The main character of the game is Succubus, a wild and lustful demon. The players were able to learn a part of her story in the original Agony and Agony UNRATED, where she received her own single player campaign.

With the disappearance of the legitimate rulers of Hell, the remaining demons recognized Nimrod as their ruler, because he was the only soul who could dominate the mind of the mighty Beast. By raising his new empire from the corpses of sinners, the new king, along with his new queen Succubus, managed to control the chaos left by the former rulers.

The new title didn't fit the Succubus. The life of luxury and walking on rugs sewn from the skins of martyrs was not for her though, and so she has chosen a life in the wilderness of Hell.

During her travels, the new queen meets the powerful Baphomet who, together with his army, is going to get the soul of Nimrod. Captured, maimed and betrayed by her own species, the Succubus is left with only one goal that matters – revenge!

I don't think the company made any profit on Agony, so to go straight to a sequel seems odd.

Cool. I enjoyed Agony despite it's faults. I absolutely loved the art and this looks like more of it so it's on my list to check out. I applaud them for continuing this after such a rough start with Agony.

as far i as know agony had a hide/seek kind of gameplay with monsters right? you didn't get to fight them if i'm not mistaken.
The fact that you can fight back in this game is really interesting, despite the fact that i don't love first person melee in general.

That's just part of it.
I like the idea of a straightforward demonic rage outlet time waster like this.

Even so, even for me the game could use some mechanical/visual improvements.
Doesn't need much more for my needs though.

I applaud them for making a different game in the Agony universe. I think it's always cool to see a different style game set in the same universe.

However, early or not, I can't help but feel like that "jank" is still going to be present up to release. Just like it was with Agony. Like it just needs to sit in the oven a bit longer.

I was thinking the same. A third-person in the style of the Silent Hill series would be a lot more interesting. And...you'd actually get to look at your Succubus. Idk I played Agony UNRATED and found it lackluster as all hell. I hope they can at least fulfill their promises with this one.

If the animation are bad then being third person is gonna look even worse, in third person game you better have good animation. This why for most small team its much easier and cheaper to make first person hunted house horror games.

Not gonna trust these guys after the shitshow that was Agony. While I love the imagery and themes of this kind of hellscape, the dip in quality from what was originally shown to the awful final product of the first game was so severe that it killed any potential hype I had for any of their future games. Gonna give this one a wide berth until I can see for myself whether they learned from their initial mistakes. The latest gameplay footage doesn't look promising at all.
