I guess sony gotta find ways to make the premium tier attractive. Did we really need 3 tiers though? It should have been just ps plus basic and ps plus premium.
2 hour intros to be standard on all buggy as shite games confirmed.I think I like it, 2 hours should give the consumer a good window of gameplay to know if the game is for them or not.
Then again, i am not going to be paying for the top tier.
I wonder. According to Phill Spencer Game Pass effect game sales positively...SoSurely this could effect games sales massively?

If your game is 4 hours, you might want to lock more content.Isn’t this piss easy , just put a 2 hour limit once you start the game?! Why is this extra work?
With 3 tiers they can now say they have a more "diverse offering" than the competition offering their fans "more choices".I guess sony gotta find ways to make the premium tier attractive. Did we really need 3 tiers though? It should have been just ps plus basic and ps plus premium.
potentially in a positive way, as someone said - the people who pay for the highest tier are more likely to convert because they are the core audience.Surely this could effect games sales massively?
I get that, but a $40 AA or VR game may now be $34 to avoid try before you buy.I don't think devs will halve their game price just to avoid sonys policy.

So you can play just the first hour for 2 hours total or something.
But this is the biggest issue:
I love the trials as I get vertigo easy and this will let me see if that happensI think I like it, 2 hours should give the consumer a good window of gameplay to know if the game is for them or not.

Game Pass games ARE the full games. Right?Game pass doesn’t off all games having a 2 hour demo window if its not on gamepass.
OK.lets say a new game comes out, a lot of people preorder, a lot of people buy day one.
OK.People will now just play the 2 hour demo and see how it is.
or don't.Ie: hurt sales
yer, i think it would be better across the board.I love the trials as I get vertigo easy and this will let me see if that happens
It sucks you have to pay the top tier pricing for these trials

Imagine something like Cyberpunk releasing with a game trial on the biggest videogame console...lmao.Surely this could effect games sales massively?
Game Pass games ARE the full games. Right?
OK.
OK.

Phill Said that game pass increases game sales. (sus to me but whatever).
Or...don't release games that suck?Game pass doesn’t off all games having a 2 hour demo window if its not on gamepass.

That's a fair point, didn't know there were many games at that price point.I get that, but a $40 AA or VR game may now be $34 to avoid try before you buy.
It depends.
Bad game = less sales
Good game = more sales
Or...don't release games that suck?
It goes both ways. Something like this would've done wonders for games like Guardians of the Galaxy
Again you are using his words badly, yes he said gamepass increases sales.
This is completely different and you know it.
NOT EVERY NEW GAME HAS A 2 HOUR DEMO ON GAMEPASS
there you go made it clearer for you
3 month window post release is when Dev's use to fix bugs and create patches for their game aka developing finish their games. They have 3 months to release a demo after release. They should be fine.
3 month window is when Dev's use to fix bugs and create patches for their game.
I love how you know so much about the game development process.
I'm not a stock holder...everything you say is positive for you a consumer. If you had this trial option you wouldn't spend money on God of War...a game you didn't enjoy.Again its down to taste when you say games that suck.
For me God of war and I just dont gel. I can see its high production values but i dont like the game. I bought it and fair enough i dont like it, if i had the 2 hour trial they would never of got my money.
on the other hand i love the Spider-Man game but you may not, its all down to taste and with the 2 hour demo there’s a chance it can impact sales both positivly and negatively

Somewhere out there is a person that never played God of War that would have tried it and bought it right after the trial is over.
I see no bad thing for us consumers...
OkAgain you are using his words badly, yes he said gamepass increases sales.
Obviously is different, duhThis is completely different and you know it.
But EVERY game pass game is the FULL game (new or old).NOT EVERY NEW GAME HAS A 2 HOUR DEMO ON GAMEPASS
Thanks.thmakeyou go made it clearer for you
Ok
Obviously is different, duh
But EVERY game pass game is the FULL game (new or old).
PSPremium and Game Pass are paid services = (not every one is going to have the benefits of the services).
Now. Let say that Every NEW 60+$ dollar game is on Game Pass.. Does Phil Spencer statement magically dosen't apply?..How convenient.
Thanks.
It's not good. Just like it's not good for us to have to deal with bullshit trailers for 3 years and then having to deal with disappointing games that are released for 60 / 70 dollars or euros.Agreed but as a company forcing this ain’t a great thing on developers is it?
we can at least agree on that lol
And Game Pass/PSPremium are not FREE services. But they ain’t so……..?
There's a reason why demos had sometimes special content that you wouldn't see in the game. It's a 2-hour countdown and then lock the game
I doubt that's difficult
That wasn't the point of my post either
This is likely to avoid any back/forth that might need to happen — avoid any customer support calls asking why my refund hasn't posted yet, etc etc. Just a guess. I know Steam does it. But does it really matter since you get to try it out regardless?Ughhh how about just give your customers the right to return the game if they haven't played for more than 2 hours?
There's a reason why demos had sometimes special content that you wouldn't see in the game.
Demo's are typically a "taste of everything and a tease of what's to come".
The first 2 hours of a game aren't always ideal for those purposes.
First 2 hours of any AssCreed game will get you awful story, boring gameplay and a little bit of fun.
A "first 2 hours" is a weird mandate, it's not as simple as you've stated. Developers don't design their first 2 hours of a 10-20 hour game to have all the elements or fun parts in it.
It's like if Netflix implemented a FIRST 20 MINUTES of EVERY SINGLE MOVIE RELEASING mandate, the first 20 minutes of a movie doesn't give you a great idea sometimes of what the movie is about.
Issue there is people like me have no interest in paying for old games and streaming.I guess sony gotta find ways to make the premium tier attractive. Did we really need 3 tiers though? It should have been just ps plus basic and ps plus premium.
