I once had a drag queen hitting on me up in the Castro . . . it was fucked up because . . . well he was really pretty hot . . . your brain gets all confused . . . especially when you've had a few drinks. Not sure about the term katoey being a non-derogatory term -- and it's pronounced ga-thuy. I grew up in Thailand from grades 1-3 and I always thought 'Katoey,' was a derogatory term. I've never heard it used in a positive light, but then again, my Thai communication is very limited nowadays, and also for the last 10+ years.

Going to a Thai festival in Tokyo today. I hope the few Thai chicks there are chicks.

Is it really that big of a deal once they're post-op? If they've got a vagina, have had hormone therapy to make their looks/face look more like their actual gender as opposed to the one they were born with, what's the problem?

I've been to Thailand before.
My tour guide calls them ladyboys or swaiythiengthiengs (spelling?).
I went to a lady boy musical called the Tiffany Show.
All the ladyboys look like women.
Thailand has some of the best plastic surgeons.

Last I checked they couldn't give a transexual ovaries and a uterus so yeh to me personally thats kind of a big deal.

To me? Yes.
That is something that I feel someone should to be upfront about, especially if it's a case where it's hard to tell.

When I was in Thailand the ladyboys I saw were pretty obvious. I never saw girls like these. Or maybe I did but didn't know it. But the ladyboys I ran into were quite obviously men at one point.
