Ok, it's a timed tapping game, not overly difficult till you go to the harder settings. Visually it's pretty great, only music app to use real 3D graphics for the backdrop, and you see your avatar in the background of the songs. If the Game Center support ever works that may be interesting. There's a free version with a single song if you want to test it out.
Glass Joe said:I'm a pretty new Touch owner so I may be missing some, but these are the most common/essential titles (from what I've discovered). They're not all free but some have free "lite" versions.
Some stuff you missed:
Sword and Poker 2 (poker with an RPG twist, incredibly addicting)
Mahjong Artifacts 1 or 2 (Mahjong, don't really need to say more)
Carcassonne (Beautiful Retina supported, incredibly fun multiplayer boardgame that has a large following here)
Montezuma 1 or 2 (Long Match-3 game)
Dark Nebula 1 or 2 (Labyrinth roll the marble through the maze taken to the next level)
Helsing's Fire (Cute puzzle game where you must destroy undead monsters with torches by positioning them in certain locations)
Drop 7 (Turn-based tetris like addicting gameplay puzzler)
Flight Control (the original line drawing game, Game Center & retina support now!)
StarDunk (free fast-paced basketball shooting game in space, with Game Center support now)
Pinball HD (all the pinball games are nothing special, but this one gives you 4 retina supported tables to play)
Espgaluda 2 / DonDonPachi Revolution (incredible looking, action heavy SHUMPs famous for their bullet-hell like gameplay)
R-Type (the "original" hard as hell shump)
Chaos Rings (Squaresoft FF-like gameplay, retina support, best use of analog controls in any game)
Across Age / Zenonia 1 /2 (Zelda like puzzler/grinding RPGs)
Crimson Gem Saga (PSP game, very fun RPG with videos, VA, and the works... some slight control issues)
Final Fantasy I/II (old school FF games, like them or leave them)
Shining Force (Old school genesis RPG, very charming gameplay, fun despite its age)
Rimelands: Hammer of Thor (Turn-based RPG with pretty decent graphics, diablo-like skill system, and lots of stuff to kill and loot to find)
Caligo Chaser (interesting action RPG with not so great controls - but great underlying system)
Undercroft (Free old school Eye of the Beholder type RPG)
Song Summoner Encore (Final Fantasy Tactics like gameplay, Squaresoft sRPG with a nice style)
War of Eustrath (another nice looking sRPG)
Rogue Planet (another sRPG that got decent reviews, Wing Commander style intermission)
Mecho Wars (cute sRPG)
Transformers G1: The Awakening (another sRPG w/ pretty good reviews, but short)
Palm Heroes (Heroes of M&M on your idevice!)
Battle of Wesnoth (another sRPG, this one is free on the PC/Mac, but the iPhone looks to have some additional content)
Civ Revolution (fairly good Civ game for the iOS)
Sim City Deluxe (nice Sim City game)
Plants vs Zombies (the best TD game made)
Defender Chronicles (the biggest TD ever made, fantasy twist with grinding RPG style gameplay)
GeoDefense, Fieldrunners, Guns n' Glory, The Creeps, Tower Madness, Elemental Monster TD, Crystal Defenders... and on and on (more TD games)
That's not even scratching the surface. You can add another 100+ games all good to that list, and you still wouldn't really be giving a good picture of all the good games on the iPhone... makes recommending stuff nearly impossible, since there's so damned much.
