Does Gamestop have a record of shipping games earlier?

I called them earlier and they said that it would absolutely not ship until the 27th. I called my local Gamestop and confirmed that I can return orders from Gamestop.com to the store, so I am likely going to get a copy from battle.net or pick up a copy at Best Buy on the 27th.

We're talking about nexus wars, a UMS game where you build buildings that spawn units automatically with a high food limit. So, you basically end up with like 1600 units on screen at a time, no fog, all needing AI calculated. It's nuts.

Nexus Wars is nothing compared to a Marine Arena game (assuming everyone doesn't quit in the first 5 minutes because they're confused).

You all say you can run it really well, but how does it hold up when you have a large number of units on screen?

2v2 at max food with everything on screen will make your cpu fan sound like a hairdryer but it gets the job done. Anything over that and it starts to chug.

Damn, I want the game in the morning not the afternoon since I requested the entire day off. I'll most likely go to my local BB midnight launch but I fear the lines might be too long...

When was the last time you tried the beta? It got some decent changes as far as graphics and performance go in the last phase over the last couple weeks.

It's fair to expect that it'll continue to be patched and improve performance-wise, though likely not drastically.

i haven't played the beta in a few months. glad to hear it's better now.

I have a 260 and a much worse CPU and can run the game on ultra settings @1080

i haven't played the beta in a few months. glad to hear it's better now.

As people have mentioned, it's still not very good with utilizing multicores, but it definitely runs better now then it did a few months prior, so you should be fine if your PC is in good working order otherwise.

I have a MSI E7405 gaming laptop with a Radeon 5870 1GB GDDR5, I5-430M with 4gigs or ram running at 1680x1050 resolution and I can play at max settings with FPS ranging from 50+.

For yours I would assume yes it is playable with high settings with 1920x1080 with your processor and gpu, but FPS rates may vary.

Anecdotal, but looking at the numbers for preorders in my district (Work at a gamestop) my store is the lowest with reserves in the mid 30s. Most of the stores are averaging 40-50 or so. It's a fucking blizzard game, it's going to be huge. What are they smoking? :lol

aaand one of those 30 won't be picked up after pre-ordering the CE through amazon. I'll be in next week though to switch it over to madden 11.

I ran the beta with pretty much everything maxed at 1920x1080 and I have pretty much the same specsas you.
