The Diablo comparison is not apt, DoW2 has strictly designed levels and maps and units that come at you.

Having not played a whole lot of Retribution so far, I do have to mention that it has a lot of tower defense elements - setting up perimeter lines to repel wave after wave of enemies.

On a different and less classy topic - So being (sort of) an EA game, theres no (forseeable) reason for Bulletstorm to disappear right? Want to pick it up when it gets cheaper, but with EA games disappearing here and there I'm wondering if I should pick it up sooner.

Who knows. But the fact it's GFWL means it shouldn't, in theory, have the issues the other games are having. Any DLC would be going through Live anyways.
