I don't think 10's were handed out like candy last gen. So uncharted or Tlou have candy 10's? Of course not ...
Exactly so output of the studios is the matter. We had 4 naughty dog full games last gen. 3 MM games ... If we assume 2020 is the PS5 year we don't have enough first party studio games to the end. They said because of ps4 architecture making games are easier this gen but we see ps3 had better output ...
This post contains many misconceptions and pet peeves I see infiltrated too much nowadays from users who make hay out of nothing, so let's go over a few points:
1) The first and most important thing is reliance to scores. It just shows me that people don't read reviews and don't judge games based on things outside of numbers.
You put three MLB The Show games on the PS3 list. Can you tell me why you think the PS4 ones are of lesser quality, or are you just looking at the scores?
2) PS4 is easier to develop for, but the PS3 gen's games were smaller. Uncharted 4 was the first new game from Naughty Dog this gen and is far larger in scope than any of the PS3 Uncharted games. Uncharted 1 was inflated by waves of enemies, less grand set pieces and less work in general. It scored in the high 80s; it would NOT score close to Horizon Zero Dawn (also in the high 80s) if released now.
A PS4 AAA game will take more resources, more manpower, than a PS3 game, regardless of the fact that the PS3 was difficult to develop for.
3) Horizon Zero Dawn is a more ambitious game than Killzone 2 and 3, yet Guerrilla has already produced the same amount of games as last gen despite the grander scale. Even if their only game was Horizon (and it's not), that's more content than both of those Killzone campaigns. There's more to gaming than amount of games.
4) Excluding games for "reasons" ("I'm not including Bloodborne because it wasn't fully made by Sony Japan") is a usual video game board meme that's annoying and produces bad conversation. Bloodborne exists because Sony approached From Software and helped to publish and produce it. And humorously enough, it's one of my favorite games this gen yet came out a little over a year after the PS4 released.
5) What's with this video game message board obsession with comparing the time within a gen to the amount of games released? "Man, we already had two Uncharteds at this point." Yeah, we have two right now... and I'd take 4 and TLL over 1 - 3 as I only put 2 on the same level as the PS4 ones (though with gameplay that's not as good), but hey, at least you get the undercooked Uncharted 1, and since that makes three games, I guess that's better?
