I'm jumping back into iOS games, and I have to ask:

Where the hell did MotionX Poker and Poker Quest go? It's like they don't exist on the store anymore, and I'm just trying to redownload what I already bought...
This is why you should, from now on, keep everything you bought stored somewhere. I learned to do that when Edge was going up and down and I lost access to it when I got my 3GS. Also, sometimes apps change and remove features, nice to have the old good version somewhere.

I wish PopCap would make HD versions of Bejeweled, Chuzzle and Peggle for the iPad. I grow tired of playing the phone apps on my iPad.

I just bought my fiance the new touch so I now have access to games again. My question is there is an RPG by SE that looks pretty good, its $15 and there is no demo. Is this a good?

Chaos Rings? Yes, it's good. If you like the genre, it's definitely one of the best on this platform.

Has anyone downloaded Pocket Frogs? This game is like fucking crack in my phone. Oh my God. I'm toying with the idea of an official thread just for this game so we can all trade and breed and shit. This game is amazing.

Edit: xb I have no idea how I missed your post. Have you played it?

My Plus+ ID is W0RDA55A551N (I didn't want to do l337 speak but since assassin has the word 'ass' in it, it wasn't allowed. shm)

re: SHIBUYA

This game has earned a spot on my homescreen. Sooooooo good.gif

Thanks gaf

Memory Planet free today courtesy of OpenFeint. Colorful memory game with a few modes, but local competitive only. Looks pretty but could use a soundtrack.

And now to play Pocket Frogs...

What's the best IP4 astronomy guide app out there?
Was checking out Star Walk, but I'd like to know what else is out there before dropping down the cash.

Personally I use the jailbreak capabilities to "demo" games before buying them, even if they're only a dollar! Does anyone here do the same thing?

I wish I checked out Robot Unicorn Attack before buying it cheap. That game sucks and looks crappy on an iPhone 4!

I've jailbroken, but have not downloaded a single pirated app. I JB for the extra functionality. Since the games are so dirt cheap anyway, I don't bother. The developers are individuals like myself, so I know they need the money.

Calingo Chaser seems to be a fairly well-reviewed action-rpg hack'n'slash mini-loot game. Might check it out (free version) later.

Just tried the free version myself. It's worth checking out at least. It looks great and has some interesting elements, but personally I don't care for the controls. There's an on-screen dpad but you can't move diagonally, which I think is a problem for this type of game.

Just got my Touch v4. Can someone point me to a list of games that support Retina? And maybe a quick rundown of some that I can run now that I couldn't on my v2?

Thanks!

Thanks!

Chaos Rings, Helsing's Fire, Pinball HD, Carcassonne (beautiful detail), Epic Citadel (free and visually astounding on the iPhone4), and Flight Control are a few, though they don't all necessarily need a 3rd gen device. Retina display support really has never proven to be a selling point for me yet, normal games still look great to me. Pinball HD looks pretty good actually and seem fun, but I tend to forget I have it.

Real Racing and Let's Golf 2 look fantastic on the retina display as well.

I love Phoenix Wright. What an incredible, engrossing, clever, surprisingly-large little game. Just completed the iPhone port, which is excellent. Never played the NDS versions but it's pretty much the perfect iPhone game. Super addicting and terrific in small bursts.

Apparently the next iteration (Justice For All?) is coming out on the 19th? *swoon*

Where did you hear that? I've already played through the Phoenix Wright games on Wiiware and thought it'd be good to go through them again on iPod when I finish Miles Edgeworth and Apollo Justice but thought they had given up on putting the rest of them on the app store.

Galaxy on Fire 1 was little more than an empty, content-less tech demo. I'd taper your expectations of the sequel until we get some definitive, third party confirmation that there'll be an actual game backing up the pretty tech.
This makes me want another space sim ;[

Well. This might be decent. I certainly hope so. I'd love to get a sequel that realizes the original's squandered potential.

Also, I believe that Gameloft is working on their own original space sim. Or so I read the other day.

Original or "original"?

How does it handle saving? Do you save yourself or do the game creates checkpoints or? I ask because I mostly play in short bursts of 5-10 min tops

Finally Pocket Frogs!! Amazing!!! I've been waiting for it, so exciting!

Pseudo-sequel to Robot Unicorn Attack just announced.. "Heavy Metal" Version  http://wireless.ign.com/articles/112/1120543p1.html

If you're anything like me, the very first question to pop into your brain is what the new soundtrack will be... apparently it's "Battlefield" by Blind Guardian: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c98gIxCe1zo&feature=player_embedded

It's no Erasure, and this basically amounts to a skin-swap, but all-in-all it's a pretty hilarious concept from the Adult Swim guys... and I love me some Robot Unicorn!

I've been looking for a casual, cute, atmospheric rpg with a nice art style to play... Something in the vein of Ragnarok Online (but not necessarily online) would be perfect for he iPhone imo. 'Imo' doesn't quite seem to do it, now I'm thinking maybe Itarus or Maple Story: Thief Edition. Has anyone tried those?

Have you tried Pocket Legends?

Yeah, Pocket Legends really didn't do it for me either, the visuals were too barren and overall style wasn't in any way engaging to me personally. Again, it doesn't necessarily have to be online. And I think either Itarus or Maple Story: Thief Edition really might do the trick for me but I'm not sure. I'm just looking for something with a beautiful look and nice soundtrack plus great environments to explore/grind through.

Across Age is supposed to be pretty good too, I haven't played it much yet myself, but it might be worth checking out the free version.

Crimson Gem Saga's an actual, real 20+ hour RPG (with FMV, VA, and tons of 2D art) that depending on how far you stretch "cute" might fit. Certainly lots to explore!

it just doesn't work, the original did it best

I wonder if they will add anything new to the formula.

I already own RBA, half the fun are the rainbows and song. I'm not sure I would purchase the same game without the charm.

Pocket Frogs is an awesome free game. EVERYTHING is unlockable with time, microtransactions to speed things up. It's pretty cute too.

I was just playing it. So what am I supposed to do exactly?
