It's weird that so many people are reporting 1 dead and 2 arrests while BFMTV has nothing and keeps analysing the stuff we already know (I bet they're bored and desperate for new news to report, lol)

Tbh i think it's just american news reporting every shit they find on twitter and claim sources (As they always do). Unless french media confirms they're lying.

As a Muslim myself, I feel so ashamed of my culture, ashamed that my culture sprouted this bullshit that costed lives of innocent people.

You shouldn't be ashamed of YOUR culture. These people do NOT represent you or your culture. As someone who grew up in a Muslim family, these people definitely don't represent my culture and never fucking will. They're scum.

Muslims world wide need to condemn these attacks, but that's hard to achieve when this type of thinking is on the rise in the Middle East--ISIS and such attack the things they fear most, education itself and educated individuals(especially so, educated females). It's easier to manipulate people into your way of thinking when they're not educated, and those reasons have a lot of poor, uneducated people which makes it easy.

Just talking about all this is difficult--truly, I really just wish these people would be wiped out and these disgusting acts of violence would stop. Though I get your point, it's incredibly hard growing up as a Muslim and watching all this occur. These people are sick.

Jesus christ, Donald. Shut the fuck up.

Yeah, let's take a tragedy and use it as a time to promote political ideologies. Fuck this guy so much.

Yeah.

A guy I know who lives right next to the theatre of operations tells me there is no activity, apart from the neighbourhood folks who are in the street.

There are apparently in the "wanted list" (avis de recherche national) so they may have not been caught yet and not they may not even be in Reims.

"The idiots! They've sent them our way!"
"We have an eternity to piss them off now!"
I really like this one!
I know, but the Socialists have a history of refusing all kind of dialogue with the Front National, as they deem them to be Satan incarnate. I'm not complaining, though. By doing this, Hollande is acting as a true head of State.

Great showing by everyone here.
Seriously I'm proud of them here.

"Allez vous faire foutre" could be use for one personne, in a polite way ;)

The real thing Is "va t'faire foutre"

Actually I'd say it's more : va t'faire enculer.
I mean the tone is more there than with just your proposition.

I would seriously question whether Donald Trump has ever shot a gun in his life. I have, and I don't want the stress of being responsible for one, and wouldn't understand why anyone who doesn't hunt would.

Thanks for the kind words, it's just awful that people do this horrible stuff and say they do it to defend my culture.

No problem. *hugs*

Seriously, I think anyone that is rational, will understand that people of this religion also suffer during events like this. That ignorant/scared people can take it out on good folks like yourself. I'm really sorry you have to go through this. But again, just know not everyone thinks that way. That plenty of people see you as a kind/peaceful person, and doesn't associate extremists with yourself, and the faith you practice.

I think again, it's important to talk about the culture, and the problems tied to the religion. It's good to have that conversation (especially if you are of that religion). But you shouldn't feel ashamed on a personal level, or feel any guilt. You did nothing wrong.

Yes people need to condemn it but not say I as a muslim condemn it becsuse you are giving the islamophobes exactly what they are looking for so do it as a human being than as a muslim

Obviously everyone should just be strapped whenever they do anything! Go to work, bring a gun. Go to the zoo, bring a gun. FUCK the crazy right wing in this country. Can't wait for the crazy right wingers on this board to support this shit.

Do you honestly blame them for not wanting to risk the lives of their staff? I wouldn't want to make that call, no matter how much I might value free speech.

Honestly? A little. If there was evidence of a direct and immediate threat, then sure, but this is more 'if we print this we might possibly maybe attacked." A major news source should be prepared to report the story, despite the risk. Plenty of reporters have risked much more NBC should at least be brave enough to show a picture.

You guys really need to stop quoting that dumb Donald Trump image and giving him attention, even if he doesn't know it. This is what he wants.

Just seems completely fucked up to take a tragedy, and then try to push your political ideologies. There is so many things we could talk about (trying to understand how this happened. The issues we as a society face. The issues that religion and the culture faces). People are upset, grieving. But people are also trying to understand, and look for solutions.

Trying to take a tragedy and using it to scare people, and push a completely separate agenda, is just in real real poor taste. I get Trump is an asshole, so yeah...it's not like it's unexpected. But it still pisses me off. Fuck him.

The Guardian’s Kim Willsher, in Paris, says:

There is a rumour that one of the gunmen has been killed in the police raid. I cannot confirm this. The France 2 journalist Hugo Clément who is at the scene says there has been NO information given about arrests or deaths. “The only certain thing is that there’s a raid”, he writes.

iTele, a French news channel, have said that the police raid is not a full-scale assault seeking to make arrests, but a search for DNA samples and other evidence.

Ugh. Come on now, get these scumbags.

Not even the headlines? Wow...

And yet the newspapers and news channels show the images of the officer being murdered. Nothing offensive about that right?
I think alot of the images that have been posted would be offensive to Muslims in the sense that the depictions are just generally offensive. Not that they should be completely censored. Though, I think they should show them, they're not showing them because they're scared of retaliation, they're not showing them because they're offensive to Muslims generally.

Uh....what? In what world does it make sense, to kill millions of innocent people, because a small minority of extremists associated with a religion are causing chaos. There are plenty of people of this religion that are kind, loving and peaceful. We have people on GAF of this religion.

The idea you are talking about (even if it comes out of anger, or fear)...is not a path we should go down (or talk about). I think it's absolutely important to look at the reasons why these things are happening. To look at the religion. To look at the culture surrounded by it. To try to figure out why this religion is having these issues. But attacking the religion on a whole, when MILLIONS of people on this earth of this religion, and are peaceful people, is not the way to go about it.

Personally, I think now is precisely the right time to question the French gun laws and find nothing wrong but what he says... :/
How so? Look at how many shootings there are in France compared to countries with loose gun laws. In the US you have the police killings kids because they think they are armed. It's a damn knee-jerk reaction.

Don't go that way. A few people holding a Beretta couldn't have done shit against kalashnikovs in trained hands. It's not worth the price and the associated risks. But I should not derail the thread, that would be doing Trump too much of a favor...

A BFMTV guest said the authorities would never waste RAID troops (or the GIGN) on stakeouts/collecting clues. They only intervene in places where the target's presence has been confirmed.
