While I love CS, I would never describe it as a team-based game. It's about as team-based as Call of Duty.
Yea if you just play team death match sure...

Team multiplayer is part of the reason I can't get into modern shooters. Nothing like good old Quake/Unreal Deathmatch Free-for-All against a dozen players.
Truth. With six players there's five coin flips whether you get an idiot on your team in every match.
People aren't as big of assholes IRL and most likely have some sort of sportsmanship in them if they regularly practice a sport.

Why are you trying to tell people how they should play a game? Are people only allowed to enjoy themselves in ways that you approve of?
You've never played sports or done anything competitive ever?
That doesn't make any sense. If someone wants to take it seriously they can. Because to those people it's fun to them. I don't know why you are removing the two elements and why it's so embarassing to play competitively.
Hi, I'm going to play Sym now and place this teleporter by a ledge.
Oh, hi, I'm a Widowmaker main. You don't need me right now but I'm here so get over it.
Hello there, I'm a Torb player that loves to stay Torb on Attack.
Don't mind me, just playing Bastion. Out in the open.
This has been me over the last 6-7 years i recently went back to CSGO with a friend and was immediately reminded why i hate competitive games that require teamwork because out of about 170 games maybe 1/10 games we would get like 2 people who had a mic and listened and wanted to play as a team but most of the time it's just fucking trolls, alts, people wanting to de-level etc.I much prefer cooperative games than competitive. That's just me though
But this is the inherent problem with team based games it's that the majority of games you join you have those guys who run around doing their own thing costing you the match. This isn't some rare instance that happens 1/100000000 games. Go play 50 siege competitive games, 50 overwatch competitive games and then 50 CSGO competitive games and tell me how many of those games you had everyone working as a team because i would be surprised and fucking shocked if you said more than 1.The point of Team Based multiplayer is to play as a team, if you have a guy running around doing his own thing, than obviously he is to blame. That doesn't make team based modes horrible though...
They flourish in true team environments, much like any professional sport, when you actually have 2 well practiced teams against one another, it can be truly exciting.

Nah. I'll keep enjoying my wins and not being mad at my teammate's losses.
If anything we need a "fighter" that's team/objective based, to take the edge off loses that turns people away form the genre. Hoping For Honor is a success.
Not every single genre needs to be dominated by cooperative/team-based concepts. One can prefer teams, but that's coming at the price of those who prefer 1v1 more and more nowadays.

The existence of 1 or 2 team games wouldn't take away from the traditional type.
For 1v1 in the genre we have MKX KI GG SF TK KOF and they won't go anywhere and we'll still have EVO and the like. I'm just asking for 1 good game of the team type.
Siege has some of the most compelling gameplay. You just gotta take the time to friend good people and make parties with them.

Found out about this third option through DSP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2z_lBJvOoMI've decided, it's the absolute worst.
There's something pure and beautiful about the harshness and savagery of 1v1 competitive multiplayer. When you lose there's only two directions you can point your frustration:
1) At your opponent - fortunately, this is generally frowned upon and ridiculed under any number of names like "Johns" or "Salt".
2) At yourself.
(I mean technically there's a third option in the game itself, but it generally leads to people not playing the game anymore)
