The Humble Indie Bundle 3 is now live! [Now Can Include Bundle 2]

So VVVVVV doesn't support the 360 controller and doesn't have volume controls? That's taking the retro angle too far.

It's a one button game. Three if you consider walking on a 2D plane. Just turn the volume on your PC up as loud as possible before you start the game, put some headphones on, and enjoy the badass soundtrack.

Heh, I know it's goofy that those features are missing, but it really doesn't detract from the experience at all. That should not deter you from purchasing such an incredible game. Keyboard controls are a-okay, albeit I find the guy a little slippery. You can also use Joy2Key as well for 360 support if you're really wanting it.

Did I hear it correctly VVVVV got a map editor? or only for this version? Always been interested in the Crayon Physics game, so will get this bundle not only to support it but for that.

I encourage everyone to get VVVVV, but for some reason my save files get deleted from that game after a few days. Thankfully it has an unlock mode so you can get access to everything again.

Also, does VVVVV still keep its save files in the flash cache (which is easily deleted)?

I fear that is the case as my saves keeps getting deleted :(

I'm pretty sure VVVVV supports a controller. I know I used my saturn pad with it. nm, i used joy2key.

Also, does VVVVV still keep its save files in the flash cache (which is easily deleted)?

If you're going to spend a penny, make sure you gift it to your friends, guys! That's sort of the point. If you're going to be a fucking cheap ass about it, gift it to your friends so that they can recommend it to their friends after the sale is over and they can hopefully support the devs in some way.

I'm sure there are casuals out there who would enjoy CP and AYIM. Gift the game for pennies to people who would otherwise know nothing of them, so at least it may garner future sells for the devs. This especially applies to the goofs who spend only a penny and have the money to spend more. Spend five pennies and get the games out there more.
Yeah, this is a pretty good idea, really. I already spent a few bucks buying the bundle myself, but I might end up doing something like this for some of the people on my friends list who I can't convince to actually buy the bundle near the end. Hopefully I'll convince them though. :P

Edit:

Old version did. The version that you can download from the Humble Bundle site has been updated to use actual save files though. This update is also planned to go up for the Steam version some time today, so that shouldn't be a problem.

I already own all of them. Is it wrong to buy them for $5 just to have DRM free versions?
Nope, especially as you're supporting the developers/charity in doing so.

I don't only spend a penny because I think that is far too cheap. However, I always divide my donation up 4 ways and buy 4 bundles for a few bucks each and give the other 3 to friends that I know would never buy these games for the very reason you suggest.

Despite already owning Cogs, AYIM and VVVVVV I still picked up a bundle. I hope Hammerfight and Crayon Physics Deluxe are good. Regardless the HIB is something I completely support. Giving Indie Devs exposure is never a bad thing.

Why do they still need a Humble Tip? Didn't they get millions in investment money?

Yeah, but investors are still expecting to make money out of this. If the Humble Indie Bundle doesn't result to be a rentable program we won't see it anymore.

And if you don't want to give your money to investors, you don't have to do it. That's the cool thing about HIB.

I'm really happy with this btw. Wanted to play VVVVVV for some time now (besides the demo).

I have all of these games on Steam, but these are great games that deserve to be played.

First person who quotes me gets a gift code from my donation.

Sure, why not!

Did they ever explain why they took the money in the first place? Because they did the other bundles without that money.

How do I access this feature?

Press enter and you should bring up your map and then right key or wasd use d to go over to save... it also will come up and say auto saving at certain points....

I already owned all of these games except the Crayon game. I guess I gave them a dollar for a game I will never play.

Crayon Physics Deluxe is AWESOME. Play it. You're missing out if you don't!!!

Anyone else having trouble activating the bundle on Steam? It's telling me my key isn't valid
I had the same problem with a slightly older Steam client. I updated to the latest client, and the key activated just fine.

No clue, I haven't heard any comments and I don't believe they have addressed this publicly.

It's kinda strange anyway... maybe it isn't so cheap to run the HIB as we think, and maybe the extra money helps to get more developers in the club.

But we shouldn't worry about it to much. The HIB makes developers happy, charity foundations happy and gamers happy. Really cool stuff ;)

Well, Crayon Physics suprised me. I figured it was going to be shit but it's actually pretty neat. Not $5 neat but like $2-4 neat.

I really only got the pack for Hammerflight and this, since I had everything else already.

Proper save files, so clearing your flash cache won’t delete your saves!

Not anymore ... or only in the steam version for now

I bought the second bundle when it was out and paid more than the average to get the first bundle as well. (I think I paid $10. Edit: Nope! I paid $21.50! That's how good I thought it was.)

I was hoping Super Meat Boy would make it into one of these, but I guess they only do cross-platform games and SMB is not Mac yet, nor is it Linux. Maybe by the fourth bundle. Though by then I'll already have bought it twice at full price.

Thing is I the only game I really like in this one is VVVVVV, but I bought that two weeks ago off Steam itself.

If they decide to offer some bonuses and other games later in the bundle's life, I will probably bite.

A Humble Bundle with Super Meat Boy and a Bit.Trip game would make me EXPLODE and double/triple/quadruple/lotstuple dip =D

...i hope it never happens =x

Had four of the five games already, bought it again. Humble Bundle is high quality "padding" for adding more games to your Steam library. When I say "padding" I mean more free time taken away from you by sorely misunderstood PC gaming.

Buy this people.

And gift it? ;) ;)
No so thinly vialed begging

I wonder how much should i pay considering i already own 3 of those games already on Steam and i'm extremely poor right now thanks to the insane steam summer sale. Thankfully i got like 2 weeks to think it over. Anyway that seems like a solid lineup of games to me.

After trying to install And Yet It Moves I'm getting an error saying MSVCR100.dll was not found. I've found a download for it but I don't know where to place it.

How do i get VVVVVV to work with the wired Xbox 360 controller?

Xpadder doesn't support Win 7 and Joy2Key doesn't reconize my Xbox controller.

Haven't played more than 10 min of any of the games I bought in the first three packs, no interest in any of the games in this pack, but still buying 5-6$ when I get home because I love the bundle/pay whatevs model
