Hey I noticed Gary Whitta is the writer for TWD ep 4. Did he write all the episodes and I didn't notice his name in the credits or just ep 4? Either way pretty damn cool.

edit: I should probably be asking this in the actual TWD thread. Gotta find a way to make the post and read the reply without getting any spoilers.

yep. he also does general consulting quality thingy for other eps.

I'm in JEDI MODE :)

I just miss 4 stars in Angry Birds Star Wars, the last two levels which I have just 1 starred.

:)

While I like the game+franchise A LOT, I just remembered why I didn't like Angry Birds in first place...the luck factor.
Admittely, here it's very mild, but there are some stages, in particular bonus ones, where luck IS a factor when you just pray a debris will touch a structure.
This is particularly important in those levels where the general strategy isn't evident...so you try and try a strategy without any hope (and you will know this after the fact).
Still, it's incredibily fun and well done.

Anyway...I'm totally ready for Angry Birds: Lord of the Rings.

Puzzle & Dragons is great fun, pretty much how I wanted this kind of "puzzle dungeon" type of game to be fleshed out. Doesn't hurt that it's aesthetically pleasing either, something quite a few of these games seem to forget to go for. Weird that the English version is exclusive to the US store, but nothing that another account can't easily solve since the game is free. The online checks are kind of bs too, but not really a problem with 3G and thankfully they're fast and don't happen inside the actual dungeons.

edit: Goli already linked to it some pages ago but here it is again for anyone interested. Also voting it for the November OP (probably doesn't have much of a chance of getting there since I don't even know if Jedeye has a separate US account for these situations):

Puzzle & Dragons FREE, Universal (English version is US exclusive for some reason)
Match 3 or more Orbs of the same color to attack your enemies. Unlike most puzzle games, you can move an Orb as far as you want. Match the mystical Orbs and watch your Monsters attack. Collect tons of unique Monsters and assemble the best possible team.

Wow...but at what cost? :P

Congrats.

Buying now.

Well...I unlocked the 15 hours playtime achievement yesterday so....

Dagobah is great...just Luke Skywalker and the Lightsaber.

I have yet to start the Millenium Falcon thing (and yet to unlock 3-4 bonus levels...can't remember).
I have 45 Millenium Falcon runs now....but I see you need more just to complete one planet if I understood well how it works....then I suspect you have to pay.
I'm not complaining about the game content (it's massive and fun, and more is coming)...but the Millenium Falcon iap thing is pretty lame.

Will add, cheers!

OP updated. I've been rather out of the iOS loop this week given HALO, so if there have been any secret gems then let me know.

Also, thanks to Fuu and StarCreator for being so pro-active about having ready-pimpable stuff to stick in there. I like this idea and encourage it. If you feel strongly about a game, format it like in the OP and your chances of inclusion go up about 99% (ie, I will only not include it if I hate the game :P).

Ugh...forgot how much I hate the rubberband camera in Angry Birds. Wish there was a way a to turn that off where it wouldn't keep bouncing back to one side or the other. And why do they never give you a full view of the level? You have to shrink every single level in these games in order to see what you're doing.

On the flipside, regardless of whatever IAP there is, this one sure does seem to give you a lot of content. The Star Wars thing seems a little irrelevant thus far, though. I'm guessing things change up later on? Right now, it just business as usual.

Will add, cheers!
"JAPAN WARNING! :P"
KuGsj.gif
For the most part the designs are more reminiscent of Pokemon than anything but it's a fair warning considering some of the more moe-esque monsters.

fuck angry birds :(

can't 3 star a level, watch a youtube video, still can't. Some of these 3 star point requirements are insane. need a ton of luck.
Haven't played Star Wars yet but Seasons is the worst in this regard imo. A lot of the levels are just ridiculous with how lucky you need to be.

I just hate the whole 3 star trend thing in iOS games.

It's suppose to add replay value, but for me it just = me never beating any game due to getting frustrated and quiting.

Agreed. Not much different to gold/silver/bronze medals in other games though. I'll often start off looking for 3 stars/gold medal on level 1, but eventually the levels get too difficult and I just go 'fuck it' and take silver as a target.

Well I can't speak for the other games, bacause this is just my first Angry Birds: I always avoided AB because, judging from the lite versions, I too felt luck was too important.

I must say that in Star Wars luck it's almost non existent BAR some levels (not even the last ones...let's say that every now and then there is a LUCK based level).
When I say non-existent I mean that in many levels after a while it is pretty apparent which is the right strategy to adopt....so at most you try those 3-4 times if you really want to aim for the maximum score and want that debris hit that last crate.
In SOME very sparse levels...the strategy is not so apparent PLUS they require a bit of luck (one level in particular took me more than an hour trying watching TV)...so the time spent there is much more..they arent' that many tough....I guess 5-10 at most.

Now that I completed the normal campaign, I must say that the thing I liked most is how well integrated it is in the SW franchise...and I mean the stages per se.
If you look at the backgrounds and the silly 'constructions' they almost always refer to some movie scene (in particular in the Death Star).
So you can easily 'review' all the movie...from the Tatooine Skywalker family massacre to the Obi One Kenobi-Darth Vader duel up to the Advanced Tie Fighter battle and finally the (super cool) Death Star Trench Run.

