Hmm, I noticed that other characters were eating a wing flap attack, but I didn't realize it was because of Ricochet. But still, my tank rarely taking damage was worth it.
This game is fun but it's way too hard to get stronger and it's hard to accept a saga like game with 3 person parties, so used to 5 like saga Frontier and romancing saga 1-3.
Still enjoying the game but it's not what I really wanted. It's no SaGa Frontier...

1) Anyone else have major lag after you sold map info? Near Fountains, Shadow Maps or just using W.Shield?
I've ordered games a month later and still got the day one edition. This came out yesterday so I'm sure you'll get it!Just ordered the game. Is it probably too late to get the launch edition? I don't care either way, but it would be cool to have it.
Any special weapons you created will also be available to purchase in the shop.
In the thread title? I'm not clever enough.

Ok so what does this mean? Is there some sort of crafting component, or is it talking about the bargins you unlock?
Yeah, the game tends to lag during certain attack animations, or if there are numerous enemies on the field.
The lag during the final boss is especially awful unfortunately. Makes retrying him if you fail a bit more cumbersome.

I'm interested in this game but the only SaGa game I've played to completion (and enjoyed) is SaGa Frontier. How is it similar to that game?
Having trouble beating theAny tips?Water spirit in the ruins.
sell at 5 stars, yeah
uhhh I don't really know what to feel about this game. fighting reminds me of Paper Mario: Sticker Star. there's almost no point in fighting regular enemies. at least in SS, I'd get a tiny amount of coins or stickers (I think, I forget); you get something at the very least. fighting regular mobs in LoL almost always results in nothing happening. money gain is extremely low, item drops don't amount to anything and level ups are sparse. I don't feel any stronger than I did at the beginning of the game. and it kinda sucks my ship rewards are garbage and I make no profit from them nor are the stats a noticeable upgrade so I'm poor as shit. I'm gonna finish the game but if I feel like I won't be able to squeeze in a second run with Garnet then I guess I'm one and done
It seems certain that fighting against stronger foes are the best ways to increase stats and learn skills. I think Saga games balance that well with their Battle Rank and Event Rank mechanics. I think this tries to make it more rewarding to fight by letting skills have levels but it feels like it can get tedious and I can't really get a sense of abilities getting more powerful but that coukd just be me.
New game plus not letting abilities and stats bringing forward is also a huge mistake.

Does running away ever fail? Doesn't seem like it.
What is the deal with elemental affinities for weapons? (Weapons with a colored plus sign on their icon) Do they just add elemental damage to the weapon strike or do they give you an opportunity to learn moves or anything interesting like that?
Shame to hear this is more of a low budget dungeon crawler than a fully fleshed out take on SaGa. I love the SaGa games for their amazing variety in the worlds and characters you meet... oh well at least there's Hamauzu music and some decent graphics to look forward to.
Getting the Air shards really opens up the whole skill capabilities of your team to the point where I have to wonder why you're stuck with Water for so long early on. Air allows you to keep SP up for expensive but effective (status and such) skills that really make the combat a lot less repetitive of just forcing yourself to use basic attacks as you completely deplete SP in two turns.
Spell casting in general just suffers early on as you can't feed it with so little SP, so you can't learn it, and you can't make it stronger.
Yeah, the Air contract seems ridiculously good. Plus, since an Air-dominated field halves the amount of physical damage everyone receives, you can get more opportunities to awaken skills/levels.

I was wondering what was going on with that. I figured that having air dominance reduced damage but didn't realize it was being halved.
I also noticed that water skills were less effective in a fire dominant field which makes sense I guess. Just kind of sucks as I mostly rely on healing hands for healing.
I luckily got two of the high level healing items from the ship early on (I forget what they were called). Those were my main source of healing up through the endgame.
Yeah, I understand how they work but unfortunately all I have available is the medicine box (whatever Filmia started with) and that heals 65 tops. Healing hands does better than that even in its reduced state. The trinket items are better for healing than Healing Hands, they don't require a field/attunement nor can they be negatively affected. Only down-side is that you cannot learn it and, therefore, free up an equip slot. You still want Healing Hands on back-up, though, as its still good to have redundant healing in case a healer falls, and the Singing Shard (Water) gives a ton of good resistances vs. a regular healing item.

Hopefully the item store will update soon with something better.
Buy the trade ships. The $5000 one can get you some ridiculously powerful weapons and items. It's almost broken.Man, I knew this game was supposed to be tough...but dang, it's SUPER tough.
I'm still in the starting area...just completed the tutorial. When I go back to the forest though, it has me fighting 4 guys at once. Almost every battle I have someone die.
I always have someone blocking too...any tips?
Because taglines are nice and clever and awesome and a GAF tradition. Why should every OT have to follow a checklist? Who looks at the first post after the first ten minutes?
I realize it's intentional but damn I can't help but really really want to be able to use one more character in battle.
One person always defending, one for healing and making a contract, and the third for attacking/whispering shard using was a decent plan up until I got my second singing shard... How do I juggle all this when my enemies have the advantages from contracts plus there's more of them?
I like this game. Whenever I enter a new area it makes me really earn my wins, haha.
