Street Fighter V |OTVII| New Generation - Connection To Haters Was Lost

I miss the days of specific SF characters being stun specialists. Now everyone aside from Gief is a stun monster further blurring the lines between characters. Moving on... one of the other popular vids being recommended on that page is one of a kid using Alex.

Unlike the Rog user the kid needed about five major guesses compared to Rog's two. I agree with the people saying the insane damage problem is just an issue with certain characters and not all. Some characters just do way too much damage and basically nullify 30-50 seconds of work with way too much ease (not counting gief for the most part considering how hard it can be for him to get in).

I'm down if PSN stops acting up.

GGs man, thanks for the set! Sorry to stop while we were tied up, but I don't have time for any more games tonight.

Everything was smooth on my end. How about you?

Your throw defense is pretty amazing. If I was that good at stopping throws I'd probably be gold, too! Fortunately you didn't use throws against me too often, or you would have quickly realized I can't tech and you would have won every single round.

]but dat gat had fadc, invincible uppercuts, and tiger shots[/B]

I'd be curious to see what he could do in this game though

And a stupid ultra. With even a little bit of meter he did ridiculous damage. SF4 damage from the gate with Sagat was silly.

SFV's problem isn't the high damage. It's the lack of defensive options. I don't think Rog doing more damage than another character with less resources is inherently a bad thing, because every fighting game is going to have that, and characters that spend more do different things. I think the issue is outright defense needing to be buffed so that players don't get bullied all day.

Edit: Though, if they did scale back the damage, that wouldn't be too bad, but again, that goes back to the "people don't want buffs unless it's for their particular character, and everyone deserves nerfs until they don't" mentality.

I kinda wish V-Reversals weren't so inconsistent. That'd help a lot.

Getting thrown out of something that costly is a real bummer. And poor Vega...

V-Reversals suck now, you can only used them against the absolute slowest normals in the game. It's weird that they'd make one of the main defining mechanics of the game so bad.

The same thing could be done to bursts in other games and v-reversals in S1, but they were still pretty good. Capcom just went and nerfed v-reversals hard for no good reason in S2. Same with white life.

Heh, faced KBrad, Lowtiergod and then KBrad again. Names I recognize. I didn't know that KBrad had been playing around with Karin, but I guess the top players will really be messing around with the entire cast, in the end.

Also, it's nice to know that no matter which fighting game I play and which character I play in that game, they're brainless and require no skill. It's really neat.

Nope, unless I'm missing a reference here lol and the joke just flew over my head.

Haha, no joke, I actually am literally waiting for one person to have one last interview this week for a job I interviewed for and your description fit the bill so I wondered about the coincidence.

I'm hopefully hearing this week if I got a job too, so good luck to you!

To anti-air, do you guys typically look at the upper half of the screen and react to the opponent's jump, or do you look at the lower half of the screen and react to the opponent's feet leaving the ground? I tend to do the former, but I think the latter might be the better way of doing it, so I'm trying to adjust.

Longer freeze making it easier to invincible special or throw them.

They're also universally slower. The changes to them make sense as it goes along with white health = real damage change, I hate both changes but getting hit with 3 v-reversals in a single round is actually a decent substitute to using v-trigger, and that's just looking at the damage, shit better not be as easy to land.

What about v reversal which doesn't do damage like Vega and Rashid?

Cammy's is a top contender but you're right, Rashid's is really underrated.

The Rashid players I encountered like to play the waiting game for an opening to use that ridiculously high damage flying kick.

Finally bought the season 1 pass. Urien and Alex seem to be fun to use.

I hope the new character for S2 is a good one.

Switching characters between Rashid and Juri makes me head spin it's like when i use Rashid then go to Juri my reactions are still set for Rashid buttons and vice versa. I don't know how some people manage to play multiple characters at a very high level.

Since maining Birdie in Oct/Nov I've only gone back to Karin for few matches and it felt so weeeeird. I couldn't keep up, she was too responsive.

lmao I ended up on Elena in SF4 and Laura so I feel the pain (Elena wasn't the best and Laura is mid tier at best tbh tbh)

With Injustice 2's reveal being pushed back, I guess Capcom has zero competition for the Kolin/Helen reveal (if it's today).
That is, unless the counter moved back because today's the 7th.

Not a sure thing, it could be a timer issue. Also they have a watchtower stream tomorrow so it's not like they're entirely clear.

And who cares if Injustice is showing off characters lol, it's not like the game is out right now.

Capcpom hasn't put much thought when Cammy's is arguably worse as she can get hit in the middle of her v-reversal. While for Vega, you have like a frame to punish his V-reversal which can't even be thrown.

The Street Fighter Twitter account just retweeted an advertisement for Lupe Fiasco's event next Wednesday so I guess that's when we'll be getting the reveal.

I think the trailer or a demo will be there but the unity post also said info would be out this week.

thats my guess: Unity post this week (maybe trailer), demo at Lupe's event
