Rugby Challenge looks great, but sadly I have absolutely no interest. Shows the dev's diversity though, good on them.

If I were to buy Mass Effect 1/2 on Steam, would I be able to use my saves for the almost certainly non-Steam ME3?

Obviously no one can confirm this without playing ME3, but I was able to use Steam saves from ME1 on non-Steam ME2. It'd be sheer lunacy to have it work any other way.

you can register some games from steam to origin though, maybe that could work. but you'd probably have to play on origin and leave the steam copies

Ok, got a question here:

Last week I bought SR2 from gamersgate and activated it on steam, German version nonsense ensued. Now, I picked up the D2D version today and figured "what the hell" and tried to see what would happen if I activated it. Turns out, it activated, damnit, and sure enough, after I redownloaded the game, still in German... I am contacting Steam support about it, but they still havent gotten back to me from over a week ago about something else. Has this happened to anyone else? I mean to say, are there workarounds?
Ok, so I just had an amazing thought:
I bought a copy for my buddy yesterday too, If he were to come over and download his copy to my pc, would my account be able to use the local files from the english version, considering I have both the German and English Retail versions registered on my account?

I would be willing to bet you should be able to since saves between most games are interchangeable.

Gah! I cannot get over how poorly handled steam achievements are. I bought Deus Ex and after playing for a while i wanted to see what achievements I had gotten (even though steam achievements are pointless as you can only view peoples single game achievements and not all of there steam achievements as a whole). So I click on the Deus Ex store page and after putting in my birthday for the 1000th time, I click the steam achievements at the side of the page to see the achievements I have obtained. I mean I am one of the biggest steam fan boys out there and even pay a premium to buy my games on steam but I don't see how one of the biggest company's in the gaming industry can have such a poorly implemented system.

End rant.

Edit. After going to my profile in steam community I can then search the game i want and click on stats to see the achievements for that game. Slightly easier, but by no means ideal.

You can check your achivements in-game if you bring up the Steam overlay or switch to Detailed mode in your Steam library and click on the game if you are out-of-game.

How do you view your list of game? The view I use shows achievements on its landing page:

(Not my screenshot)

Edit: Also, yeah, you can check it from within the game, too.

No matter where you get the games from they save to My Docs/Bioware/ME1 or ME2 so you'll be fine.

ahh detailed is better. Still I wish they had more purpose. I mean even just a number value like xbox. If i want to see people's achievements i have to search individual games they own, but this works for me.

Thanks, and thanks to everyone else who replied. I'm not buying them today or anything, whenever they're next on sale, but thanks, wanted to know before hand.

No. If that ever happens I will nuke my Steam account from orbit

not really but i'd be mad

well we got a review from IGN! Their journalism is hilarious, but I'll take an 8.0 any day of the week:

When first presented with Defy Gravity, I honestly didn't expect much from it, but within minutes of clicking "New Game", I realized it was much like the shy, quiet friend who goes unnoticed at the karaoke bar and then blows everyone away with her incredible singing voice—a big surprise.

Also, are there any other Steam DEVs around in this thread? I dont really know where to find them on GAF, but I was just curious who is around, I have a couple of questions for you guys :).

Not even that, chieves just need to be more accessible/easier to find. They need to visually integrate achievements into your profile page so people can see your latest accomplishments and such. The bar on the side with your list of games(view stats) just doesn't cut it imo.

The guy who developed Your Doodles are Bugged was here around the release of the game. And I think that some guy (CEO?) from Sidhe (Shatter) goes under the name Mario.

I wonder, is there a good Let's Play Deus Ex out there somewhere?

I tried getting into this game myself, but I gave up after about 2 to 3 hours because I really didn't like the gameplay. However, it's considered a classic and one of the best games ever, so I'd still like to at least watch it.

watching a Deus Ex let's play is missing the whole point on WHY its considered a classic and one of the best games ever. There's no worse game to do this, literally.

What would be the strongest?
It lacks a lot of the humor and charm that pretty much all the others have because they are based directly off the films while this is not. There are no favorite scenes redone with the Lego humor and that is a huge part of what makes the other games so amusing.

The best one is prolly Harry Potter because it has the school as it's overworld and it's a real pleasure to explore.

I bought and played Lego Star Wars Saga without much knowledge of the formula for the game. Are all of the lego games "Go around mash the same button to kill stuff and collect everything"? I really like the charm of the games but the gameplay wore on me very quickly.

Yea. They're generally considered kids games for this reason.

I had fun doing about 2 episodes of the Star Wars game a while back, but I got real bored of doing the same damn thing over and over, so I stopped playing it.
