Just to make it clear, I have no issue with that plot point in the game at all. My story issues are the poorly told nature of it in the game first and foremost.

So in a game where you shoot aliens in the space and the story is 5%of the game, seeing this type of content again is a fucking huge red flag

Others say that "S"/Seb is akin to "the stranger" in The King in Yellow and is just a part of Arjuns inner thought, his masked self. Listen to the dialogue of S with that perspective and you'll get a different vibe. Notice he looks at an invisible gun/medallion when the flashing lights come as if he is back in the real world deciding what to do and then S disappears before Arjun stares directly at the player. The same police lights at the alternative ending of the game.


There are different interpretations and it's not that I can't see some thinking he's gay. It's the fact that people are trying to claim their interpretation is somehow cannon and other interpretations headcannon when even the creators are directly saying their thoughts on it is not the case.

Listen, I personally have nothing against gay people. I have known many throughout my time working in a gym back in Spain, and they were great people. Seriously, I never had any issues with any of them, and frankly, they can do whatever they want in the privacy of their own bedrooms.

What I hate is being preached to in video games. I have said this countless times. I do not want to be preached to in a video game, and I do not understand why every game has to include lesbians, non-binary people, and homosexuals. It feels forced and, in a way, like indoctrination. Gay people are supposed to be a minority, and yet they seem to be everywhere. Just watch Netflix and you will see what I am talking about. It is exhausting.

On a side note, there are many games I love, like the Mass Effect Trilogy, that have incredible characters who can be romanced by both male and female Shepard, and that is totally fine. I never even thought about it because that is not what defines them. What defines them are their personalities, well-written stories, and strong dialogue. That is what I want from a video game, and this is why I hate wokeness, because it prioritizes political ideologies and activism over writing compelling stories and characters.

So I hope my position is clear on this matter and why I believe Sony is doing the same with this game, because their track record matches the same pattern

The suit/AI is a corruption of Arjuns mind. She left to do something with her life and pursue a career.

The MC does have an affair and kill his friend to cover it. It is heavily hinted that he had the affair with that same male friend, but I'm not sure if it's ever 100% confirmed im game.

That's not hinted at all though. In fact it's hinted that he sleeps with a woman and that is what you hear in the dialogue in the Banyan tree.

Returnal was amazing and the story was better than I think a lot of people gave it credit for.

It may not have been a structured narrative, and felt like at times it was making it up as it went along but there were a few moments which really stuck with me.

Saros does not sound like its going to appeal in the same way sadly. Compared to the weighty themes of Returnal, Saros sounds like an office drama.

Plus I loved that Returnal was absolute rock hard and made no compromise.
