Lets get this thread going again.

Verdun is leaving Early Access on the 26th and they have a cool video showing the development progression of the game.
Joyous news for the troops in the trenches; the official launch date for Verdun is set on the 28th of April 2015! After more than a year in Steam Early Access, during which many community driven improvements were done to the game such as the addition of different troop types, new maps, improving the UI, bullet physics, the Unity 5 engine update and the introduction of the iconic gas weapon combined with a claustrophobic gas-mask experience to name just a few, the Steam Early Access is finally getting to a close. Here a trailer summarizing the development progression in Early Access so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlEkPF26eYA

Now the focus is on Verdun’s official release. As a gesture of gratitude, Early Access players will be gifted a ‘Steam Early Access medal’ and can try out the live build of Verdun a day before launch.

Also, all players are invited to sign up for the first Verdun tournament, which will be hosted on Steam during the celebration of the release!
Be sure not to miss the celebration, sign up for the Verdun tournament here: http://www.VerdunGame.com/tournament/

The Marksman DLC alongside the free platform update for Arma 3 is being released today sometime after 20:00 GMT+2.

Also agree on a thread revival. With that in mind:

Little Devil Inside is looking to be something very exciting. It's on greenlight at the moment, so show it some love

Greenlight Page

Trailer

Little Devil Inside is a truly engaging 3D action adventure RPG game where you are thrown into a surreal but somewhat familiar setting with men, creatures and monsters to interact with, learn and hunt – survive and discover the world that exists beyond.

Steam Adds More Ways for Workshop Creators to Earn Money

Press Releases - Valve 9:58am
Open Marketplace for Paid Mod Support Debuts Today on the Skyrim Workshop

April 23, 2015 - Steam now offers new functionality in the Steam Workshop, allowing community mod makers the opportunity to earn money doing what they love. With this update, community-made Workshop content such as mods, items, or maps can now be made available for sale directly via the Steam Workshop for titles that have enabled this feature.

Workshop is now putting mod authors in business via a new streamlined process for listing, selling and managing their creations. Creators contributing to the Steam Workshop have the choice of listing their new creations for sale at a price of their choosing, or to continue to make their work available to players for free. Mods purchased from the Steam Workshop are available immediately for play.

"We think this is a great opportunity to help support the incredible creative work being done by mod makers in the Steam Workshop," says Tom Bui at Valve. "User generated content is an increasingly significant component of many games, and opening new avenues to help financially support those contributors via Steam Workshop will help drive the level of UGC to new heights."

Direct mod sales via the Steam Workshop debuts today with Bethesda Softworks'® award-winning title, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim®, and additional titles will become available across the Steam Workshop in the coming weeks.

Mods on the Skryim Workshop have received more than170 million downloads to date. The thousands of free mods, items, weapons, and quests will continue to be available at the discretion of the players who made them.

Support for mod sales via Steam Workshop is the latest expansion of Workshop in recent weeks. In late January, support was added for third party games to sell in game items created by members of the community. Valve alsoannounced over $57 mil has been paid to community content creators since Workshop debuted in October 2011.

For more information, please visit: www.steamcommunity.com/workshop/aboutpaidcontent.

The changes include an updated NVIDIA driver, updated branding, and the latest security updates.

Note that older NVIDIA video cards (G8x, G9x, and GT2xx GPUs, and motherboard chipsets based on them) are no longer supported by this NVIDIA driver, and therefore will NOT work with SteamOS

this is entirely new, not just updated, right?

http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds

Correct.

You can request a refund for nearly any purchase on Steam—for any reason. Maybe your PC doesn't meet the hardware requirements; maybe you bought a game by mistake; maybe you played the title for an hour and just didn't like it.

It doesn't matter. Valve will, upon request via help.steampowered.com, issue a refund for any reason, if the request is made within fourteen days of purchase, and the title has been played for less than two hours. There are more details below, but even if you fall outside of the refund rules we’ve described, you can ask for a refund anyway and we’ll take a look.

Seems fair to me.

One of the other major changes this brings:

Abuse

Refunds are designed to remove the risk from purchasing titles on Steam—not as a way to get free games. If it appears to us that you are abusing refunds, we may stop offering them to you. We do not consider it abuse to request a refund on a title that was purchased just before a sale and then immediately rebuying that title for the sale price.

Steam is now offering bundles: Angry Video Game Nerd Bundle, GameLoading Member's Bundle. The page looks just like a regular package page, but it's different from packages in the following ways:

  • Bundles are simply a list of packages offered for a single price. This means that every package in the bundle has its own options (region locks, refunds etc.).
  • Price of the bundle will automatically adjust to the price of packages - so if any package has a discount, bundle's price will be lower too.
  • Bundles will be used only for the combination of game + movie for now. Valve still needs to work on details on how to use them in more situations.
  • We don't have a need to track bundles for now as they are just multiple packages at once.

