Inventory item textures not loading correctly happens on my ps3 also.
Dachande said:I installed it to the HDD on my 360 too, and I'm seeing really bad textures all over the place. I thought the game just looked terrible before I saw this thread.
Here's an image I just took on my 4S, no way are these properly loaded textures:

Jhriad said:Looks like they need to adjust the brightness on the PS3 version via the ingame menu. Otherwise the only really noticeable difference I'm seeing offhand is that tower in the bottom picture seems a bit sharper in the PS3 pic.
The install is 3.8 apparently and my biggest USB at the moment is 3.77Eiji said:I'm playing on 360 via USB install. Textures load properly.

Iirc there was some sort of patch upon booting up the ps3 version for the first timeJerkShep said:BTW, is the patch already out on consoles?
SHOTEH FOCK OP said:So another day has gone by and we are no closer to determining a cause, solution, or getting a statement from Bethesda other than "we're looking into it?" Awesome.
The scope of this game is enormous compared to anything from that era (or most anything from this era, for that matter).Alebrije said:As always better wait for the game of the year edition. Shame for Bethesta they had a lot of time to develop this game , I wonder how a company like this cuould had survive on PS1/N64 era when you did no have online patches....Online has made lazy some developers

It is somewhat baffling that Bethesda didn't catch this.Alebrije said:As always better wait for the game of the year edition. FHIZ said:Anyone been watching the Giantbomb stream? I've seemed to notice some pretty bad textures even through the poor quality. Pretty concerning, but hopefully it's an easy fix.
Still doesn't excuse this bug. Bugs that I think are acceptable in this type of game is more like random npc's screwing up or items being aligned wrong.The_Darkest_Red said:The scope of this game is enormous compared to anything from that era (or most anything from this era, for that matter).
This coming from someone who will probably wait awhile before picking up the game.
angelfly said:I had the 360 version on preorder then switched to PS3 when I found out about the textures and now I'm not sure if I should keep it or not. Picking it up at GS tonight and deciding on whether to switch back to 360 since it seems like a fix may be in the works.

From what i hear PS3 has better frame rate.BlazingDarkness said:PS3 Version:
-Very bad framerate in the first areas of the game, it gets better but it's still janky
-Controls feel a little bit iffy, unresponsive and slow
-The lighting seems almost too harsh, some areas are very dark (you can adjust the brightness though)
-The shadows are hilariously bad and pixelated
-A combination of crisp textures and flat textures, a real mixed bag here
-Major pop in
-Small freezing on autosaves, the time varies - the first time it froze for about 10 seconds
So yeah, not great. But, the art style, music and general atmosphere does save it
CoffeeJanitor said:Good thing that no one would ever notice any of these differences in real time play.

The suggested fix there is to install it to a USB stick, which is what I would do on my 360 anyway. (4GB slim with a 16GB USB stick.)
Admittedly, PS3 is my console of choice though so if they are close in quality PS3 would be tempting... I have the 360 version on pre-order because I figured it would be the better version by default.

All this discussion makes me wonder if they will put Skyrim on Vita.
The smaller screen and flash media might help with some of these problems?
UPS set a personal record for me today my MGS HD Collection LE was delivered at 8:30PM. Hopefully Skyrim shows up a little bit earlier than that tomorrow...SRTtoZ said:Yep you'll never know what time they drop off a package. It has to do with where you are on the route, how busy it is that day, what the driver feels like doing, etc. Ive gotten packages at 10am and 7pm before.
360 seems to have softer shadows. Maybe too soft, but I think I like it better. PC version also has really lousy looking shadows even at the highest settings btwkneePat said:Took some of those NowGamer pics and compared their full size versions. Take them with a grain of salt. Philthy said:Jesus, I got Fallout 3 on the PS3 the day it came out and I don't remember any goofy bugs or issues..
Edit: Coworker reminded me of the autosave caused lag spikes, so the fix was to disable autosave in the options and that made it smooth.
