As someone pointed out, they took away people's unlocks for a couple of days when they used the unlocker (at least for scout), and I thought that was fair. I seem to recall the blog insulting them heavily as well, which was funny.
Also, Javaman's argument was that if you have 8v8 or 12v12 engineers on a normal map, how are you going to get your achievements "normally", and who is going to find that a lot of fun? We'll probably have those kinds of numbers anyway when people want to try out their weapons. I figure on an achievement map, people can at least be goofing off and you can get them "legitimately" that way without actually coercing other people into being your targets as much. Does that make sense? If you do a little working together with people it's not the end of the world either, and seems even more part of the game than an achievement unlocker program or an external idler to me. *shrug*
I seem to recall it taking me forever for the demo (I'm a bad demo and it's hard until you get the eyelander etc.), and possibly a good while for a couple of the other classes too. It's tough for me if I only have 3-4 hours to play in an evening, and I'm afraid there's going to be some overpowered weapon only available for a day or two that I want to try. ;_;Boonoo said:The achievements are actually pretty fun. I can't understand people farming them. It only takes a couple hours of normal play to get all three milestones anyway.