Didnt see it posted but H - Hour is out on early access. Spiritual successor to SOCOM series on PS2. It's a third person tactical shooter.

Steam Hardware preorders are up.

June 4, 2015 -- Valve, GameStop, EB Games, Micromania, and GAME UK today announced the first pre order offerings for Steam Hardware devices will begin at 10 am Pacific. A collection of hardware designed to expand the Steam gaming experience into the living room and beyond, the new Steam Hardware devices are targeted to arrive in North America and Europe this fall.

In an exclusive partnership, starting June 4 and for a limited time, customers in the U.S. may pre-order an Alienware Steam Machine, Steam Link, and/or a Steam Controller from GameStop or Steam and have their order available on October 16, weeks before the official launch of November 10.

In Europe and Canada, GameStop, EB Games, Micromania, and GAME UK will join Steam in offering the Steam Link and Steam Controller as part of this pre order program.

Additionally, CyberPower is now offering their Steam Machine as part of this pre order, directly from its site. The other manufacturers of Steam Machines will be releasing information about their pre order and launch plans in the coming weeks.

GameStop, EB Games, and Micromania are now accepting Steam Hardware pre-orders online and in more than 5,700 retail stores worldwide.

"Valve is known for driving innovation in PC gaming, what we consider the fourth console," said Bob Puzon, senior vice president of merchandising at GameStop, the exclusive retail partner in the U.S. and most of Europe for this Steam Hardware pre-order promotion. "As we continue to see strong growth in this category, we are excited to give gamers more options and look forward to seeing how the market responds to the new offerings from Valve and its Steam Machine partners."

A leading platform for PC, Mac, and Linux games, Steam offers more than 5,000 titles to millions of gamers around the world. Targeted for release on November 10, the Steam Controller, Steam Link, and Steam Machines will provide Steam gamers with a host of hardware devices, at a variety of price points, allowing them to customize a gaming experience that best suits their needs and play Steam's thousands of games, user-generated content, and more from any room in the home.

"We have collaborated for years with Valve and GameStop to develop a platform with the best content, the best performance, and the best value compared to anything else on the market. Finally, with this preorder, we have a chance to address the building anticipation for the latest and greatest gaming system," said Frank Azor, general manager of Alienware and XPS, Dell. "It's been a blast playing on our Alienware Steam Machines with our friends and family over recent months; it's really exciting to finally share that experience with our community of gamers."

About the Steam Hardware devices:

Steam Controller -- An innovative input device that allows you to play games from all genres, including traditional gamepad style games as well as games usually reserved for play with a mouse and keyboard. The Controllers are wireless, completely configurable, and available for pre- order in the U.S. and Europe for an estimated $49/?54.

Steam Link -- The Steam Link allows Steam gamers to easily expand the range of their current gaming set up via their home network. Connecting any TV to your Steam host PC, Mac, or Steam Machine, the Link allows you to stream your games at 1080p 60 fps, and is available for pre-order in the U.S. and Europe for an estimated $49/?54.

Steam Machines -- Available from Alienware and other manufacturers, Steam Machines can serve as a stand-alone device for enjoying the Steam gaming experience in one box, with more than 1,000 titles available for native play. In addition, Steam Machines have the ability to broadcast and receive In Home Streaming, allowing you to stream your games to a Steam Link, or receive a stream from another Steam Machine or PC. Steam Machines will vary in price, offering a range of hard drive sizes, graphics performance, and more. Available for pre-order in the US, starting at an estimated $449.

dashboard.png

Today’s Steam Client Beta update, when paired with the latest update to SteamVR [beta], includes the Dashboard, a new system-level interface available in VR. To access the Dashboard, press the system button on either controller. (On the Vive Developer Edition controllers, that’s the tiny black button. Other headsets are not yet supported.)

The Dashboard is currently pretty basic. You’ll see more features introduced as we develop them over the course of the coming weeks. Our goals for the Dashboard are to provide users with easy access to both system-level features and contextually-relevant content while in VR. And because this whole thing runs on a PC, we want to create a space where any software can be accessed while in VR. The Dashboard makes this possible with Overlays, the applications it hosts.

The first of these Overlays is Steam itself, which runs as a modified version of Big Picture mode in VR, providing users with access to your game’s information like achievements, guides, news, and more. We’re just getting started on optimizing this UI for VR, so the experience is still rough around the edges. We’re excited to have it up and running though, and look forward to hearing what you think.

VR Mode:
Added a title bar button to switch in and out of VR mode.

Streaming Video:
Added a Videos filter to the Big Picture Library
Added clearer identification of videos in Big Picture Store and Library
Added support for adding free videos to library in Big Picture

Big Picture:
Added the ability to select the On-Screen keyboard style you want to use by default (Daisy-wheel or the traditional layout)
Fixed continuous error dialogs on login if you entered your SteamGuard token incorrectly

This is very promising. Various "VR desktop" applications have already demonstrated the possibilities for interfacing legacy apps in VR, but Valve could provide a more polished and well-integrated solution.

