it's available on the 360 store, for what it's worth. (atleast in europe)
Gematsu did a translation from Famitsu on their site that mentioned it in her character bio. She's the only character not designed by Akiman.

Looking at those gifs of SO4 kinda put these HD shots in perspective in that I dont think this is actually a mid-tier budget, or atleast, on the very low end of it, SO4 looks techwise(and maybe artwise, tho too little is seen of SOV to judge) superior, and im gonna venture that SO4 was a mid-tier effort.
I need to see the game in motion and how the characters animate before getting excited about it. I'll keep an eye on this, but I don't know if I can stomach the way the characters look here. Some of the environments look pretty good though.
I dunno I think it's pretty close. The character art style both games are going for doesn't really work in realistic 3D and just looks really off. The characters just look like creepy dolls. :x

5 looks better than 4 with towns looking to be packed with more detail. 4 also had a battle resolution of 500p. If the PS3 version of 5 hits close to 720p in battles then it's automatically going to be the winner out of the two. Tech-wise they're actually really similar.

The characters should have probabaly either been drawn a bit more realistically, or the environments more stylized and cartoonish, cause yeah, that looks like a vista out of a vacation photo or something

Good I hope they redesign her and not go. Well we got some fan feed back that they liked the design so we'll keep it. The outfit actually isn't that bad but even if they just let Akiman tweak the design rather then a full redesign. You know shrink the eyes a litle and generally fix the face...
Lol until HD I was hoping that it was peach/tan fabric. Even in HD some angles looked like skin others looked like possibly fabric then I noticed the extra black "straps"....

I'm very hesitant at this game. This looks like another SO4 shit show. Great combat, and everything else will be mediocre AT BEST.

Tri-Ace did such a great job with Resonance of Fate! I was hoping with this we'd see more of that come over in terms of characters and art style choices.

Star Ocean: The Second Story still stands as their best game back on PS1. How can they not get back on that level with this series? Valkyrie Profile and Resonance also are fantastic IP's from Tri-Ace. Someone at that studio needs to get axed ...

I can understand the character designs not being to people's taste, but hyperbolic posts seem to be the only thing that even really gets posted in response. Just move on if its THAT offensive to one's pallete

Yeah really. I actually like pink haired girl. The art style is fine to me. Much better than SO4. They actually look like anime instead of dolls.
Also we haven't seen anything beyond screens yet. People are so quick to write games off.

So I've been totally misunderstanding the Witch's costume. Based on the previous pics, I thought it was checkered cloth of black and white.
It'd work better that way (with about half the details on her removed as well). Looks designed by commitee.
