Those shots look really good.
Goddamn... Is this allowed? The Movie 1886
Goddamn... Is this allowed?
Shouldn't it be?Motion blur, depth of field, chromatic aberration, film grain, lens distortion effects, and black bars. I wonder what the next atrocity for the sake of the cinematic they'll come up with next.
DoF the game
Good thing there are evenly spaced sandbags and boxes in that street for cover
Damn, looks amazing.
Its insane how detailed everything looks.
The Order 1886 uses 4xMSAA for the aliasing.I guess the Order is joining Ryse as the only next gen game with good IQ, so wonderful to see. (Infamous is up there, but there's still tons of aliasing) Really, really hope TXAA(or whatever they're using that is very close) becomes more common in console games.

Is it really that bad if we get one game with huge focus on cinematic looks and feel?

I need a survival horror game that looks like this.
Wouldn't even mind the black bars. ;p
I'm sure they have an explanation but not putting the HUD elements on the black bars takes the fucking piss.
Is it just MSAA? It has the slight blur characteristic of txaa and Crytek's SMAA AA solutions. MSAA on its own is usually pretty sharp. The Order 1886 uses 4xMSAA for the aliasing.
looks so middling
it looks too clean.
Is it so much to ask for Sony to just eliminate the black bars?
Is this 2006? why is everything so brown.
This close to release and the best they can do is "screenshots"?!?

I thought this was NeoGAF and not /v/.
Drive by shitposting is not encouraged here. The screenshots look great imo, but of course this thread will be full of "concern".
Too clean? Shit looks blurry as hell with all filtering and grain and CA and whatnot.it looks too clean. i kinda want it just to support RAD but not enough interest for me to buy at full price.
Bit crap quality screens. You can see this scene in motion in this preview video. Looks incredible.

Anyway there has been many videos for this game released. Judging the game in a vacuum by these screens is pointless.

Well this thread became a bit of a shitfest fast.
So, a typical The Order thread, then.
Of course, par for the course; it's a Sony exclusive...
I'm really looking forward to this, a littl eover a week away now. I just have to talk the wife into letting me buy it for my birthday 3 weeks early, lol.
Lol, ain't that truth. The pendulum swings widely with this one. Given that I've tried to avoid as much about the game as possible, I am torn with this game. From my limited prospective, it could either be 1) a short, on rails, QTE mash fest with stunning visuals, or 2) the best looking, most atmospheric and impressive game released this gen...effing grab bag (still day one for me though).Ah yes, a classic The Order thread. Great to see we're back to form after the positiveness of the other threads we have going on right now. /s

Yep, that's a classic The Order thread!
Haters can get wrecked!
The community did a better job than Sony to promote the game, those screens looks annoying at best.
I'm ready to play it on Day One..
Has nothing to do with it being a Sony exclusive, has to do with crappy level design in that shot and over used effects.

It's not always gray, but the color scheme obviously is based around a dreary atmosphere. No Bioshock Infinite color fantasias.
And you were able to deduce this from the 6 screenshots. Nicely done.
