i'm hoping it's not too expensive.

Yeah, you are right. To be fair this is not a remaster. This is more like a remake, no? Looks stunning. Wow with those min specs.
After two decades, Nightdive Studios is rebooting and re-imagining the original System Shock. We will keep the new game true to the classic experience, keeping all the things you loved while giving today's gamers the modern look and feel expected from a great game.
Those kinds of Kickstarters are the exception, not the normi'm amazed that they have this much gameplay already! So many Kickstarters only sell dreams and hopes of concept art without hiring a single programmer![]()
This looks amazing
But on the flipside, those corridors seem very boxy and kind of same-y. How varied were the areas in the original game? Never played it

I just hope they change zombie's models, they look like dummies.

Is the new System Shock project by Warren Spector and OtherSide Entertainment a different game to this one?
Sorry for the stupid question, but I'm confused.
Maybe the guys at Polygon almost never use a mouse for gaming? The game itself looks awesome, though. I can imagine it being even more fun for competent players.
no mention of ps4 anywhere
platforms on website are steam and xbone
No demo for Xbox One today?
So X1 backers don't get to try what they're backing but PC backers do? Seems unfair.

Yes, they're remaking the first one and making a sequel with Warren Spector.
Plenty of games and tech products do this. It helps speed development and acquire venture capital.when is the full game expected?
If they're having a kickstarter to 'raise funds for development' that suggests the game is far out. But then any demo would almost be just a tech demo.
If the demo is a properly playable slice of the game that could suggest development is quite far along. In which case why bother with a kickstarter?
Confused. Will probably back anyway

Strange, it is made with Unity so they could just make it playable on everything.

I want that <3
Even as a sticker.
Also, do we know when the Kickstarter will launch?
It was looking so finished I was hoping it was a 2016 game, but I'm still 100% on board. Bring on the KickStarter!
I'd guess that they've focusing on a particular area of the game so they can polish it to a sheen and thus offer a solid example of what to expect.
It looks a lot like the actual beginning area of System Shock 1, so it could be that area is basically an early part of the final game. Vertical slice implies that you get something that touches on all important bits, but might not appear in the final game in that sort.A vertical slice is what they call it in the game industry.

In 2 hours I believe.
is it confirmed there will be no xbone demo ?
Feeling nostalgic and want to replay the original version, but with mouse controls since I doubt playing without those will be fun nowadays.
Haven't really played it since the 90s, and it was one of my first PC game, along with Wing Commander 3 and Bioforge(had some box including all 3 Origin games).
Anyone got a link to share for that? Hopefully the mouse controls are well implemented.
QFT. Kickstarters that launch with nothing but concept art seem to have a way of disappointing their fans (sometimes even when they come out decent, just because they don't fit with expectations). When they launch with a solid demo, they seldom disappoint. It goes a long way.Very smart to launch a demo along with the Kickstarter. This looks promising so far.

I will be playing this and likely backing it. It's a game that stands to gain a lot from a modernized interface, and holds up really well otherwise.
The only exception I've made was for Battletech, and only because Harebrained has a proven track record with delivering with Kickstarters and for translating their concept art to gameplay pretty wellQFT. Shouldn't the Kickstarter be up by now?
