Soul Calibur V goes gold - New Vids, Screens

Your implication that mature women have large breasts and teens have small breasts. Made me laugh.

They look like teenagers in general. Also, they usually do put small breasts on teenaged girls in games. Real life is obviously very different, except in Australia where all small breasted women are apparently under aged.

If they look like teenagers, it isn't because of their cup size.

Batteries the CRISIS!
Technically Ivy is the only Adult female...well her and Hilde but she wears armor. Sp technically Namco is being realistic this time...

but it's funny that now there isn't enough boobs( and lets be honest there is never enough boobs) when in IV there was too much (a blasphemous statement).

Still, I guess wait for the last 4 to be revealed.

Talim better make it Namco...otherwise, I'll may not pre-order right now and wait for next week.

Don't tempt me bro.

Tira? Viola? Also, Pyrrha is 20.

Tira? Viola? Also, Pyrrha is 20.

Tira is a demon something something so she doesn't age.

Viola is probably just Amy.

and wat she's 20?

Then again in the wolrd of Anime 20 is still young enough to not be considered old...

I think.

It doesn't really matter in the end does it?

we got 4 more slots for epic boobs then again maybe V is for Manservice?

Yeah, she's 20.

And if Viola is Amy then, barring any "she doesn't age lololol" shenanigans, she'll be in her 30s.

I guess you can kinda say Tira is a teenager because she's a demon who doesn't age, but ... eh.

Anyway, the whole argument that small breasts = teenagers is silly. Plenty of adult women have smaller than D cups. Arguing that the women look younger is a better argument, but I would chalk that up to the art style skewing toward anime, where most women look pretty young regardless of age.

Based on these screens I take it that the character creator is still in the game

I posted a pretty awesome gameplay vid a few pages back that netted one response. Another guy posted some new character vids.
Yup. When they were originally streaming those vids I posted them here and no one cared. Every discussion here turns to tits and/or aesthetics. It's too bad since this, by all accounts (of people who have had *hours* with the game), is shaping up to be the best SoulCalibur ever.

Indeed, I really think it will be. I, personally, think meter management makes everything better. And like I said earlier, every build has been played by really good players, at majors, on streams, and otherwise. There are hours and hours of video out there with really good players. Was it RTD playing Hilde at SCR? That was hot shit. The community is super positive about it, it's going to be at EVO. (I will be at EVO playing this and KoF).

But yeah, tits.

Pretty sad.

One thing I've always loved about the SC series is its music, and this one's sounding like no exception. I recall some YouTube videos of top French players (Viola looks so much fun <3) and the music really got my attention. SO GOOD. Especially the one playing in the Hilde VS Viola one. I can't wait to hear the rest.

Zwei's in-game model is so disappointing. Not only is he the wrong skin tone, but his face is all wrong. It's like it's not even the same character.

I've seen people saying that the character models have been improved in the newest preview builds. There's no direct feed video out of it though, so I don't know if that's true.

Hope this game flops so massive that Namco will be forced to listen its primary customers: males.

Change that 3D modeling, Namco. It's long overdue.

Breasts are more interesting, I guess.

While they are indeed far more interesting, the gameplay vids were great, the game runs super fast and clean. I'm not into the competitive scene for SC much so anything move specific is kinda lost on me.
With the new game though I might start watching that stuff. I'm not that great at SC so I guess it doesn't interest me as much as SF or MK in that regard.

I have a super hard time choosing a main in most fighting games as well. I'll just learn the key moves of a few characters and use whoever, whenever.

I love grapplers and weird characters, so if I had to choose my fave characters they'd be Astaroth, Voldo, Yoshimitsu. I also like "pure/holy" characters, so I really like Sophitia.
I won't like Pyrrah though, she's far too annoying. Sophitia is like a god warrior. A Paladin with very little clothing. I likes that.

I also love corrupted characters, so if Sophi is in the game as an evil last boss or something I'd be all over that.

I've played every Soul game since Soul Edge and for some reason i can't bring myself to give a damn about this game. Something about it just looks bland and tiring.

That's cool, and I appreciate that. I don't mind the tit-talk, really, just...don't like how every thread revolves around it even with all of the great vids out there.

