It was never delayed, the release date was just a false rumor.
 
I caved and got Maple Story: Thief Edition since it's on sale for $2.99 and man... I am REALLY enjoying it, it's exactly what I was looking for :lol .
 
I remember some pre-release hype about a very beautiful-looking top-down racer. Maybe half a year ago (not sure)? That was when I had just lost my ipod touch, but now that I've got a new one, I'm wondering if anyone knows what I'm talking about? Can't remember the title, but production values looked high, it stood out as the best-looking top-down racer on the system.

Yusaku, thanks for posting screens. I had no idea there was a Shining Force on iphone. Is it a port of the first game? I've only played (and loved to death) the second.

Yes, and hopefully they bring the second over too. The impressions posted of the first game so far have been very positive, and from what I've played I also found it very charming. Sounds like you're already sold on it though!

Everyone should take some time out of their day to download Pocket Frogs. It's worth it!

Wow, that's quite a meaty title for $1, 550MB compressed (probably like 1GB unpacked?) and retina display support? If it build's on their Spider-Man title (which got great reviews), it could be a great buy for a $ if you're not light on space.
 
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is on sale at the minute, only $0.99/£0.59. Sort of tempted to grab it at that price.

Edit: Gah, beaten. That's what happens when I leave this page open for a while without refreshing.

My only hesitation is the 554MB file size (my 8GB is starting to cry), though at the discounted price it would be worth it just to have it in iTunes and install it whenever I'm in the mood to play. Please post impressions if you end up making the purchase.

EDIT: Also, is there any way to check what the normal price is?

I'm surprised at the lack of decent top-down racers on the iStore. I'd like ports of Rock & Roll Racing, Mille Miglia & Neo Drift Out (not to mention Skidmarks, obv!).

What are the games in your platform folder?
 
The mother of all TD defense games is coming out next year, Army of Darkness. Hail to the King, Baby:

The game will include all the favorite quotes from the movie and is described as a hybrid castle/tower defense inspired game. Your job is to protect the Necrinomicon from the Deadites with the help of your boomstick, chainsaw and more.

Too bad they didn't just make it in to an aRPG or something, but it's Army of Darkness, so I'll be keeping an eye out to see how it turns out.

Just bought it! The reviews were very encouraging and, being an SRPG, controls can't be an issue. I've wanted to check out the first game for a while, but when I'm in an SF mood I can't tear myself away from the second game. I've been in love with its music for 16 years.

It helps though that they seemed to have changed practically nothing with the art style and gameplay between the first game and the sequel :lol

Yeah, that's 'Imo' (that's what it was first called 'Imo, World of Magic'), it's really pretty good but didn't cut it for me art/music/atmosphere-wise. Haven't played Maple Story much yet but it seems awesome on the iPhone, loving it.

Yeah, I pulled the trigger. I think it is like $6.99 normally. Not sure.

So far really liking it. It looks great even though I have a 3GS and it plays pretty well too. I never played POP:WW when it first came out so I can't compare it to the PS2 version but it was definitely worth my 99 cents.
 
There is a free version of prince of persia, i know but 59p is 59p right?

And this bloody pocket frogs, i was playing it for about 4 hrs on and off last night, how are these type of games so addictive >:(

I cant stop playing!! Been trying to breed an Azure Pruni Marmorea for the last 35 minutes but cant find the Pruni body type out in the pond to breed with!!!!!
 
I just tried the free version and the controls on the trial course are all kinds of awkward, the actual game part seemed ok though.

The company I work for just released a free game called undercroft.

I haven't played it, but it looks like an old skool Eye Of The Beholder style dungeon crawler. And it's free so... hope this doesn't count as viral advertising because I'm not really selling anything here.

If you're into adventure games (I'm guessing you are from the MIs and Beneath A Steel Sky), you should take a look at the Director's Cut version of Broken Sword too. It's a classic made even better.

And for something more contemporary, I was really into Hector Episode 1, an iOS exclusive.

I have the Broken Sword for Wii, but haven't gotten a chance to play through it just yet. I did play the original, and enjoyed it quite a bit.

I will check out Hector too, thanks!
