I've personally always found Street Fighter more fun to play and more hype to watch at FGC events.

Still respect Tekken & some of it's personalities in the scene a lot.

What time is it?
Outside of the original Soul Calibur, I've never really gotten into 3D fighters. Street Fighter is the easy choice for me.

Street Fighter 6 already looks like an improvement over SF5 at this point. For that alone, I'm buying it. Haven't bought a Tekken game in years and nothing I've seen/heard of 8 is changing that.

Which one is better? Which one is your most anticipated fighting game?

I think the Tekken trailer you're using is not representative. Look at the ones they put out recently, that seems to be a better representation of what the graphics will actually look like (ie it seems to have received a slight downgrade).

I remember people saying the Nina reveal for Tekken 8 looked especially ... meh.

I'm more of a SF guy but I really don't like anything about VI so far. Tekken looks to be really shaking things up so that at least has my attention.

I'm getting both day 1 but I'll give the nod to SFVI only because it has a release date. I'm starting to doubt if Tekken 8 is coming out this year.

Street Fighter is the only fighting game series I play so that wins for me by default.

Used to want to get into Tekken years back but now I just don't want to sink that kind of time into learning another difficult to master game.

I'm excited for both. However Street Fighter 6's mechanics I find more interesting(they're fun to use in action considering I played the betas).

Tekken has a strange history and one of family rivalry.

I've always said, in an ideal world... Jun's ideal husband is Lei wulong... At least in my mind it's canon xD.

I feel less of a change with Tekken. Tekken has sorta stayed the same since T5. While SF has gone through a lot more changes. The world of Street Fighter has always interested me. Tekken has for sure, but it feels like it can’t let go of itself to ever get rebooted. I’d love to see Tekken go back to what it was with Tekken 3. T3 was when the franchise felt well rounded. I’m sure Tekken 8 will be great. I just wish it would get a reboot.

Tekken feels like it's been the same sort of deal since Tekken 4. SF is much more open to making drastic changes to the series and have been heavily rewarded for it. The only time they didn't (SFV), it ended up being a mediocre game.

I wish Soul Calibur and Marvel v Capcom was still a thing.

Tekken easily but I’m getting both day 1. Love the period leading up to fighting game releases where they drip feed character reveals, so hype

Ive played streetfighter and tekken since they came out in the arcades then on prob on all the consoles, but stopped playing tekken 7 over a yr ago where stil play streetfighter 5, i wish sf6 didnt have a ps4 version as i feel the game graphically is getting held back by it, where tekken 8 looks amazing, plus dont like nina design in tekken 8 when cammy looks amazing in sf6, but im going sf6 as played beta and loved it and looking forward to it, where tekken at min dont think ill be buying right away, as for mk that died for me when they covered all female charachters up with a bullshit comment of they wouldnt be fighting in the old designs they would need more armour

Street Fighter edges it for me. Tekken is certainly a good game, but I haven't played it at all in recent years.

"Better" is meaningless since they represent completely different styles of game. I love Tekken so Tekken 8 is my most anticipated. SF6 looks like fun and I will probably pick it up on sale.
This. I only play Tekken and really don't care about other fighting game.

But if we looks at things like character design, combat system,.. etc. I would vote SF6. Tekken 8 has shitty character design (as always) . And fucking chip damage that almost kill the hype for me and my local tekken club.

Still gonna play it at launch though.

I honestly don't like either right now. Tekken looks boring and more of the same crap we've had for several generations now. Graphics aren't carrying it like PS1/PS2 days. SF6 has one of the worst art styles I've ever seen. The graphics are clean and animations are good, but the characters look like they're created in a porn VN engine and then somebody comes along and says "now fuck my shit up" to the faces. The game modes and gameplay look pretty good though, so if I had to pick one, I'd pick SF6.

My real answer is GBVS Rising. It's got a ton of tools to level the playing field between vets and new players, the character designs are great, the gameplay systems are interesting, it's got a great system for training new players while giving them more or less a level playing field from the start, tons of single player content, and now Rollback netcode.

Unless Tekken 8 scales back to more Tekken 5 Levels I'm not interested. Every title after Dark Resurrection has felt bloated because they don't know where to take the series.

Less customization, more characters, and a matchmaking system that can find someone in less than 10 minutes would be nice (seriously, how is the online still active with such shit matchmaking)
