Starfield xbox series Gameplay leaked

I think the hype is getting to me. I was going to play this on a series S, but I might now have to purchase a Series X specially for Starfield.
Looks very nice. It's a shame there is no performance mode on console would have been in for a series X 100%. I think I might save my pennies for a PC down the line.

Aren't they both capped at 30fps?

Sure, but I expect it to look better on the X. If money was no object then I'd buy a £4000 PC to play it on, but the X is the best I can get at the moment.

(Somebody on GAF gift me 1 million pounds to buy a PC and quit work to play Starfield, please!)

Because the interesting things will be generated within a certain space of your landing zone. You can explore an entire planet but I'm sure there will be a limit to how many handcrafted content it generates. It's supposed to push you towards finding other interesting locations on other planets.
That still artificially limits/stifles exploration to a certain radius of whichever "generated landing zone" you start at.

Every other space based exploration game like this features ground transportation of some sort. The only reason this game doesn't is most likely because the creation engine doesn't support it. Maybe they can add space horses or something because walking everywhere in a space based exploration game sounds tedious, exhausting and dumb

They didnt want to mako so that you just quickly travel to all the interesting points. Also that would stifle terrain generation and plantlife in where the thing can go. It could constantly get stuck on terrain and or trees.

Also mods, will fix this easily.

But this is something that the team has worked hard on to perfect, as they've stated many times. I have zero doubts it will feel good and natural.

Also what do you mean the creation engine doesn't support it? They have a flying spaceship.

Fallout New Vegas has mod vehicle support so...

You don't need a 4000 pounds PC to surpass XSX's performance.

It looks good but am the only one that isn't overhyped? I am not seeing where it is introducing something that has not been done before. I am hyped but more of a medium hype. Let me put it this way, I was more hyped leading up to NMS. Now that I say that maybe that is the problem.

Damn, looks slow and boring, definitely not for me... But I can give it a chance to just try and complete the story mode, maybe I'll click with it

Hoping there's a 60 fps mod for X. Similar to how there was a Fallout 4 60 fps mod for Xbox One. What the mod did was reduce the res from 1080p to 720p but it worked great. Even the menus moved swiftly at 60 fps.

The only drawback was you couldnt flip flop in real time. So if you wanted 720p/60 mode you had to activate the mod and then reload the game. It couldnt do the res/fps thing on the fly.

What that poster stated is simply not true. You can land anywhere you want.

Perhaps, but the planet isn't "there," right? It's a loading screen, can't fly in the atmosphere? Can you fly around the planet to get to the other side?

My understanding was the planets are more like Destiny (or Mass Effect 1) than No Man's Sky.

I think my bigger concern is that I haven't seen anything that isn't nearly identical to Skyrim or Fallout 3/4. If they don't do something extraordinary with the setting or story, I'm guessing it'll start to feel very familiar very quickly.

I scanned through a bit to see what's up. Looks good from what I saw. Back into my information bubble I go now until launch.

AI looks dumb as fuck.
maybe it's because it's the beginning but yes, the enemies seem managed by a rather basic AI. they either stand in place shooting at you or run from cover to cover senselessly.
I'm more curious about the NPCs ai in population centers, I hope at least those are more responsive than in the past

Fallout New Vegas has mod vehicle support so...

They could make it so that you have to earn or build your own ground transport if they were worried about people not exploring slowly at first, But after the 30th hour only being able to walk everywhere is going to become tiring af when they ask you to do so on 1,000 other planets.

The creation engine may have space flight but it doesn't have in-atmosphere flight or ground transport. If the engine can properly support it why not add it? Why limit the player's ability to fully explore? I'm sure mods will fix it but what about on console? People are ignoring this issue now but I'm sure complaints will pop up after 50hrs and 50 planets of nothing but walking (in the ultimate exploration game)

You can still get benefit from higher frame rates in 60hz screens.

But it's not a great choice if you can't reach those higher framerates at max settings. You're better off just using the extra horsepower for better visuals if your display just won't show the higher framerates.

Is it good?

It's 40~ minutes of off-camera from what looks like the beginning of the game, by someone who got the constellation edition with a physical copy of the game early.

Looks good to me, third person animations look like an actual third person game and not the typical BGS third person ala Skyrim/Fallout.

The player is clunky with shooting (like that Arthur Geiss Doom 2016 video)

Load times look near instantaneous when going to space (big plus).

I missed it but I guess no bugs?

Not in the video at least.

Man I dunno I want to like this game I do, but I can't shake the feeling that I'd enjoy mass effect collection better they look very similar in style.

I did notice some choppy motions when turning maybe it's his tv I dunno but I'm going to wait 2-3 months for things to get panned out on pc.

Series X? Graphics look impressive overall then?

It is there

You cant fly in atmosphere

You can fly around a planet while in space

Bruh, a Skyrim in space is exactly what people want. A huge singleplayer RPG. if you need some other hook, good luck. Nobody makes games on this scale with this much interactivity and player agency.

Because like I said, they don't want you to travel to every point of interest within five minutes of landing probably and seeing everything a planet has to offer from within the confines of your vehicle.
