Hopefully they saved 99% of the seasons budget for the final episode…
Well the rumors were that the season supposed to have 13 episodes or something originally.this is the weirdest "final season" of anything I've watched really, it feels like we're at the halfway point but there's only one left....I'm guessing marie will play a major role in restraining homelander while they try to kill/depower him; the end.
It doesn't make any sense, why would she want that?Next time I do something reason-defying and completely fucking stupid in real life, my response is going to be: "It's what Clara would have wanted." I'll say it a second time next episode (or whatever) because...maybe, with repetition, this explanation will render whatever I did seem less...reason-defying and completely fucking stupid.
Well to be fair I expected the Soldier Boy to do what he has done.Next time I do something reason-defying and completely fucking stupid in real life, my response is going to be: "It's what Clara would have wanted." I'll say it a second time next episode (or whatever) because...maybe, with repetition, this explanation will render whatever I did seem less...reason-defying and completely fucking stupid.
I feel like Soldier Boy WAS well-written...and the character IS totally goofy/useless in the books (so worlds apart, given the show variant). Yet, I guess because of the prequel series to come and how he sort-of has to be a protagonist because of that, they just don't know what to do with him in this season's plot and his presence is a bit...uneven.But it is pretty clear that at this point the only decently written character is the Soldier Boy himself.
Just my opinion, but it's the reverse of Somerset's bit at the end of Seven: "Ernest Hemmingway once wrote, 'The world is a fine place and worth fighting for.' I agree with (change) the first part."despite the original comics being not that great, they still managed to make every character so much worse
I think the show leaned into the eugenics Nazi stuff a bit too much and just decided, because Soldier Boy was so into Clara, he also believed in a supreme race or...whatever...because she did. So, make blond, blue-eyed super-man immortal, I guess? I'm just attempting to rationalize. In reality, I'm not really sure what they're doing because if Soldier Boy is going to be the lead in a series - and a Nazi-sympathizer (not the silly internet version of "Nazi," but real fucking Nazi) - I don't know how they're going to manage that. Oh well: not my problem. I'll tune-in to see what's what and if it sucks, I'll bail.It doesn't make any sense, why would she want that?
She was a nazi who thought homelander would be the leader of the master race of supes or whatever. i think it doesn't really make sense why soldier boy likes her so much though. he seems like the type that would be put off by her ideology. It doesn't make any sense, why would she want that?
Are they going to use a spin off canceled character to beat homelander or what
Well the Solider boy in the comics is last third generation while this one seems to be based on the first generation. The writing has been steadily declining since the first season. Writers could not get rid of their TDS.I feel like Soldier Boy WAS well-written...and the character IS totally goofy/useless in the books (so worlds apart, given the show variant). Yet, I guess because of the prequel series to come and how he sort-of has to be a protagonist because of that, they just don't know what to do with him in this season's plot and his presence is a bit...uneven.
Another one of those tropes that does not look interesting in almost every implementation (a weak character defeating a strong one by themselves/using some power and so on). Sometimes it works with charismatic and popular characters but by and large it is often lame. They're probably gonna use that to depower him.
I think it'd be a pretty cool ending if the show ends up with homelander alive but depowered and having to deal with being a powerless nobody. No, looks like Sage helped recreate the experiment which gave Soldier Boy his super power sapping blast successfully on Kimiko. They're probably gonna use that to depower him.
This has already completely diverted from the comic storyline so it won't end the same way.
So, last call, what are everyone's predictions for who lives, who dies, and how they meet their end?
Here's mine:
11 Live
- Deep - Dies - by fish (probably goofy death)
- Soldier Boy - Lives - Remains frozen
- Oh Father - Dies - Ashley somehow
- Ashley - Lives - Leaves after killing Oh Father
- Dogknott - Dies - Somehow MM kills him
- Sage - Lives - Avoids fight entirely
- Hughie - Lives - Saved by Starlight
- Annie - Dies - Dies saving Hughie
- Mother's Milk - Lives - Because Frenchie died
- Kimiko - Dies - New power removes healing factor
- Ryan - Lives - Avoids fight entirely
- Marie - Lives - Downgraded to small cameo
- Stan Edgar - Lives - left in cell for rest of life
- Stan's grandaughter - Lives - Leaves with Ryan
- Butcher - Dies - Dies Fighting Homelander
- Homelander - Lives - Becomes forever powerless/human
- Maeve - Lives - Small cameo in aftermath
6 Die
3 Who live are in a captive/stuck state
This season has no flow to it. It feels so disjointed. It's like they have a bunch of characters this season there only for specific reasons to advance the plot and once they do it, they just write them out it.