I think they did a very cool job implementing all that.

Star Wars sounds, as always, elevate every game above the others.
I can't get enough of the lightsabers or Tie fighters sounds.

Shame the OT died. Spent a good 2 min making that image.

. It's when I beat a level with 1 bird and still get only 1 or 2 stars.

Really bums one out.

Yeah, it seems that you also have to make sure you're as destructive as possible with that one bird. The more damage you do in the level, the higher your score.

Did you break a lot of the stage? Environmental damage can more important than how many birds you have left in some levels.

edit: beaten like a green pig.

You better not be about to talk smack about Bad Piggies...

Not at all. I like that Bad Piggies pretty much has one way and one way only to beat each level. I like that it's different than AB's randomness. Many good AB levels require you to approach a level a specific way, but then elements of randomness determine how high the score goes. That works for me. I'd hate for both games to be the same.

I'm finding AB: Star Wars a lot easier than the original. Actually, Angry Birds Space was pretty easy too, so maybe they just made everything easier

Mind you, I realized TOO LATE that 3 stars are given if you pass a certain score (initially I thought you had to destroy everything with 1 bird, because first levels are so).
Unused birds grants you 10000 points but sometimes you get more USING the bird.
I learnt this the hard way against IMPOSSIBLE 1-bird only levels.
Some levels require even 3 birds (or at least I did it so).

Another thing to keep in mind...you do not have to complete a level if you catch the golden droid egg to unlock the bonus level (their are still super hard tough).

heehee :D I meant to add a mega Japan warning to StarCreator's stuff too. EDIT!

Actually wait, I'm gonna make a graphic

N.Y.Zombies 2 is pretty fun.

It doesn't look nearly as good as Dead Trigger, but I think the game itself is better.

Also, I'll recommend Apocalypse Max again.

I guess I'm not done with the zombie theme. And I can't wait for ZombieU. But that's OT.

OP looks great, but I think you need to make the "here some from last month" bigger, because as it is, it's kinda hard to separate October from November game... Perfect would be if someone could make another little picture with the writing in it, but a bigger font or so would do too? I think?

Good to know. Thanks for the tips.

EDIT: Alright, when the Luke Skywalker bird gets his lightsaber, that's pretty damn fun!

Yeah, I was waiting for them to update the game before buying it. The feedback over on TA didn't sound all that great, and watching video, everything seemed so lumbering. I really enjoyed the first game, though, and the dev guy promised improvements. I'll probably wait for it to go to a buck, then nab it.

The update is already out and it fixes a ton of things. Before it the thing was unplayable on an iPad.

Also, there's online coop, which is always nice.

They are still running the launch sale, so it's a good time to pick it up.

Looks like I'm able to upgrade to iPhone 5 this week. I'm trying to save money though so kinda split whether I should get 16 or 32 GB. I have tons of games I don't play so I THINK I can go on 16 GB. I'm on 32GB right now and use 15.9 GB but again, a lot of games just on my iPhone never played.

Also, Jet Set Radio is confirmed for Nov 29th

Don't you have infinite money and arms?

I was hesitant before too, but 32 is worth it. Who knows what games will be like in 2 years.

C'mon, you already know the answer for this. 32gb of course. Just the fact that you will not be pissed because you don't have 2gb of free space to install a game that only takes 1gb is reason enough.

Can you live with 16gb even if you are a big iOS gamer? Sure, but it's a hassle.

I've been iOS gaming less and less, especially now that I mostly game on PC these days. I could live with 16GB if I knew how to transfer app save data back and forth easily. I mean, when you delete an app, the app data goes poof, right? But if I have the app data stored on my iCloud, it won't let me retrieve that unless I restore my phone I think. Kinda annoying.

Also will need to sell my iPhone 4 somewhere, Gazelle shows $110 for 32GB which seems kinda low

It's also worth mentioning that I'm able to upgrade my phone pretty much annually. I don't need to stay on a phone for 2 years like most of you guys

What? I sold my iPhone 4 on Amazon 2 months ago for 350.

And think of all the high scores and stuff that were made on that phone.

If anything, it'll increase the value.

But really... it belongs in a museum.

I know its OT, but just got my wife the 5 (and myself a iPad Mini) and we are looking at ~$150 for the iPhone 4. I sold mine right before 5 was announced for $260. But if you are patient, you can get what you think it is worth. I go for quick sale.

Back on topic, I love the iPad Mini for gaming, just wish more apps I have when I had an iPhone were universal.

I would say 32, the OS takes like 2GB itself and some games out there are easily 1GB+, depends really on if you keep stuff installed often or not.

Plus 32GB will have a better resale value next year :P

What is Jedi Mode?

Or am I missing a silly joke?

Upgrade annually ? Abusing family plan?

So, if I understand this correctly, the Millennium Falcons are kind of a skip-a-level deal -- you just shoot the hell out of everything to unlock the next level, right? If that's the case, IAP for them seems pretty trivial, as I can't imagine wanting to use them.
