Alonso is now going to Caterham to turn them into a championship winning team and prove himself, I can exclusively reveal.

Along is quoted as saying: "How did you get this number? Stop calling me" but I can add that he said he liked the phallic shape of the car nose, or would have if the call had not been mysteriously cut off.

Rebecca Brooks is that you.

Caterham has confirmed that @robertomerhi will drive in FP1 in Japan, and @kamui_kobayashi will get to race at home after all

Good.

Sounds like Honda and McLaren may already be fucked.

Honda delay could thwart Alonso switch?

...but according to Italy's Corriere dello Sport, the spanner in the works of Alonso's sensational switch to McLaren could be some alarming rumours emerging from Japan.

The report claims Honda is about three months behind schedule in the development of its first turbo V6 'power unit', having encountered problems even greater than those struck by Renault as the troubled French marque prepared for 2014.

The specialist Autosprint said Honda's development V6 currently consumes too much fuel and produces too little power.

"To try to recover," the report explained, "Honda is investing massively and mobilising people and businesses around Japan."

Looks like Honda are going to reveal their engine this weekend.
There is a photo and illustrations of it on the Honda website this morning.

There is a typhoon nearing Japan and it could hit on race day, but it still too early to predict exact route. But even if it misses mainland it could bring lots of rain to the circut

BBC should just run a repeat of 2009's Saturday qualifying show to save costs.

EJ's comments about a change of management at McLaren and bringing both Vettel and Alonso sounds far-fetched. You'd pretty much be making it a Honda works team for that to happen and I'm not sure Honda would want to make quite that level of investment into the team.

As much as Jenson argues that Honda needs an 'experienced' driver to help develop the engine, he is the black hole of understanding the car and the cars around him

Would be amazing if Honda can persuade Alonso to come on board

Hey now, Jenson knows when they didn't get the balance of the car right AKA most weekends.

And he enjoys talking it up, weeks before the race, who is good and who is bad, only for it to be the exact opposite, including his own car, reminds me of Gary Busey in some respects

It is interesting how Micheal was casually faster than Nico, yet ...

Regardless, these cars are driven at a maximum, well beneath the drivers abilitys

F1, my favorite sport on earth, is a sham

Caterham F1 Team statement

2 October 2014

There have been unfounded and unsubstantiated rumours concerning actions against 1MRT, the entrant and owner of CaterhamF1.

An action was threatened yesterday against a supplier company to 1MRT. This company is not owned by 1MRT and it has no influence over the entry of CaterhamF1 or the entrant.

Also contrary to uncontrolled rumours, all operations are currently in place at Leafield and the race team is doing its preparation in Japan.
