Oh, wow, Steam Support came through:

Thank you Based Katriina.[/QUOTE]
That's cool.

I don't like when customer service reps use the phrase 'as a one time gesture' though. Just seems douchy.

My brother got some money stolen from his apple account due to some fraudulent Chinese app and the guy said he'll refund the money 'just this once'. What if it happened again? Not my fault I got scammed. Not exactly the same as your scenario but that phrase isn't really necessary in my opinion.

Yeah, Amazon threw a similar phrase my way when I complained that the discounted bundle I bought at $16.99 was reduced further to its actual intended price of $14.99 an hour to two later.

I still haven't used the 200 cents of credit yet. Amazon needs to get the e-book version of The Host: The Official Illustrated Movie Companion already.

You should have actually said: Thank you Based Katriina.

Haha, I didn't think of that at the time. :(

Oh, and Sega can go fuck itself. What a dick move to take down the DDE but leave the regular edition up for purchase when the intention was to bring the former back. Cunts. I'm glad I'll, in a roundabout way, make the $32.50 back; in fact, I'll be ahead when I sell the Company of Heroes Collection, which comes with the DDE.

I agree, they should have just said:

GET BETTER AT BUYING SHIT BRO.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.

They say it because they don't want to excuse everyone's stupid or bad behavior. It's meaningless, but it hopefully makes you think about your actions and their possible ramifications in the future.

Sorry. I chuckled a little at that.

Well Far Cry 2 has officially secured it's place in the Hall of Shame for the Worst Implementations of an Open World in a Game.

Red Faction: Guerilla watched proudly as it climbed those steps.

Red Faction Guerrilla had too much brown but other than that it's one of the best sandbox games ever.

What didn't you like?

It was a poorly implemented open world. Completely devoid of content and not worth exploring in the slightest. All it did was have large expanses of empty space between the fun stuff: groups of buildings to explode.

"one time gesture" = "we'll do it again because we have to but we'd prefer if you stopped fucking up"

They say it because they don't want to excuse everyone's stupid or bad behavior. It's meaningless, but it hopefully makes you think about your actions and their possible ramifications in the future.

Yeah. I've had Sony do a 'one-time only refund' on wallet cash for me twice so far.
This all makes sense.

Bought Impire. I like it. It's basically an RTS at heart - kind of Dawn of War with city building, not really dungeon building. It's still buggy though. I had to replay the first mission (tutorial) 3x because it wouldn't register me completing it. The solution was to delete the campaign save entirely and start over. Sigh.

Once I started getting into the meatier part of the game I was enjoying it more but it took so long to get there from the bug. We'll see. I still want to play it. That's a good sign.

Any word on mlb2k13 for steam? Let alone pc? Amazon doesnt even have it listed.

For some reason I buy all the 2k sports games on pc that are available for like $5-$10 every year

e: a lil googling shows that its not coming at all. oh well.

How are the HAWX games, comparable to Ace Combat? Gamersgate has the HAWX games for $2.50 each.

I think they're kind of crap. Then again, I loved the old Ace Combat games. And didn't put more than an hour or so into HAWX. I certainly wouldn't give them 2.50 again. I'd rather find a bum and toss it to him.

I liked HAWX way more than Ace Combat Assault Horizon, which is like an on-rails Hollywood BS thing where some of the missions were ripped right out of CoD and don't even involve flying. HAWX is an arcade flight-sim that actually has TrackIR support and models rudder function, which somehow got left out of Ace Combat.

It really was a surprise from nowhere. Just watched a couple of those videos and good lord, the music. It's like the ghost of Nintendo past.

What if you miss out on something really cool and when you finally have money to buy it the coolness is gone and everyone in the thread here has moved on and all of the sudden you are an outcast who missed out on *that* experience in May.

Papo & Yo is a lovely game and the PC port great. More options than certain high budget games offer. I hope they release the PS3 demo for PC so maybe more people play it, it's quite unique. The puzzles don't seem to be very difficult but story, visuals and music make up for it, everyone who likes jump'n'puzzles games should get it. At the very latest during an inevitable sale.

I saw a comparison in some review of it to Ico. How is the companion AI in the game? How does it compare to Ico (if you have played that)?

I ask because I wanted to strangle that piece of shit by the end of Ico and will never play that awful escort mission of a game again.
