Well, our DreamWorks Dash n Drop game has been doing pretty well so far sales and review wise. Getting great feedback from people with kids especially.

As is customary, I have 3 promo codes to give away on GAF. Claim by posting the Dash n Drop app icon and name 3 of Santa's traditional reindeer which have not been named by a previous poster (got to make you work for it somehow!).

Huh, I was pretty sure I had that but it's not on my iPod or iPad and it's not in my purchase history. It was a pretty fun puzzle game where you could set up some really long chain reactions, but it could have ramped up the difficulty faster. Games would take forever. The PC version is freeware.

Shame it's no longer available. I totally forgot about there being a free version on PC but I knew that title sounded familiar.

Before you go spending all your lunch money on Angry Birds Star Wars, just fyi :
apparently you unlock the Path of the Jedi levels if you 3-star all of Tatooine and Death Star.

So you don't have to pay for them...if you wanna put in the work.

Up to 159 songs on Jubeat with ¥2300 left to spend. I've gotten so much value out of this game...Reflec Beat is going to only be US purchases for me, though. Too expensive to manage both games from the US, haha.

Codes claimed and sent. Thanks, guys.

Played the game for the past half hour. It's got a nice play-one-more-time vibe to it. Took me a few runs to grasp fully what was going on, but once I did I breezed through Europe without powerups, but I can see after that I'll need a few. The game looks and sounds great on my iPad Mini. Thanks again for the code. The music definitely puts me in the mood for Xmas.

Aha, the plot thickens! They should damn well say that in the game though.

Online requirement for a puzzle game instantly kills it for me. So dumb

Actually it makes sense since before going to each dungeon you choose a helper monster from a real player... Also I imagine it's because of the special dungeons that change after a certain amount of time has passed in the real world and other little things tied to real time.

Having not gotten the game, what does need to be paid for in terms of IAP that can't otherwise be unlocked through play?

THE FORCE IS STRONG IN ME.

Just 3-starred Tatooine...20 stars to go in the Death Star to unlock Dagobah...
I still have to catch a golden egg in 1-31 which seems totally impossible to me.

As far as I know the are 2 IAPs:

1) Unlock the Dagobah campaign (supposedly you unlock this 3-starring everything too)
2) The Millenium Falcon. Normally playing I unlocked 35 Millenium Falcon runs so far. Never used it.

Thanks. Appreciate the feedback.

My daughter has played it for about an hour this morning and loves it. I'm not sure what your target age was for it, but 7 year old girls apparently really like playing it. The only problem with it is she already beat my scores from last night. Game must be broken.

She's just "accidentally" buying te IAP.

I really like angry birds star wars, it's got a good twist on the birds foruma again like space was, in fact it's got me in the itch to watch the movies again this week.

So what are some of the best free iPad games? Just getting one for the first time. Is there like a go-to list somewhere?
Punch Quest is a recent game everyone here really enjoyed. Jetpack Joyride is a somewhat similar, simpler game that was very popular awhile back. A ton of people are playing Extreme Road Trip 2 right now, though that one has mixed receptions. Personally I had fun with it for about fifteen minutes before getting sick of it. I recently played a ton of Spellsword, I think it had generally good impressions, I only found out about it recently. Keep an eye on the thread (or just download AppShopper yourself), things go on sale pretty often. Outwitters is a pretty awesome free strategy game, think an extremely simplified Advance Wars. Letterpress is a Boggle-esque game that's really popular at the moment.

Hopefully you buy some things, there's suprisingly fun free games out there but a lot of the platform's best only cost a buck or three.

If you like Trials-type games, there's a free demo for Bike Baron. Plays and controls great on my mini. I doubt I'd feel the same way about it on the bigger ipad or the iPhone. It's worth a try though.

Indeed it plays well on the Mini. Aerox is also perfect for it. I've totally avoided tilt games on iPad until now, but it's just perfect

Got my new (and very first) 4th gen ipad and I'm pretty impressed by the performance in display (and that retina screen as well!).

I have a question though. I live in the Philippines and my Apple account is tied to the Philippine store. I was browsing around looking for Bastion and realized that I can only get it from the US store. Is there anything stopping me from switching my account to the US store and using something like a gift card to purchase the game?

Try Dead Trigger and Tild to Live HD.

As long as you don't have any credit left on the account (from past itunes cards) you can switch to any other store. Alternatively, you can keep two separate accounts, one for the US store, and one for the Philippenes.

Gotta give you props again. This game is really good.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll surely be buying stuff eventually, but with the actual ipad 4 purchase and wii u coming out next week, I need to save all the cash I can, heh.

Go to the Freemyapps site on your device. Some people here recommended it to me last week, and by going to it this past week I've already earned 10 dollars of Amazon or iTunes credit. Well worth the effort.

I see. Won't that have any effect on syncing?

Man, downloaded Asphalt 7 after seeing "optimized for the 4th gen ipad" text under What's New and guess what, it runs terrible lol. Is it just gameloft being gameloft (a lot of their games run like crap on my s3)? On the other hand, Wild Blood looks and runs like a dream compared to my s3

I love marble games, but the tilt controls are awful on the iPhone 4S. Also the lack of checkpoints is really upsetting, especially when the controls act up right at the end, and you roll off the edge, and have to start back at the very beginning. I want to like this game, but those two things are getting in the way.

Are we playing the same game? I think the controls are fantastic and checkpoints are placed in great places in my opinion. Usually after you accomplish a puzzle or a difficult part, there's a checkpoint right after

Controls fine on the larger iPad. I prefer it to the mini for games like that. The mini only bests the normal iPad at action oriented games like FPSes and possibly even games like Zookeeper Battle. Other than that the larger screen real-estate is superior lol

It's not about real estate. It's about not wanting to hold a brick to play a game. For me anyway.

I think just maintaining two separate iTunes accounts is just a lot easier. It's what I do to have both US and JP content.

Ugh. I finally managed to get around to fixing my home button so I no longer had any need to jailbreak. I get to iOS 6 and what the fuck is this shit?

Why can I not just view a big list of games in accordance with their release date? Is there some sort of trick? Or has Apple really decided that a list of new releases which uses an ordering that makes absolutely no sense at all, is a better idea?

So annoyed.

Yup, the iOS 6 App Store is awful.
