The PlayStation Vita In 2011-2012

My poor PSP has been collecting dust for almost a year now...I really need to pick up a handful more UMD titles before they're completely pulled from shelves.

Someone should make a send-out PSP appreciation thread.

Gamestop is a great place to pick up cheap UMDs.

4Gamer has better shots of the various Vita colors

Man, some of those are sexy as hell, but I don't know if I'd want to look at a bright color like that all the time. At the same time, I feel if I get a black or silver one I'll feel it's way too bland a few months later. Hmm, why is life so hard!? #FirstWorld...Ah,YouKnowTheRest

That's a nice shade of orange on that coloured Vita but I think I'd still ideally want a white one. Been using piano black electronics since like 2004 and it's getting a bit old. If I end up importing I'll get a white but otherwise I'll settle for the black one. EU will propably get colours 2015. :(

The biggest nuisance I can think of that he wouldn't say outright is handling repairs and warranty issues.

My PS3 is out of warranty and is rarely ON too so I never had to deal with Sony"s repair center, but as for the 360 I know that microsoft can handle warranty and repair for consoles coming from outside the region you're in.

The OLED screen is gorgeous. Is Sony manufacturing the OLED screen? And is inferior to the latest AMOLED tech?
We have no clue, I guessed inhouse. In a recent interview Sony remained tight-lipped about that fact.

And no, it's most likely not inferior, in fact, might be the best yet released to the masses. Sony's expensive OLED movie-master and medical monitors aside.

That hasn't been the case for Sony.

Is it possible to place an import pre-order on one of those sexy colors???

I would say next year you will be able to. but who knows, they might make them available for preorder on the 15th October along with the black Vita.

That's when Japanese pre-orders go up?

I've never imported a console before but I'm strongly considering it for the Vita. Does anybody know what the average cost was of importing a 3DS? I would imagine it would be similar for the Vita. Only thing that I know will annoy me is the swapped X and O button functions.

Wonder how long we have to wait until new color like those come out.

The black Vita looks so ugly in comparison… why must it be the default color all the time...

Usually names like Wii or Dreamcast or Xbox grow on me after a while despite being weird… but the name Vita still sounds bad to me after so many months. It sounds like some pills.

Dunno about the 3DS, but the WiFi model is the same price as the 160GB PS3, and Play-Asia is selling that for about $400.

Try pronouncing it with PS in front of Vita. It helps. ;)

After some Googling it looks like they had the 3DS for closer to $500 initially. Yikes. I think it's going to depend a lot on demand. And demand is going to be high for a region free device that's only available in one region.

Love the smell of bullshit in the morning.

Well, with export tax and all plus a small markup, almost expected. Though $350 would be the really reasonable price (if they can buy wholesale from Japan).

400 isn't so bad. The JP Wifi model is 320 ish dollars in Japanese Yen.

Doubtful. That close to Christmas probably results in stock issues.

What does this mean?

Playstation Vita でつながる
Playstation Vita でブラサン

Seems to be a Vita motto?

Where are you seeing that?

The first one is "Connect with Playstation Vita"

Has anyone seen any impressions of PSP games running on the Vita? I'm wondering with the better screen and horsepower if we might be able to play PSP games on the Vita with no dithering.
