How long would it take to walk across a land mass the size of North America?
~ 4500km across.
~ 5km/h walking speed.
=> 900h without any sleeping/food etc. and assuming a straight comfortable road so in reality you can at the very least double, probably triple that. Multiply with factor X if mountains or similar come into play.

Because like I said, they don't want you to travel to every point of interest within five minutes of landing probably and seeing everything a planet has to offer from within the confines of your vehicle.
That just sounds dumb and does not take into account AFTER you have spent 5+ hrs on that planet. No one wants LESS options for travel and exploration. You can still explore with a vehicle 🙄. I'm sure you would tell me why there's a good reason ladders in the game don't exist either.

Because there are 1000 planets to explore and not just one. Your not supposed to wander around on one planet forever.

Todd said in the direct, you land on a planet, explore the surroundings and take off and explore a different planet.

But whatever this sounds like some concern trolling, I already linked you to New Vegas vehicle mods, mods will be possible so you do you.

What I'm trying to say is that if you play like a complete cretin, AI will behave in this way. You can duplicate this behaviour in every game. We had nice posts about this very topic here but because some of the examples were from PlayStation franchises, it was taken down due to 'console war' concerns. Just look at any video of @videogamedunkey playing like an idiot. It's the same thing.

Ok.

i'm sure if they bud developed some old of groundbreaking AI for enemies we would have heard it by now, silence speaks volumes and this is probably just the same run of the mill path finding / decision trees etc

Right, my point exactly. There are many many planets. Why not give us the options to quickly get from certain points of interests on each planet? If I'm on my 4th planet and I've already spent 5hrs on it but now I want to quickly check out a certain point on the far side of the map why can't I at a moments notice climb into a buggy or mount and zip to the POI? It's just an excuse why its not there. It's not a concern it's pointing out a design flaw that I didn't see anyone mention considering the nature of the game, but whatever I'll still play the game and reserve final judgment for myself.

It looks good but am the only one that isn't overhyped? I am not seeing where it is introducing something that has not been done before. I am hyped but more of a medium hype. Let me put it this way, I was more hyped leading up to NMS. Now that I say that maybe that is the problem.
I am not exactly hyped or even not hyped, since this really will be my first Bethesda game, but I am curious and looking forward to checking it out.

EDIT
First game that they made, I mean.

Also retreats to cover multiple times despite outgunning the player. Pretty good!
I did not "cover" it stood upright behind the box confused twitching and swapping back and forth at 26 seconds in while being shot at.

But hopefully it was on retard mode as suggested.

More leaked gameplay

The guy really has never played a videogame before I think lmao

It should've been obvious this idiot wouldn't be able to play based on him not even being able to string a coherent sentence together.

Also, that AI is a bit worrying.

is it 60 fps in PC? otherwise i'll probably play this whenever i get around to it. i'm always very underhyped about fallout releases but eventually get into them way after everyone else.
No, Todd is keeping it 30 fps everywhere to preserve their artistic vision... jk that would be crazy if he actually did that lol if you're on PC you'll be alright.

The dude gets into cover twice in the clip and then gets rushed by the robot both times. I do appreciate your effort to concern troll though. Very on brand!

Hard to believe but it actually looks like a proper 3rd person action game. I'll stick to first person and switch to 3rd from time to time to look at my ass.

Yeah it looks great. Personally it'll be 3rd person for me for exploration and in the cities then 1st person for combat sequences.

Maybe because a killer robot is closing on him.

Yeah lmao. Honestly this looks good to me.

I do appreciate your effort to stick up for retarded AI. It must be us (as in many noticing this) that's the problem, not the guy with this "$MSFT" in his title.

I already have the game preordered on Steam, ya dunce. I can still call out very dated AI in current year. Don't worry though, I am sure the community will fix that one up too, if so.

Asked about the length of the game on today's official Xbox Gamescom stream, Hines says, "There's not an amount of time that I'm comfortable enough [to say] 'now you've played it enough Starfield to get what this game is'. I'm at 150-160 hours on my current playthrough, and I haven't even come close."
