Technically you are facing the same thing with the 3DS version and the DLC. I know it is optional and all, but even I went through the DLC.On the one hand, I'd buy the shit out of Theatrhythm for iOS. Would be great on the iPad.
On the other, fuckin' IAP.
I don't get why people were happy to pay $30 for Theatrhythm on 3DS, but it's somehow not worth that on iOS. Let's say it's 100% identical to the 3DS version with the same songs built in as part of the purchase price, what about it being on iOS makes it not worth what people paid for it on 3DS?No sure if want, almost all of Square Enix's mobile games are expensive.

It's retail so this price is justified, if it's a digital release, they don't have extra costs to suffer through selling each unit, at least not on android.

The issue isn't with the fact that there will be IAP, but that I'm sure the game it self will be like $5 have a handful of songs and then cost $40+ after all is said and done. This is SE we're talking about.
OK, so that knocks maybe $5 off the price, assuming it would have a really nice, super expensive box and instructions in the retail version. What's the rest of the excuse?
$40 is what I paid for my copy of Theathrythm, not counting DLC. So? Sounds like you're describing a better deal, because you don't have to buy songs you don't like, and if you hate the game you're only out $5.
I'm going to guess DLC.
Picked this up for $15 during BF, havent gotten around to playing it yet though.

As long as there was an ability to buy some sort of peripheral or even if it slipped out of the case somehow, ala Xperia Play, then I would have no qualms whatsoever with the concept of mobile gaming. Virtual control pads are a joke.
The devs said they wanted to make DQ/SaGa Theatrhythm, so hopefully it's either of those. (Preferably SaGa.)

How many games in the franchise?
The title and all the search engine indexing stuff for the page is specifically for Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy, not just Theatrhythm.

Looks like the game is coded in Flash
Isn't it too soon to port it to iOS? The game isn't even a year old. At least FFI-IV and TWEWY were more than 2-3 years old.
