OK, so here's the deal.
I *SUCK* at this game.
My only real previous experience with the series was GT2 which I bought on a whim when it was a Greatest Hits and I proceeded to only play it a few times.
I guess I'm pretty much encountering the same issues with GT4 as I did with 2, though. I don't want to shelve a GT game again, and thankfully the pretty graphics have kept me going so far, but I fear that I may once again leave the GT world too soon.
I'm not horrible at racing games, but I'm definitely more used to the arcade-style stuff and its obvious that those cornering techniques aren't necessarily going to work in a game like this. The only car I have right now is an old-school Lancer Evolution with a minor suspension upgrade (haven't been winning very much, so haven't been getting the monies!). I've only been able to gold the entire Sunday Cup and I haven't even been able to place in anything else.
Either way, I'm not too horrible except when it comes to cornering. Should I be using the regular break or the emergency break? Evidently the way GT handles cornering is more realistic, but I'm always tempted to take them hard and sharp. Its going to take awhile to unlearn this arcade style of racing, I think, but does anyone have any particular tips that I could use? The in-game and manual tips seem fit for someone who already knows a lot of the terms and ideas beforehand.
