The Zelda TP pre-launch NON-SPOILER thread (READ BEFORE YOU POSTTTT)

How early do you think I should get to Walmart if I plan to get a Wii, and EB-Games for Twilight Princess (I have store credit at different stores >_>)?

AniHawk said:
Why the **** did you sell them if you wanted to get them.

I saw people selling their preorders for $600 on eBay; would you pass that up? I got $450 for mine, which isn't at all bad for some free money. Now, though, I either need to go to a midnight launch somewhere and get back to school on the city bus system, or wait until early the next morning. Not to mention, I don't have a TV in my room, so I'll be playing on my computer through an Adaptec GameBridge, which happens to have just enough lag to seriously **** up Guitar Hero. I'm kind of going in blind here.

I'm not a crook so .... yes?

I don't think so. If I had a PS3 preorder and sold that for $2500, I'd feel guilty
and rich
. Not so for someone who willingly pays a modest premium to be certain to get a system the day after launch.

The latest build previews that have been popping up (EDGE inparticular) and a couple of the the more recent videos have brought me some much needed faith in the Wii version.

I used to be on the Ami/Luke Smith side of things but didn't consider it THAT much of a big deal to break my ass waiting for/trying to find the GC version.

Luddites? I guess we'll know soon enough.

Oh dear. Speaking of Luke Smith, I hope at least one of the regulars from 1UP Yours got hands-on time with Zelda. Or maybe they can invite Jeremy Parish. That should make for an interesting 10 minute discussion.

Q) I have one of those smaller televisions in my room i have my gamecube on it and that works fine but ive heard that the Wii is widescreen does this mean that i will only get some of the picture with bits cut off or does it automatically set itself to the screen size?
A) No, you'll get a letterbox picture I'm afraid.
As a non-owner of a widescreen TV, GameCube Princess for the win!

Wow, you're quite the moron. Why wouldn't you just sell the system itself when you got it- for a much higher profit?

The intro has no spoilers. The trailer has some very small ones if you have seen the stuff from previous E3's. (If not, then there are a bunch of spoilers.)

Posted elsewhere but in here incase people missed it. From Nintendo

Both have been shown before. But they are spoilers if you have been avoiding these things since before E3'06.

EDIT: Never mind, better I not even mention it in this thread

Hey I haven't read much about TP (or read this thread), but theres always one thing that bothered me about Zelda. The pause when attacking (its too short to add cinematic value and too long that it intrudes on continuity) - its freaking pointless and jarring. Is there any chance of an option to turn it off in TP?

Cheers nintys.

no and it's been like that for many Zelda games now. It's a point of impact.

oh goddamn, I just watched the 2nd trailer! holy ****! goty!!! Simply amazing. :D

Yeah, I couldn't resist and watched the second trailer (won't watch anything else) and yeah.

*dies*

Best game of all time confirmed.

Aonuma said that TP maxed the cube, and should be seen as a baseline for what can be done on Wii, probably like Halo was for Xbox. Red Steel is already pushing past the Cube benchmark already.

So hopefully Halo 2/Riddick Xbox stuff becomes commonplace sooner than it did for Xbox, maybe in the 2nd generation.

Which would be ok if it animates or looks like it connects in that way. As it is it literally just pauses the screen which has always been a huge wtf as far as I'm concerned. It does detract from my gameplay experience.

I know its been that way for many Zelda's, but when you do something wrong theres always opportunity to change. Its not the biggest deal, but I don't think anyone would miss it, and plenty would be exuberant if it was removed. IMO.

The new trailer just reminded me how much I dislike it.

I watched all the trailers.
Love each of them.
Gives you a glimpse of the interacting TP world.
:)

Are there any comparison shots of the GC version against the Wii version yet?
There'd be no point, visually it's the same game except for widescreen support, a different HUD in the Wii version, and the mirror thing.
