As one of the dirty immigrants that the dutch hate why not chime in and say
Dutch people just lack political correctness and combine that with a sort of bluntness that would offend the shit out of most americans at least 40 times in their first years stay. Their WK ads with respect to the germans are kind of funny but really walk the line of mean spirited and their treatment of germans in general is pretty terrible. Don't think they are racist though, just really hate the neighbour country and take the rivalry a little far.

To you dutchies voting, what's wrong with PvdA? From my patchy understanding they are sort of 'centre left' which is how I usually vote, but have they got some really unpopular policies this time round?
Also CDA is screwed right? Hope so, I don't like anything with the word 'christian' being in power.

D66 here, SGP, CU and CDA are a non-option by default (get your religion out of my government dammit), GL, PVV, PVDD and TON are also ruled out by default on account of being idiots who can't debate for shit. PvdA changes ideologies faster than I can change a pair of pants, VVD has no social politics whatsoever and whatever remains other than D66 is pure shite.

Wilders and Co - are hard right assholes. Groene Links is well... links.
VVD - is right, but not as right as wilders (by a mile probably)
CDA - I think is centre right?
PvdA - centre left
Groene Links - lefty hippies more than PvdA
and so on. Actually there was a questionaire recently that told you who you should vote for based on your ideas. Wish I could remember where that was. It told me I would be closest to PvdA.

You are right that the parties do fit some general position, but honestly in other countries being left or right is pretty clear cut. I doubt anyone over here votes for a party for the sake of being left or right.catfish said:

The US have had stringent immigration policies that would only allow immigrants with money who would be able to find jobs. Since there was no welfare for these immigrants, if these people couldn't get work they had to go back home.
The EU got millions of immigrants without any real education who could only work in low-skilled labor jobs. When they got unemployed they were takeen care off by a generous welfare system for the rest of their lives, even if they had worked only for a couple of years (or even months). It also makes a huge difference where your immigrants are coming from. In general Asians (by which I specifically mean Indians, Chinese, Koreans, Vietnamese) integrate a lot quicker than many other immigrant groups. They also excel in education which means they don't have problems in finding work when they graduate. Most immigrants in the EU are from muslim countries or Africa and they find it a lot more difficult to integrate compared to many Asian immigrants. Even their children aren't fluent in the language of their new country, they generally perform not as well at school, there are far more high school drop outs, there's more crime, etc.
It's too easy to say that Europeans are racist who keep those poor immigrants down. Each and every immigrant has access to the same education system as every native European.
