular on The Mentalist,” joked Sutter. “That’s only half true.” The whole truth is that in writing the scene, Sutter realized that Patterson would not have left Tara alone and would have given her a police escort. So in the end, logic won out. “It happened organically,” he says.

I guess he's doing that?

Didn't care for the finale. It was boring until the end and I just don't have any feelings for Tara.

They took her to a dark place this season. She used to be the normal one that gave the show some link to the "normal" world. We lost that in her with this custody battle.

I just caught up. I don't even....
Fuck Unser, fuck Gemma, fuck Sutter.

But by the time the next season starts, I'll forget all of this and keep watching it.

He's been in the last few episodes of The Mentalist, which is one of my favourite shows so I'm glad we picked him up.

Holy fuck at that finale.

Gemma killing Tara has to be one of the more brutal scenes in that show....and that's saying a lot. How did anyone not see that coming though? Wayne? Jax when he talked to Wayne? They both should have put two and two together and figured what Gemma might have done knowing what she thought she knew.

Did anyone else notice at the beginning, in Jax's letter when he said terror or terrified, it emphasized the Tara part of the word? Maybe I was hearing things, but I swear I was picking up on that in that monologue.

Where do they go from here? They left it pretty open for everything to come to light. I imagine accusations will fly before it all does. I'm not sure if Juice got done cleaning the scene, or if he did a proper job of it if he did finish. I'm surprised Gemma didn't realize she had to run with or without Juice, but she said earlier in the episode that she couldn't.

It's going to be hard to wait for the final season....on top of all that internal stuff, we've got a war with the Mayans brewing! Ain't nothing ever good for the Sons.

What is the point of Juice other than once you think he's the ultimate sub-human piece of shit, he become even more of that?

I really used to like this show, but it's questionable plotting has unraveled the show after six seasons.

I'm so desensitized with the absurd violence of the show that practically none of the major deaths this season have had any effect like Opie's death had on me. I've moved toward apathy for the show now, which makes me not want to bother with the final season. Lame.

Juice is interesting because he took a dark turn when he was being blackmailed and wrongly thought there was no one in the club who would fend for him. Turns out Jax would have, but Jax was clearly not his benefactor. He turned him into that sub-human piece of shit by forcing him to do things that only someone like Tig or Happy could have handled. Juice obviously couldn't take it which is why we saw him trying to act colder than he really is all season as if he had a death wish.

He and Gemma both had an out in that situation. He took it because he knew he was pretty much done with the club. He'll either disappear or they'll kill him next season.

I hope they don't decide to artificially extend it on this news...it's already wearing pretty thin as it is.

Season 7 Gemma kill Jax, to make sure to keep the club is kept alive.

Hehe. Legit guess. The homeless woman will kill Gemma or Jax. I originally thought Sutter showing her every so often as social commentary on how the homeless are often invisible to everyone around them, but I'm almost positive he'll throw a curve ball...

Can't see Gemma dying or getting killed next season either.

Her machinations is probably going to see her end up as a persona non grata to the Sons at some point (if there all around by the end) In fact her getting Wendy cleaned up so she can be used as a pawn, will probably backfire on her as she'll probably get 100% clean and focused and get to bring those boys up far far away from both the sons and Gemma. With Jax's blessing.

That would be a more damming punishment for Gemma than her getting killed.

I'm more interested in how they'll handle Juice, guy went from one of the more likeable characters to a weak willed pussy. I can understand why, the pressure he was put under would have been immense but if the sons were his brothers they would have helped him as he found out when he finally fessed up. They know pressure from law enforcement is always ongoing in there line of work, but workable. Ratting out your bros, bad move.

Too late though he'd already done too much shit to go back. He'll be a wildcard next season he knows his a dead man at the club so will be interesting to see how he'll be used.

Just watched the finale, idontknowwhatiexpected.jpg

For some reason I get the impression that Kurt Sutter really loves his work. I don't know what's more annoying, the constant posing or the overlong montages. Overall a weak season and an unsurprising finale.
CCH Pounder and Jimmy Smits deserve better than this.

Has Sutter (or anyone else) ever talked about why every episode has at least one melodramatic montage in it? They don't ruin the show for me, but isn't the convention obviously pretty painful at this point?

The show is ridiculous and often very bad. But I'm still having fun. I'll watch the 7th.

I haven't watched since season 3. I decided to pop in this thread to see whats going on. It sounds like it turned into a day time soap opera with motorcycles and guns?

Wow, what an amazing ending. There were a few cringe worthy moments (like the make out session between Jax and Tara in the hotel room) but overall a really enjoyable episode. Obviously I knew that Gemma would go after Tara once she took Unser's car, but the way it went down and the fact that Juice killed Eli was really shocking.

How come Unser didn't realize she was going after Tara when Gemma stole his car? That part seemed very far fetched - Unser has been on top of the "cop-sense" the entire series, and this time he falls down? Come on.

And if they try and pin Tara and Eli's death on Jax there are MANY reasons why it would be possible. The bullets in Eli won't match his gun. The time of death won't match. Jax actually has an alibi. But why would they specifically pan to the gun after showing Eli's body? I find it hard to believe they are going to pin Jax with a gun charge on top of the other stuff he's done - seems like it wouldn't make much of a difference in his sentence, but that gun was purposefully placed next to the body, and specifically pointed out, so there's a reason for it.

The homeless woman at the end was interesting. My initial thought was that she heard a motorcycle pulling away and will direct the cops to the murder weapon, which has Gemma's prints on it. Maybe that's taking the scene too literally, though....

Jax is definitely going to kill Gemma in S7, and it's going to be glorious.

Nero is going to track down Juice. He knows Juice is responsible for the Mom's death, and he's going to get revenge now that he's back in the game with Alvarez. I have a feeling Juice is going to die very painfully next season.

No. She has appeared many times throughout the series. Giving Jax a blanket when he slept in the cemetary after Donna got killed, when Gemma giving her money, etc. We still don't know where Sutter is going with the homeless lady and what she represents. The only thing that we know of her was revealed that she may be the missing mother of the girl who smash the ice cream shop window.

finally caught up

this is slipping into the following territory of bad things being piled on people and characters acting dumb/irrationally to allow them to happen.

Yeah, I know. So you think it's completely inconceivable that she will be the one to identify a member of the Sons as the killer of the police chief and someone in WitSec? I don't know if Sutter has the foresight to weave a metaphor throughout the whole series with her, but maybe he'll prove me wrong.

Not really, but this was the penultimate season so things are getting crazy and major characters are getting offed.

The homeless woman is clearly
a manifestation of death. She commonly appears around places associated with death, takes a form of someone the club killed (the mother of the girl who broke their window), and manifests either before or after a major character death.

IMO.

Every scene in SOA summed up in one sentence.

Two people talk about something bad that happened, when a third person interrupts the conversation with worse news.

Overall this is a bad show that appeals to weekend warriors. The show has never successfuly created true moments of impact because its just a constant succession of highs. I honestly can't think of any defining moment from each season, because anything huge that happened was conveniently swept under the rug or overshadowed by something worse. Tara's death is no (blank) and Juice/Gemma are certainly not (you know who). SOA is a weekend warrior doing its best to be The Shield. But it's not and never will.
