They were on sale like 2 weeks ago during Quakecon. $15 for both IIRC. Oblivion goes on sale during pretty much every Christmas and Summer sale. Morrowind not so much.

Grrr...well, I suppose I need to hope for something for Skyrim then.

Getting another hard drive tomorrow, and going to dedicate it to games. Would I be able to just drag my steam folder to the other drive, or is it going to take a little more work than that (reinstalling/redownloading every thing on the second HDD instead)?

The gunplay isn't the best, but everything around it is so fucking good it makes up for it.

It feels good, anyway, if not spectacular.
Have to agree to disagree. I'm sick to death to linear on rails fps games with hitscan weapons or abilities. Fuck that shit, stick me in the wilderness with the AK-SU74 on my back and an m1911 and go splunking.

Oh I agree. I just don't think the guns in STALKER have much impact.

Maybe this is just me being a big geek, but has anyone else ever wished you could sort your steam games by total hours played? Sometimes I like to see what my most played games are and it would be nice to not have to go through the list in my profile. Seems like it would be a simple column option to add to the library window.

If you sign up for raptr you can do this. You don't actually have to use raptr, just link it to Steam and it will download all your Steam play times. Of course, at least for me the Steam playtimes are wildly inaccurate but...

Interesting re raptr...

Why are your times inaccurate? I know some of my play times for games played before that feature was added are wrong, but it seems pretty accurate otherwise. Not counting instance of me pausing games to go eat or talk on the phone (or something like that) of course.

I have no idea. I have games that I've played over 20 hours that show up as single digits and games I've played for a few hours show up as well over the # I've played. This is all games I've played not in offline mode (Steam doesn't track playtime in offline mode). Even talking recently as in this year, not just when the feature was introduced. I don't think it's all that uncommon either based on people's comments whenever this topic comes up. For awhile I was pretty disappointed but I've gotten over it and just accepted for me anyway the playtime #s are basically worthless. It's not really that big of a deal in the long run. I used raptr for awhile as well but after my last reformat I never reinstalled it. Raptr was much more reliable for me, but some people have complained about it as well.

I picked up Dungeon Siege III on a whim and I'm surprised how nice it looks on my laptop even on low with several options turned off (I've never had a strong eye graphics anyway so I'm sure others on gaf would disagree that it looks good)

Perhaps I've been underestimating the old laptop? I have a Core i3 and a GeForce 310m.

I'm thinking of picking up the PC version of Deus Ex since I really like steam, the PC version is cheaper, and my PS3 is often occupied these days between my daughter playing Breath of Fire or watching Netflix

Thoughts from low end PC / laptop gaf? There is no shortage of 360 vs PS3 comparisons with high end PC users giggling at the top, you don't hear much from people picking between a console version or a PC version on low

I think my specs are higher than the required but lower than the recommended. I wouldn't mind having it on my steam profile in the event that upgrade at some point in the future

DS3 isn't mindblowing graphically but it's competent and stable. If they had included high resolution textures for the PC version it would be a decent looker actually.

EDIT: No more time for me, well thats lame, i dont get the game for 4 dollars and my bank XO but well...im out, thanks anyway GAF! you are always good people

Steam isn't letting me download the Space Marine demo. I click the download demo button and nothing happens.
It's not available for everyone yet, only pre-orders and people with accounts on the THQ websites.

i grabbed Dead Island off green man gaming for the $33 and change. wanted to make use of those 20% off codes in case they expired soon.

i like it. game looks cool. hope it actually is.

anyone here have experience using a proxy to decrypt a steam game?

I did it for Dragon Age back in 2009 while I was in Japan. It took forever to decrypt, because I was on a terrible free proxy, but it worked! I forgot the exact steps I took, though. Once the files were decrypted I was able to launch the game normally.

We don't have to live in America. I think we get the better deal to be honest.
Canada gets the best of both worlds then! =D

Less than an hour, and I've been successful at media blackout. Body is ready etc.

Might and Magic Clash of Heroes is coming to Greenman Gaming, they are getting the pre-order up soon. Is a Steam title, it should be purchasable for $10.19 depending if that 20% code is still hanging about.

Also Greenman Gaming is getting a gifting system happening in one or two weeks according to the forums.

Posting here as well as in the Deus Ex thread:

what the fuck is happening!?

Steam crashed, and now whenever I try and launch it again it says "could not connect to the Steam network."

Sorry for the abrupt nature of that quote, a I'm on my phone and it has a text entry bug in on sec ondapps where I can't see what I'm typing. I don't even know if this says what it should!

Oh, America.

Is there any way I can unlock the Deus Ex files by changing my region or using a different IP address?

I'm in Australia, and it doesn't release for another 1 day 3 hours.

Who wants a steamgifts invite?

edit:gone

If you're one of those people that tried to take advantage of the Dirt 3 keys situation don't bother asking, people like you don't belong on this site.