Ideally, I'd want to put a window for any program anywhere into my room-scale VR space.

Raiden IV finally got dated for a September 3rd release along with this information that might have already been posted before... but I don't know:

Those who own 'Raiden III Digital Edition' can receive additional 10% discount on 'Raiden IV: OverKill' for a week after release, adding up to a total of 20% discount, as a special launching promotion.

Get Hype!

In other STEAM Shoot'em up news we're getting Eschatos along with Judgement Silversword and Cardinal Sins:

You beat me to it! Just to confirm:

We are indeed releasing Eschatos for PC!

Expected release date is mid September. Price is still being finalized, but we expect it will be somewhere around 15 USD. The amazing OST will be available as lossless FLAC (recommended, Yousuke Yasui goodness). Judgement Silversword and Cardinal Sins are planned as well, but the details aren't finalized just yet. Will mention additional info as I get it.

Heroes & Generals Xylander update is out.
Videolog:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HKYZpOjf1c

New Soviet AVS-36
In this update we’re adding the AVS-36 for the Soviet faction to help compete against the StG44 and M1/M2 Carbine.

New Camouflage Uniforms
We’re also adding a larger selection of camouflage uniforms to help you personalize how your heroes look in the game.

Map Updates
We’ve gone through the Town Map and Factory Map tweaked a lot of small details based on stats and player feedback.

New Weapon Skins
The AVS-36, the Sturmgewehr 44, the MP-40 and the M1917 Revolver can now be upgraded with new skins, plus we’re introducing an exclusive “Eisernes Kreuz” skin with an ivory handle engraved with an iron cross for the P08 Parabellum.

‘Battle Director’ giving better balanced and more fun War Battles
Staged battles are auto generated battles that are evenly balanced and fought independently of the war. War-battles are on the other hand based on the actions of the officers and generals controlling Assault Teams in the war and can sometimes be very unbalanced.
So we have introduced a ‘Battle Director‘ feature that identifies which battles are fun and suitable to be played. The fun battles can be joined as usual through either the matchmaker or by manually picking a battle, and the battles that are not fun will be auto-resolved by the Battle Director.

Other Changes
Credits Earnings updated and increased
Ribbon and Rank XP bonuses added for War Battles
Fog weather setting probability reduced
Distance-fog effect toned down in all weather settings
Anti-Cheat updates

I have played a few matches on the new patch and crediting earnings has increased considerably which should mitigate the huge grind that the game suffers from. If you are interested in the game there has never been a better time to jump in.

Dota 2: Coming Soon The Reborn Update

With The International behind us and the Majors just around the corner, we are excited to have the world start playing Dota in the brand-new Source 2 engine. Within the coming weeks, the main client will receive the Reborn Update. Moving away from the Source 1 engine soon will allow us to better focus our efforts entirely on Source 2 in preparation for various upcoming tournaments. There are still a few features that will need some work when the update is released, but we plan to finish them quickly. Expect the weeks that follow to focus on ironing out issues, refining the dashboard and iterating based on your feedback. Afterwards, we’ll begin shifting our attention toward the in-game UI, where we plan to redesign the HUD and work on a variety of other in-game features.

Today’s update to Reborn contains various bug fixes and improvements, as well as a large number of backend changes that result in a very large one-time download. Now would be a good time for everyone to start downloading the Reborn update, as you will not need to download it again when the main client receives the update in the coming weeks.

If you do not have the Reborn update installed and would like to get a head start on it now, launch the Dota client and head over to the Play Tab to get set up. All of your items are now in the Reborn client, and after today any new content will be added directly to Source 2 only.

Steam Mobile has a new update - 2.1

WHAT'S NEW

  • Added Community Market, Trading, Broadcasts, Game Hubs, Discussions, and more to the app
  • The profile views have been updated with showcases, badges, and more.
  • The Store views have also been updated with new personalization features and user reviews.
  • The new Support site can also be accessed from the app for help with your Steam account and games.

A lot is taken from the "Responsive Web" beta

Missed this when posting the VR setup, but in that beta the Play Area (tracking space) volume has been updated and they're reworking the API to handle seated games.
Play Area is minimum 2x1.5m, maximum 4x4m, and can be any size or aspect ratio between.
Removed setting the Seated Center while we rework the API for handling seated games.

Barnett posted about the tracking space

http://steamcommunity.com/games/250820/announcements/detail/99434660661934222

While 15'x15' is easily trackable (our GDC spaces were 16'x14'), it's always been a misnomer based on our recommended 15' (or 5m) diagonal for full 360 roomscale. This is a good visual chart of 2D areas from that diagonal: http://i.imgur.com/b48CTfq.png

It's definitely possible to go big! The previous version actually limited the Play Area to 4x3m, but we can probably increase it again in the next update.
