Copies of games that were only a few dollars during sales, being passed off as full price.
Copies of HLs, Portals, L4Ds that were free, cheap, or old, being passed off as full price.
Copies of DIRT3, Humble Indie games, and others being passed off as full price.

All for new titles on the service that haven't been on sale.

We are golden!

expected. Give it time!

Just wanna say, Defense Grid is great. Only played like 90 mins, but I'm digging it a lot.

Side, I'm kind of proud, I beat 3 games today. Splinter Cell Conviction, Samarost 2, and finally, Limbo (I was dragging that one out for awhile, the XBLA version btw).

It's been awhile since I beat a game. Between my summer sale games, all of my pre-existing games, and the games I just bought from the Origin sale, I have started a shitload of games but haven't made much progress. I wish I was better at just focusing on a few games at a time.

Oh well. +

I usually play a rotation of genres, so I can always switch depending on my mood.

1 FPS/action (currently Metro 2033)
1 Platformer (empty, just beat Limbo. Either And Yet It Moves or Outland next)
1 Strategy-ish (just started Defense Grid)
1 Racing (NFS: Hot Pursuit is on hold while I figure out how to fix/what to do about my ps3 controller. Might start Dirt 3)
1 RPG (empty as well. Might put in my Witcher 2 replay in, finally. Or Bloodlines or Alpha Protocol)

Something like that. You could probably bump up the action or platformer or RPG category to 2/3 games depending.

Backloggery has really helped me with beating games lately, surprisingly. I beat Quake (again, on hard), Vampire Bloodlines and Shadows of the Damned this past week, haven't beat anything prior to that in awhile. Feels good, mayne.

I'm kind of at a loss for what to play next though. I need something to concentrate on until Deus Sex.

Been the same way. Been a lot better at beating games now that Im using backloggery a bit more extensively. As for not knowing what to play, just let backloggery choose for you with the fortune cookie.

What? I find the gunplay in Metro phenomenal. What makes you say it's terrible?
It's definitely among the more realistic gaming experiences. Played on ranger hardcore though, where weapon damage is pretty realistic as well.

Same here. Loved the gunplay in Metro, the gun animations are fantastic and the sense of weight in the weapons is perfect.

I'm not sure how anyone can honestly call the gunplay in Metro 2033 good after that level where you come out of the train tunnel and have to sprint around in the snow while enemies shoot at you from windows that are a kilometre away and hardly ever miss.

I'm pretty sure you can just wait out the enemy patrol until they pass by... I don't remember doing anything like what you're describing. There are quite a few really stupid areas (like the one where you come out of a tunnel into a huge room, with enemies all around you on and beside the train tracks, and it's pretty much impossible to stealth through the whole thing) but I don't think that's one of them.

My Steam Store seems to be broken. No matter how hard I try (repairing Steam, reinsstalling flash, browsers, etc), it won't load properly. Anybody having the same issue?

You can sit around and wait for them, but Metro 2033 already forces you to sit passively through enough scripted sequences which can't be bypassed. I just felt like it would be better if the encounter allowed you to approach it how you wanted to rather than forcing you to patiently sit through scripted sequences or be a bit screwed.

Besides, if you let them pass I'm pretty sure they head back the way you came to kill your buddies D:

Yep, I stealthed past them somehow in the train section. I did have to reload a couple times (okay, maybe more than that) but I finally got it down where they wouldn't notice me. That section did have some amazing gunfights towards the end of the level, though. Enemy flashlights + rafters + awesome gunplay = win.

I wish I could organize my Steam TF2 inventory. Looking through it is a headache.
Yeah hopefully the final version keeps items in your backpack order, mine are in a specific order and it's annoying trying to find things right now.

I have an extra copy of Frozen Synapse, willing to exchange it for a copy of Terraria. Let me know if someone is interested.

edit: Done :)

I'll hook ya up duder, check PMs.

EDIT - anyone know why Steam tells me someone's email is "invalid" while sending a gift?

EDIT 2 - fixed! Done :)

Yup, same is happening to me. I have tried the client, firefox and chrome.

This is why I want the reason to label my contacts as their GAF usernames!

Make it happen, Valve!

This. I'm actually pretty good at remembering names, but it's the people who change usernames every month. I think Valve eventually stops keeping track of aliases, because some of these guys have morphed into names that I'm completely clueless on.

Yep, same here. Yesterday I had someone as "I am Miley Cyrus" with a picture and all. Maybe I need to cleanse my friends list.

What section are you guys talking about? I don't remember any area where enemies were shooting at me from a kilometer away.

Is this the section right after you come out of a tunnel (where you left the child you had met earlier)? If so, you can completely bypass the patrol. Over on the right hand side, there is a ladder you can climb up. You only have to sneak past one guard on the upper floor, and that's it. I had to do it this way because my filter time was down to 30 seconds or so.

Beat Hazard is today's daily deal ($3.25): http://store.steampowered.com/app/49600/

Don't be a dummy and:

1) Skip this game.

2) Not buy the Beat Hazard Complete version. The Beat Hazard Ultra DLC is practically a totally new game.

Awesome. Includes a visualizer, LastFM and Internet Radio support. Works marvelously with a 360 controller. A perk (unlocks) system for customizing your game, leaderboards by song length and game mode, multiple game modes, well supported indie game by the developer. Every song gives you a unique experience. Make sure to get the Ultra DLC for $1.25. Sweeten the experience with headphones that rumble.

Today's daily deal is probably going to be the first real test of the TF2 items for games set up. I can imagine a lot of TF2 servers being filled with kids trading metal and crates and hats for Beat Hazard.

What would be the point in waiting for the PS3 version?
Comfy Couch.

I don't care if I could move my PC and hook it up, I'm not going to.

I bought it anyway, but I don't know if I'll play it.

I'm using Comfy Couch as a catch all term really. Way better sound, my TV is much nicer, the couch is really not the thing personally.

Also I don't think I could hook up my PC easily. I don't believe my TV or reciever have the right ports. They're both HDMI with toslink too on the reciever, I'm pretty sure my PC doens't have either, I know the video out is DVI at least.

You can get a DVI to HDMI converter pretty cheap (like a few dollars.) What GPU do you have?

Even though I could, I still don't care to. And 8800GTX I think, can't remember.

EDIT: Yeah it is, 768mb GDDR3.

I know I can have a pre-order canceled by contacting support, but what if part of pre-ordering it gave other things I took advantage of? Rage, for example. I already got rid of the TF2 item and also used it to get the Quakecon pack cheaper. Would I still be able to cancel the pre-order?

I'm asking just in case id decide to use always-online DRM for the game.

Not sure if this has been posted but since Red Orchestra 2 is steamworks. GreenManGaming has the game up for pre-order and they're offering 20% off using this voucher:

SUNNY-SAVER-20PEC

Using the code, you're getting the game for £16.92 or $27
