Well it's hard to complain for six quid, and I need a new shooter to play, there's nothing else I can think of. And short is good.

I remember getting the SiN pack retail for cheap a while ago, and I only recently played SiN Ep1... and quite honestly, it's as generic as a fps could be. It's ok in parts, but in others I just kept wishing the game was over.

It's pretty short too (kind of a given, since it was supposed to be the first in a series).

Perhaps I should check out SiN 1 soon.

Well, it took a few hours to patch Morrowind, but my god it looks so fucking good it's ridiculous. I'd forgotten just how much better than Oblivion this game is. For some reason it won't let me take a screen shot even after enabling it in the ini file, but oh well.

Time to play some Morrowind, never played it before even though I played the everloving crap out of Oblivion!
anyone tried the Morroblivion mod with Visual patch as well? is this better then the morrowwind mods themselves?

Do you ever find yourself thinking "Damn, I have this sick hat in TF2 and want this really cheap game. But I don't trust a middleman"

After Oblivion I found Morrowind very hard to get into. The conveniences Oblivion offers (fast travel, map markers, walking speed, no chance of missing melee attacks) are just too...convenient to do without.

Lol in Morrowind you are suppose to jump everywhere. When your acrobatics hits 100 you are pretty much flying across the landscape.

So my Fallout New Vegas stutters like nobody's business whenever my character walks. Framerate bouncing around from 15-45 randomly. When I jump the problem goes away, but whenever I walk on the ground it starts up again. I've tried lowering every setting, various .ini 'iFPS=60' tweaks, and the Fallout New Vegas Stutter Remover, all without result. Verifying my Game cache didn't do anything either. I was able to run Oblivion and Fallout 3 just fine, so this is extra strange. Most of the fixes out there are for minor framerate ticks, not this jerky movement.

Any ideas, or should I just jump my way through this 100+ hour game?

Had stuttering issues also though didn't turn off HW audio. Put audio into its own thread (as well as the mouse). Game will crash if you exit correctly so I just exit to the menu and alt-f4 then kill the process in task manager. I also uninstalled Asus GamerOSd and that helped performance as well.

The slow movement speed in the start (unless you choose a certain sign) is a major pain, but that's what console commands are for! I pop open the console and boost athletics and speed as soon as I get off the boat.

Would anyone that's pre-ordered Skyrim and RAGE mind gifting me the Quakecon pack? I heard you can gift the entire thing at the discount price.

Will Paypal you the $40 + an extra Dirt 3 key I have.

EDIT: Found someone.

I just beat
the defense turrets
in Breath of Death VII. Is that really a spoiler?

Anyway, the difficulty kicked up a little at some point and I started getting a little bit more enjoyment out of the game.

I really like that I can play an hour a night and feel like I'm making major progress.

People can gift the whole pack for $40? Damn...I've barely played anything from that pack...tempting...my goodness.

Once you get mark and recall, you'll find traveling to be a hell of a lot easier in Morrowind than it was in Oblivion. Also, do the early mage guild quests to get the amulets that recall you to holy shrines. All this combined with the bug/boat system lets you go just about anywhere with ease. A heck of a lot better than Oblivion's half-assed system.

Picked up Rage and the Quakecon Pack. I tried to justify my purchase by adding up the total cost of the separate sale prices for each game I didn't already own from the pack. It exceeded what I payed for Rage and the pack. It didn't help, so I tried to tell myself I got some awesome TF2 items along with the purchase. That still didn't make me feel better so I loaded up Wolfenstein 3D. Any of the regret for spending that $115 went away.

Yep yep. It works, someone over at CAG just gifted me it. Amazing deal.

Wolfenstein 3D is the real game of forever.

I found this brilliant port of Wolfenstein to the Doom engine and it allows me to play it in zDoom. I get the Doom mapping feature, perfect pad support, and perfect widescreen. The Doom mapping feature makes the game so much more playable.

This interests me if its real.

1) I hate TF2
2) I have hats from pre-orders
3) I want games

I'll look into that, but I might just play it as is for the authentic experience. Despite being a huge id fan I've never had the chance to play through Wolfenstein 3d, let alone Spear of Destiny that I never even heard about until recently. Yeah, I think I'm going to just suck it up and play the original.

The authentic experience isn't worth it. I consider the OG game near unplayable without the Doom mapping. Every other aspect of the experience is authentic.

The best way to play Wolf 3d is with NewWolf which adds high res support, runs in windows just fine and has a real mapping system that works even better then the doom maps.

everyone just pretends that this last Wolfenstein game never existed right?

i kinda want it, wish it had a better price drop

Yeah, I want it also but at a significant reduction in price. If it were part of the Quakecon pack I'd just get it like that.

Why? No one played it, but I thought it was fantastic. The overworld was pretty much the only aspect that I didn't really love of the singleplayer.

The 2009 one? It's a really awesome single player game. I think all the backlash around it focused on the crappy multiplayer mode. RTW and of course ET had great multiplayer whereas Wolf 2009's multi was a steaming hot pile of garbage.

Just got a gift on Steam in the form of Total War: Shogun 2, nice, very nice indeed, though I find myself with little time to play PC games while dealing with this move of mine. Ah well, soon enough, soon enough.

Ultimate or Final Doom, which should I install? Looking at the zDoom installation FAQ it seems as though it can automatically detect if I've got a Doom game installed.

Ultimate and Final Doom are two different things. Ultimate is Doom 1 + one extra episode. Final Doom is two Episodes that are essentially expansions from teams other than Id.

You should start with Ultimate Doom. Once it's installed, just start up zDoom and it will see every Wad on your PC.
