Ohh dear.
"My dad is coming home"
Lmao
"You're pining for a daddy you didn't even know, like some sniveling bastard"
― Homer, The Odyssey (Probably, dunno, didn't read it, Chris Nolan)
I just read the worst rumor that Eliot Page is playing Achilles.
He refuses to wear a helmet now.How did Pedro Pascal not make it into this movie?
Yes, the heel of all warriors.Achilles in heels?
there is dislike, there is hate, there is DISGUST.....then there is this ^^^^^ insult, goddamn, did Nolan steal away your girl and give her back pregnant or something???This looks like Brett Ratner's The Odyssey.
I'm not sure Nolan has ever been to Greece. He does know Greece is a real place you can visit and not some mythical land of legend, right?

Wait. So we're 1.5 months from release and they still haven't disclosed who plays Helen?
It's Lupita and they are just afraid of admitting it, right?...
So the rumours are;
Lupita Nyong'o as Helen
Elliot Page as Achilles
James Corden as Polyphemus
I hope all of them are true
As a Greek, this film is straight up offensive.
The casting is an absolute fucking disaster. The writing is painfully bad, and the performances somehow make it even worse.
The delivery feels forced, awkward, and borderline parody. It's actually embarrassing to watch.
There is nothing authentically Greek about this. No soul, no cultural weight, no respect for the mythology it's trying to represent. If they had any intention of doing this properly, they should have cast Greek actors and built something that actually reflects the depth and identity of Greek mythology.
And casting Elliot Page as Achilles? Please tell me you guys are trolling. Please.![]()

i think sadly they are Nolan needs a shield and what's a better Shield then oh you think the movie is bad you're a transphobic racistSo the rumours are;

Agamemnon. I've known this since that first trailer because I went out and sought who he was. Underwhelming, but I am still curious to see the whole movie.Maybe?
The 2004 version of Troy didn't have historically accurate armour, but it was more realistic than whatever Nolan is going for in this film?
Who is Odysseus kneeling to in this trailer? Is that supposed to be Achilles or Mycenaean Batman?
I think I'm just jaded with Hollywood attempts at films like this. Yes, I know the works of Homer are in the realms of fantasy, but this poem was written thousands of years ago about real bronze age civilizations. It could also be based on a real historical event.
I guess what I would like to see is a film that is historically accurate for the time period, cast with Greek actors and the dialogue spoken only in Mycenaean Greek language.

Yeah-yeah. I know. Hollywood is on its last legs...Which then gives the Elliot Page playing Achilles rumour a little more creditability. Depending on how far they go with the flashbacks, we might even see Cynthia Erivo playing the character of Hector. Anything is possible now.

I ran what you said through AI, and sure enough... what type of stunning and brave energies will she bring to the table?
I was willing to let a lot slide, but this, James Corden, that annoying prick.James Corden as Polyphemus

This is another great point.

YesDoesn't the Academy have that new rule where if you want your film to even be considered for nominations you NEED to cast gays, non whites, non white gays or any race of tranny for supporting roles?
It would certainly help explain those casting choices being as fucked up as they are.
