4.2 has Game Center, and it's coming out within the next few days. The beta's had it for a month now.

oh that's right it's available but still beta. ID is probably decided to wait a few weeks for the official.

Just spent 30 mins on Mutant bash, ow my eyes are blurry now. Pretty good game, my major gripe comes from the fact that the muties seem invulnerable when they're reloading to get another brick, can never seem to get a hit in there.

Also, this does make me worry for the full PC/Console versions - I wonder if there'll be more enemies than these brainless mutants?

Also it really sucks how I can't listen to my own music while playing Rage. Yeah the sound is pretty good but it's not like it's a music game, I want to listen to my own music.

EXACTLY, I really need my own rockin' tunes to frag mutants to.

So no one play Rage HD on 3GS? Do I have to be the guinea pig?

Also, for some strange reason none of my Game Center games connect to Game Center when active. It is strange.

Best thing about the itouch right now are the Cave shooters. Bug Mushi Panic is an interesting and quirky game. Well worth 4 bucks if you want to try out something different.

Will Mushihehama Bug Panic drain my iTouch's battery quickly (like Dodonpachi and EspGaluda)?

Also, is it good?

Don't do it! I tried it, totally not worth it, it's actually really hard to see the difference, I had to take screenshots to be able to spot the differences (and I normally spot that stuff really easily). Though the hitches and reduction in framerate seem really minimal, so if you do plan on getting an iPhone 4 or iPad soon, definitely get the HD one. If not, there's really no reason.

Is this confirmed?

I nearly exploded in a fit of rage when Samurai 2 stopped working because my iPad firmware was out of date.

I think it's pretty great. Really nice virtual stick controls. It definitely hits the battery though. Not sure if it's as bad as previous Cave games yet.

Nanostudio is probably the best all-round music app. It's incredible.

Agreed. Haven't seen many people talk about NanoStudio, but it's great. Incredibly intuitive interface for a music workstation app. There's almost zero learning curve. Also, the developer is working on making it a universal app, which he said will be a free upgrade.

Reason Rebirth is a great app too, but it's also the exact opposite of NanoStudio. Holy learning curve.

Nanostudio looks awesome, but damn I wish it has copy/paste so it could play with other music apps. This is why I do all my stuff in Beatmaker, I can copy stuff I do in other apps to it.

The more I play Rage HD, the more I enjoy it. I was a little disillusioned at first because it felt better on my iPad last night but after spending a little time playing with the controls and associated options, I'm perfectly happy with it on the little screen as well. Seem's I've found a new fag break favourite.
I'm guessing you mean cigarette break...but if not, what the hell is a fag break?

In general I think a lot of the guys just take too many shots to take down. It's not too bad but there seems to be a lack of "popcorn" guys that can be taken down with one shot.

I'm guessing the console one will have more enemy depth, going by the opening trailer alone.

Probably, the fact that it's 3rd+ gen hardware only like the others means it's probably pushing it in terms of performance (or at least RAM), certainly seems to be pushing lots of sprites at least, 60fps too I think.

And yeah it's pretty fun. I'm not a fan of virtual stick controls in general but it works decently enough, particularly the "auto correct" one. The adventure mode gives standard long levels while score attack has arena type levels (the first one is like that at least). In particular I like that it has a time attack mode, I hate the usual endless score attacks...but it has that too if you like those.

I don't know about "next few days" but it should be soon. I've been running 4.2 on my iPad and iPhone for a while now, they seem fine. Main issue was the wifi one some people were having (not me though) and the second 4.2 GM fixed that. It's floating around and easy enough to find, I got it at gumballtech.com I think.

If you use the active reload, many enemies go down with a single shot from the shotgun or a quick burst from the rifle. The game seems to really reward you for using the active reload.

Just saw Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 for 0.99 and bought it. Surpisingly decent!

Yup. I like 2011, also. I think they only had a few extra months for development for 2011 but it includes the ability to save replays, new moves like overhead kicks, weather elements, saved lineups.

I really like the 'Daylight' tune you posted above. I'm drawing up a shopping list from your recommendations.

Yeah, sorry 'bout that, I forgot that phrase doesn't travel.

Do you just mean the manual reload or is active reload something else?

Still some basic basic popcorn enemies would be nice, like in HoTD (or most arcade shooters really) where you can pop guys with single shots and move on. At times here it can drag a little just wailing on some guys for a while. Overall I think it still think the pacing works well, it's just a few moments here and there where a more basic enemy might've helped.

@japtor, cigarettes are called fags in the UK.
Yeah I know, that's why I assumed cigarette break :p

Any recommendations for hack and slash action adventure games in the vein of Diablo? I have Dungeon Hunter and enjoy it. Almost done with it looking for something new now.

I mean active reload ala Gears of War. When you hit reload, there is an icon moving along a bar. Hit it when it's in the white zone and you're weapon will do double damage for a short time and reload faster. If you miss it, it takes longer. If you just tap reload once, you do a normal reload.

Game looks great, will support a gaf bro :D

So I just got Rage HD for my pad. Is it normal there's no sound effects? The only thing I hear is music. I don't hear no guns, enemies smashing my head with clubs or anything else for that matter. Played for 30 secs then quit because of it....

...take a wild guess.

Try again, and if that doesn't work maybe try restarting the iPad.

In other news there's a new iOS GM release for everything, 4.2.1, so an official release may still be a ways off yet.

Can't thank you guys enough :)

SuperPac: Thanks man! BTW I have to tell you that I am still hopelessly addicted to Robot Unicorn(s) ;)

RAGE HD is soooo good. Awesome graphics and plays really nice.

Nice to play an on-rails game for a change, haven't played one in aaaages (don't own a Wii).

why Miyamoto?

I was wondering if that would push me just over the edge into the status of "too nerdy" :lol

It's kind of silly, but since I was little I always promised myself if I ever made a game I'd thank him in the credits, since the Nintendo fanboy-ism of my youth is really what got me into gaming and in a lot of ways I attribute the stimulation of my imagination to Zelda/Mario/Metroid etc etc :)

Bought your game, will play after the holidays!

I lied, I've played it and I liked it. I will recommend it to friends.

Took some pics of Galaxy on Fire 2 with iPad support. Totally love this game. Seems there are more slots to save in, the hanger is better and so is the lounge.