The latest in this episode being Soldier Boy. They had no further use for him once he gave Homelander the V1 so it's like I guess we'll write him out by putting him back to sleep. I'll be pleasantly surprised if he makes a return in the final episode but I don't know if he will. Given the developments with Kimiko, Soldier Boy is kind of useless now to the plot. Feels like that's the end of his arc until the spinoff.
Homelander either did something to him or he died from the uranium and radiation. The fact that didn't clarify is just further evidence of the bad writing this season.I was never a big fan of the show, I only watched it due to Homelander and Soldier Boy. I'm curious on how they will kill off Homelander since we have one more episode left and there hasn't really been that many hints regarding his death
As for Frenchie, how did he die? They only showed his body and his bleeding legs. I was kind of lost on that
After the last episode of The Boys airs next week, I'm done with anything involving The Boys IP. I might check out the comic though
The season was written and filmed pre-2024 election. Anything that has been accurately depicted through parody has been through coincidence.I also predict the episode will spend most of its runtime with more Homelander is literally Trump political commentary bullshit as if the show hasn't fucked up the last two seasons by constantly beating you over the head with this shit already.

Extreme radiation.Homelander either did something to him or he died from the uranium and radiation. The fact that didn't clarify is just further evidence of the bad writing this season.
The fights are just terrible. They only last a few seconds and look cheap. i am really scared of the finale.
Can't Homelander just Destory the Earth or someting, so that this shit show is finally over. At least that would be something after this pointless Season 5. So my predication 0 alive. So, last call, what are everyone's predictions for who lives, who dies, and how they meet their end?

Because the Samuel L. Jackson Shark thinks Deep caused that pipeline leak and told him that if he ever sets foot into any kind of water again the sealife will kill him.Why was the deep being a weirdo in that episode and wouldn't save the person.
Oh completely forgot that dumb sceneBecause the Samuel L. Jackson Shark thinks Deep caused that pipeline leak and told him that if he ever sets foot into any kind of water again the sealife will kill him.
In my head black noir was gonna take that on the chin (no pun intended) and beat his fucking ass. And then he just bled out... I dunno... Didn't seem right.I know the deep has more strength than a normal human but how he killed black noir seemed ridiculous. Like a tiny knife? Come on. I never thought the deep was that strong either, he knocked himself out when he crashed that fish in one of the earlier series.
Seen mini gun bounce off this guy.
This show has become pure shit.
Starlight Hughie and MM live
Homelander DEAD
Preacher dead
2 headed lady lives
DEEP lives- takes over the 7
smart girl - dead
soldier boy dies kills homelander or helps kill him
kimiko - lives
Butcher Dies
Homelander kid lives but is good.
Well critics had access to the 1st 7 episodes, so I wouldn't necessarily trust episode 8 leaks. The leaks are out there and after the death of the president being part of said leak I'm not sure what to expect next week lol
To be fair, that's what is expected to happen. It will be a lame ending, but not GOT S8 disaster. Still I don't see anything success in the Boys universe.I really hope the obvious setup for some sort of team-up to take out Homelander doesn't happen. Kimiko to partially depower him, Starlighter to stand their glowing being useless, butcher to hold him down or something, and Maria to make him explode.
Yeah that was my point, it's so painfully obvious that it's the setup for the episode. With some sort of variation on what I said of course as TBH I think it's also possible Maria just disappears for the finale and it's still possible Butcher also has to be put down. Kimiko probably won't survive the fight either. To be fair, that's what is expected to happen. It will be a lame ending, but not GOT S8 disaster.
