Stuff your face with Cheesy Gorditas to win Vitas

So has anybody who won by entering the code online gotten a letter or an email? I won on the 29th I believe, and nothing :( I emailed their Facebook about it 2 days ago and they asked for my email and code again, but then never responded after that and still nothing.

I'm so scared I'm not going to get it.

Most all of us entered it through the site (or app, perhaps?) and we haven't heard back aside from putting in our name, e-mails, addresses, and phone numbers. The only person that seems to have heard back through e-mail was the person that won by texting in their code and winning (something I had poor luck with as my first two entries I did through that and never got a "you lost" message and instead got a "you've already entered today" when I replied YES that I was over 18). So I really wouldn't worry too much yet as it just seems that those of us that didn't text in to win are just lagging behind.

The official rules state that the e-mail will be sent to those that win through SMS for verification and also later state that a first class letter will be sent to the winners. Honestly, I haven't really considered the idea that I should receive an e-mail and I don't think you should either. Just keep your eyes on your mailbox.

I won last tuesday via entering my code on their website, and got an email on 2/3 asking for my name, address, phone number, and game choice. I got another email today telling me that they'd send me Hot Shot Golf now and send me LittleBigPlanet later as well.
 
Went to Taco Bell for $5 Box : Recieved generic bag with loose food items and beverage showcasing the promotion they ran out of boxes for. Bummer.

When you won by entering on their website did you already have to give your personal information that they then asked for again through an e-mail? Because I know I had to give all that info, minus game choice, on the website after it said I won. And I'm sure that's standard for everyone that won using the website.

Honestly I'm still not that stressed just yet. The official rules themselves say they'll send a first class notification letter to the winners and I'll keep waiting a bit for that. If the Vita launches and all of that haven't heard now STILL haven't received anything? Probably time to start showering every gaming blog site with our bitter man tears so Taco Bell feels really bad about their error.

Edit: Checking out that Facebook group Saphie dropped up there and perhaps there was a bug of some sort on the 30th? Same day I won and that seems to be thirty people in that group that all won pretty much on that day. And e-mails from Ventura (the group that actually run the sweepstakes) admitting that there might have been a problem delaying notifications for some people. Seems we all hit an ugly spot in their system. I'm still resting easy as I kept my winning box and took screenshots from when I won, something they seem to have asked for verification, but still a shitty deal if that's necessary.

I'm stressed because everywhere I turn I hear bad things about how Ventura is a shit company and so on. Who knew it could be this stressful?
 
Anyone catch what time it went to 1158?

Just as a side note, they've only given away 6 hours worth of Vitas since I first looked at the counter, 8 or 9 hours now. Weird.

EDIT: Well, either the system is a LITTLE slow updated the counter, or this kinda once and for all invalidates the theory. I mean, the chances that the trigger time for 11:30-11:45 was after I put mine at at like 11:44 and 30 seconds or so is astronomical. They probably put it in first. Disappointing, still have one more shot though.

EDIT: So tempted to put mine in now... it's 12:03, last winner was from 11:45, but I'm afraid it's gonna go into one of those long periods with no winner again.

I just get these things for lunch instead of going elsewhere, so cost isn't personally an issue, but man I'm burning out on eating the same thing. The manager let me use the display box's code as a freebie, and I'm shocked it hadn't already been used when I tried it.

The app is incredibly unstable. I put in a code last night and the 'Submit' button did nothing. When I tried again, it stalled again and eventually gave me a "You already entered today." screen. When I texted it, it said the code had been used. Unless there's a website for the codes, I think I'll stay with texting.

(The burrito is my favorite)

Well you're technically only allowed one entry per day, so that's probably why it said you already entered. The AR game counts as an entry, then the code. It shouldn't tell you the code was used though, that's weird.
 
I've been stacking them. It's just this one instance. It took the code, but never rendered the win/lose page.
 
I'll probably buy one or two more boxes while the contest is going on, but man I don't think I have it in me to eat these tacos and gordita crunches that often. Ugh.

Wonder if one were to join that group without actually winning, and just mimic what everyone else was saying, could land a free Vita. It could work, if that group gets noticed by Sony/Taco Bell. I wouldn't do that, though. Too afraid of getting caught doing stuff like that.

I've been watching the counter, and I really think Shadow's theory still holds:

10:00PM - Winner @ 10:03PM

10:15PM - No Winner (no codes must have been entered)

10:30PM - Winner @ 10:41 AND 10:42

Two winners within the 10:30-10:45 bracket because nobody entered a code within the 10:15-10:30 time bracket. I've literally been refreshing once per minute (sad, but I'm bored lol). I'll update you guys with more info. I'm going to watch it a bit longer. I'm determined to win lol.

Yeah it holds over a short period, but when you track it throughout the day, there are 15 minute periods (or longer) that seem to just get skipped sometimes. There's been two different long periods of either no winner or just one winner today. But, when winners are happening every 15-30 minutes, his method still does seem solid. Let me know before you're about to use one, I'm checking this thread regularly and I don't want to take it or have you take mine haha.


EDIT: Also, are you sure the one was taken at 10:42 (PST right?)? I wanna be sure if I use my code here that there is a separate 45-00 slot

I've noticed the same thing.

My thinking is this: Whether by buying them, or by asking the guy for extras, if you could snag 10 codes, you'd have VERY good chances of winning.

Basically, wait until 40 after the hour. And then proceed to enter a code (with a different email address) every 60-120 seconds. There's a VERY good chance that there will be a winner between X:41 and X:51 judging by the info that we have. It's basically a matter of getting the first code when it resets between those times.

Obviously, there's still A LOT of chance in the mix; but I can't help but think it'd be a fairly good shot of winning.

They've been asking people for their winning codes to verify. You'd have a tougher time to fake that one.
 
Thanks for that link to the Facebook group! I sent a second email off to them, providing as much info and proof that I had. I also pointed them to the group so that they can have as much information they need about getting this taken care of.

I still won't rest assured until it's here.

@Flunkie Np I figured if we get more people it can help with data collection on the winners and even if you don't want to join it will probably be updated with info or in the very least give people the peace of mind that it isn't just them lol

I'd love to see someone win again, it would give me hope and encourage me to try one more time.
 
Turns out I won on the 30th and not the 29th like I thought, which puts me in the same boat as everyone else who won on that day and haven't gotten anything. Wonder why that day was so screwed up for the winners.
 
Didn't win, the method definitely isn't perfect. No winner since 12:42 should have guaranteed it, plus there was a very good chance I should have won the 1-1:15 time slot too.

Guess I'll try again tomorrow

You've got a good chance of winning if you do now, but I personally would wait until 4 minutes after the next beginning time, so it's pretty much a guarantee.

12:45-1 AM - no winner

1-1:15 AM- no winner yet



I almost feel like emailing them to complain. I SHOULD have won! Winner for every 15 minutes my ass, haha. One more day of Taco Bell won't kill me, I guess, but I only have one other email address I didn't use.
