Personally, I'll be really surprised if the official release of Windows 10 comes and goes without some Xbox One games going universal. It would be a pretty nice perk for consumers and it would no doubt net larger game communities and digital purchases for MS. The only people who lose out are console warriors, and who really gives a fuck about them?
Something like that would make sense for Microsoft, only it two conditions were met:
1) It would only apply to digital.
2) Any "Cross-buy" games would have to be exclusive to the Xbox Store.
This type of setup would allow Microsoft to push its digital games initiative, as it would provide an incentive for console owners to purchase the digital version rather than the disc version.
The second point would ensure that MS didn't lose the royalty revenue from the sale.
Even if well implemented, it would still be a difficult sell due to the poor launch and overall maintenance of the GFWL store (and its subsequent failure). The target consumer remembers that sort of thing.
Details would also have to be worked out with publishers, in terms of sales credit for the "free" game license. And it likely wouldn't work in reverse (from PC -> XBO) if you bought from a 3rd party reseller.
I'm not saying it's a slam dunk, but the framework (and business incentive) are there for MS to as least investigate.
So what exactly are you refuting? What's your point here?
"and mutliplatform games or porting games to PC endangers the future development of these games."
No, not multi-platform games, just exclusives.
Use some common sense and think about the types of gamers that buy GTA in droves and tell me you honestly think they'd migrate over to gaming PCs. Without consoles, all of those games I mentioned would either not be made or be a shell of what they currently are.
But how could you know that? Let's assume there was never another console after the PS1 but gaming kept growing on PC, those gamers wouldn't take an interest in PC as a way to game, ever? Thus of course growing a market for higher budget titles like there are that come from console audiences now.
I'm just saying, it really doesn't matter what platform it is. If there's customers, there's money.
Whoever mentioned Windows 10 is right on target. The PC is also a Microsoft platform and MS wants to improve gaming support on the PC as well as Xbox and Windows phone.
I would be shocked if SO didn't make it to the PC eventually. But it will be after sales of the game on Xbox have stagnated... 6-12 months later.
My experience with all the denials of games going to PC or PlayStation over this generation and last generation is not to believe anything they comes out of the mouth of someone who signs on the dotted line. They can deny it all they want but I do expect a PC version and to a lesser extent a PS4 version down the line.
We have plenty of examples of this happening three this generation already and at least 15 last generation.
They need to prove it without a shadow of doubt it will never come to PC by publishing the contract for all of us to see. Then I will believe them.
You are going to see this throughout the whole span of the generation for XB1 games. Lots of people want to play a certain game or two but no interest in the console otherwise.
It doesn't matter what platform SO comes to, MS will get money off of every single copy sold. Just like they make money off the PC versions of Titanfall,Ryse,etc....
This is common game publishing knowledge.

But yeah, Xbone exclusives have had a long and illustrious history of denying that they're getting a PC version, and then getting a PC version. Assume Sunset Overdrive is getting a PC port in the new year.

2015 is going to be nuts for co-op shooters. We already have Evolve and Killing Floor 2 coming early 2015, with a possible Division release later in the year. On top of SO and Destiny port rumors.
I dispute that "all" heavily. Let's go through your list, shall we?
- GTA: a franchise which started on PC, and is now a Moloch infinitely consuming production values. I'll give you this one, in its current form.
- AC: you can have this one as well!
- CoD: originally already a successful PC franchise, and its core draw does not require massive budgets.
- Battlefield: same as above.
- Borderlands: it's basically a loot game, a genre which thrives on PC.
- Bioshock: a worse version of System Shock 2, which was a PC game.
- Mass Effect: these don't sell in numbers that would make me think the require the extended console base.
- Dragon Age: the first one of these was in development as a PC exclusive for the longest time. After the second one, built from the ground up as a multiplatform title, I think most agree that going back to the "shell" which was the first game would be better.
- Souls games: DS2 probably sold almost as well on PC as it did on PS3, and that's with a late port and 2 console versions available.
I think that's good enough to emulate the X1. You should be fine after Microsoft gives the source code for the X1 after they shut down the Xbox division.
It is the point. At this time, there are no plans to make SO for the PC but as sales slow on XB1, it makes a lot of sense for MS to support one of their other platforms. It helps MS and the developers and doesn't hurt XB1 who had the game for many months by itself.

Surprise, after being shown devs denying previous XB1 exclusives would ever go multiplatform, people like yourself continue acting as if a denial means anything other then 'not right now'.
PC already has this...it's called Metro. And we don't have to pay a yearly fee for it. Last time MS tried to push a yearly fee to game on PC, it didn't go in their favor because EVERY OTHER GAMING SERVICE WAS FREE.
Turn your pc into the entertainment box like xbone... All movie apps etc

They didn't publish either of those. EA published TF on all platforms, Crytek self-published the digital PC version and Deep Sliver published the retail version.
If you use the xb1 for media then it's one of the best devices for the living room, if not the best. Even gaming wise it isn't that inferior when you factor in the ui and online experience. Many games have the same specs.
To stay on topic, I think this ad is a simple error and that SO isn't likely to go to pc.
Oh what? It's one of the worst for that price tag.
Even a 100 bucks Linux receiver has more multimedia features and apps.. And with an external hdd you can record all your favorite shows.
And this is just a small selection, there are hundreds of channels / portals you can add

I love how the PC gamers are never banned for saying such things but when console gamers say things likes "I hope it doesn't come to PC", they get banned. Oh god, what a bias.
This is a calculated strategy by MS since we know they obviously have the money to keep these games exclusive but chose not to.
They just did it with Halo Spartan Assault. They did it with Super Time Force,Ori and the Blind Forest,etc... All games they funded that are getting PC releases.
Phil Spencer flat out said they're focusing on PC gaming:
PC gamers can expect to see tier-1 initiatives for PC gaming from Microsoft beginning this summer.
Two of those I'll give you. One of which may be able to steal some thunder since 343 stumbled and went "don't worry, it's 'kay. We got a classic 'remaster' on the way for you guys!" and the other may/may not break out depending on how Remedy does. The other two... system sellers... really? *tries to stifle laughter*
I mean I want to try Sunset Overdrive, but it's not making me want to buy an X-box 720, sorry.
Phantom Dust is, but that would work sooooo much better on PC/Steam if I could modify things to try out skills/etc.
