THIS. Even the most highly imported games (like Ouendan on the DS) don't sell more than a few thousand copies outside of Japan.
If you are not living in Japan, you are NOT the target audience for this game. And Capcom doesn't care if you can't play it. I am positive the region-free thing has never come up at one of their board meetings. It would never be a bullet point in their power point. From a sales perspective, you do not matter.
Totally hardcore import gamers already know how to get this running on their non-Japanese Wii. The only ones who will be missing out are this tiny, tiny group of "Casual Import Gamers" who also happen to be big fans of vintage anime.
There must be... dozens.. of them.
But perhaps if people whine enough Capcom will realize the potential Tens of Hundreds of dollars they could be making from that demographic.
