I know Daisy/John are new but £300k doesn't seem much for just how big this movie is. I think they deserve more. For the next two movies they definitely need more.
We don't know what the box office cut they get is though. By giving them most of their pay through box office cut Disney is off setting risk and the guys are still getting paid.
Anyway these are probably career making roles. Nobody had heard of these guys before, I bet they'd have done it fit minimum wage. I find it hard to feel sorry for them, they're in an amazing position now.

They're also getting a cut of the box office, as long as it's front end gross they'll be okay. I'm sure they're getting a pay raise for the next two as well. I hope they're lucky enough to get a touch of the merch rights for stuff baring their likeness but given their position most likely not.

He's one of the best paid voice actors in the biz and lives in a huge house in Malibu. I really doubt he worries about his cut in the new Star Wars or his career.

From the stories that hit the media it seems writers get fucked over in these kind of deals more often compared to actors. Especially lead actors that are recognizable and on movie posters of a hit franchise that is practically guaranteed to make more money with future movies.
But then again as you said maybe more actors keep quiet about it to protect their careers.

JJ is going to be the one laughing all the way to the bank... 2% of the film's gross is crazy. Ordinarily that wouldn't seem like so much, but TFA is almost guaranteed to make a couple of billion at the box office.

Well, he might not be as rich as Ford (since voice acting doesn't pay nearly as much as 'normal' acting, despite being one of the highest paid voice actors), but he's been really smart with his money and has been getting a huge amount of work. The thing is, Mark Hamill doesn't really seem to want to be a well-known actor, which is why he specialized in voice acting roles, of which he has a shitload.
Mark Hamill is basically just doing whatever he wants to do (which explains his role on The CW's The Flash) and making bank. He might not make as much as someone like Ford, but he doesn't really seem to care.

The use of the spoiler tag for its actual purpose on GAF went out the window a long time ago. I'm guessing its usage for actual story-related spoilers forr movies/games/etc. on here is about 25%, with the other 75 going to use it to post snarky messages, followed by the equivalent of j/k hidden in a spoiler tag.

Also he probably doesn't love Star Wars. But without him, people wouldn't be discussing how the movie would be taking JP or Avatar's records.

No real surprise there. Ford is making a bit more than I thought, but not much. Everyone else is in line with my expectation.
Boyega and Ridley are relative unknowns. Leading a Star Wars film is career making; they both have WAY more open doors today than they did three years ago. When it comes time to negotiate, they will get hefty raises just like the Harry Potter kids and the Marvel actors.

Ford was worth it imo.
New characters were awesome but Han Solo really brings you back in.
Money and plot definitely contributed to Ford putting in his most effort since at least Air Force One.
though its easily his best since Indy 3.

The dude was eight or nine when he was cast in Star Wars. I try and remember myself as an eight or nine year old, and then try to imagine being put in a global infinte microcosm of scutiny which continues to this day, focused on a production in which highly experienced adult actors barely came off ok.
And then he didn't get a second shot to put it right because the story didn't allow it, subsequently leaving the guy out to dry
I'm amazed he's still alive frankly.
Who cares about the base salary with that kind of percentage.