Of course, ads like the one above certainly don't help. :p

Crapping up the special moves SF4 style does the game no favors for me. Not a fan of fighting games that interrupt the flow of the fight with pointless cinematics (DoA5 sounds worse as it will now interrupt the fight with shitty QTEs).

Definitely a bomba purchase for me. Once it hits bargains bins I'm all over that Create a Character mode, but Ultimate Soul Calibur 5 will probably be out by then.

Created for the serious blade-fight enthusiast, nothing replicates the adrenaline-inducing arcade experience better than the Arcade FightStick: SOUL Edition. Approved by Namco and embellished with exclusive SOULCALIBUR V artwork, this officially licensed FightStick utilizes arcade-quality components from legendary Japanese arcade manufacturer, Sanwa Denshi. Compatible with ALL Major Fighting Games, Including:

  • SOULCALIBUR V
  • Street Fighter x Tekken
  • Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
  • King of Fighters XIII
  • Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition

Authentic Japanese-style Joystick & Buttons

B006EJ38X2_scv_stick_x360_01.jpg

This competition-ready SOUL Edition FightStick uses high-quality Sanwa parts, the very same parts that are found in Japanese arcade cabinets. The Sanwa JLF is the standard in high-quality, tournament-grade FightSticks.

8-Button Layout with Multi-Speed Turbo Functionality

B006EJ38X2_scv_stick_x360_02.jpg

Eight Sanwa action buttons help ensure easy access to every strike, kick, guard and combo. Multi-speed Turbo functionality gives two distinct turbo speeds that can be mapped to any one of the action buttons on the FightStick, and these Turbo settings can be monitored on the control panel, and even disabled for tournament play.

Premium-Quality Components with Genuine Namco Noir Layout

The eight-button Namco Noir layout offers a comfortable, ergonomic control scheme, reminiscent of SEGA's classic Astro City configuration. Sanwa OBSF-30 action buttons respond with pinpoint accuracy and can withstand repeated use.

Controller Lock/Unlock Switch

A lock switch on the control panel provides the ability to lock out the use of Turbo functionality and prevents use of the Xbox Guide button. No more accidental pauses or automatic forfeitures in key moments during tournament matches!

3-Way Joystick Switch

A useful three-way switch provides the ability to navigate in-game menus and play games from other genres, including downloadable titles on Xbox LIVE. Easily switch between functionality for the left analog stick, right analog stick, or the default D-Pad setting.

Exclusive Translucent Casing with Blade-Inspired EDGE Bezel and Stainless Steel Screws

B006EJ38X2_scv_stick_x360_04.jpg

With a unique bezel which mimics the weapons used in SOULCALIBUR V, there's no mistaking this FightStick for any other. The translucent casing provides a glimpse into the controller's inner workings, and the stainless steel screws used on the control panel reinforce the sword-themed appearance while retaining their lustrous finish.

Heavy Metal Base

B006EJ38W8_fightstick_foot.jpg

This is no cheap plastic toy; the durable metal base increases the FightStick's weight for a solid, secure feel when draining your foe's life bar. Easily unscrew the rubber feet to securely mount the FightStick to a table or other solid surface.

13 FT USB Cable with Internal Storage

B006EJ38X2_scv_stick_x360_03.jpg

A 13-foot-long controller cable ensures maximum comfort no matter what your gaming setup is. Stash the cable in the internal storage compartment to keep your gaming weapon sleek and ready for travel.

Connects to the Console via Lag-Free USB

Proven in and out of tournament play at the highest levels, the best players from around the globe prefer the FightStick's high-quality wired USB connection over wireless controllers. From World Champion, Daigo “The Beast” Umehara of Team Mad Catz, to many of the top eight players from the EVOLUTION world finals, the Arcade FightStick: SOUL Edition is the obvious choice for casual and competitive gamers alike.

Hell yeah, I've had SC5 pre-ordered for months. Glad I won't have to wait forever to play it like TTT2.

Hope this game flops so massive that Namco will be forced to listen its primary customers: males.

There is a breast size slider in character creation mode. Obviously they're already listening.

What cinematics? You just tack on a canned combo.
