And again:

What you get with the Wii is a right handed Link and a specialized control system. At least on paper. What you won't find in any technical documentation is that after playing the game using the Wii remote and nunchuck, the mere idea of playing it on a game pad seems almost alien.

But...

This lag was immediately evident after you collected 30 rupees and bought the slingshot, and began testing your aim. You assign items, such as the slingshot, to the B button, and there were times when pressing the button would simply bring up a message saying that you needed to point the Wii remote at the screen, even if you were already doing just that.

Sometimes after a second or two it would register, sometimes it would pick it up only after the remote was moved, and other times it would not read it at all, forcing the B button to be released and depressed again. Annoying, for sure, and truly hope that this was an factor of the environment rather than an issue with the hardware. Color me cautiously optimistic in this regard.

I am very interested in the Wii version, even if the idea of playing it the way you do seems strange to me as someone who has never even touched a Wii controller. I am sure it has turned out well. I just can't afford a Wii right now (that, and I have a stigma about launch consoles that even the sturdiest of reason cannot dispel), and I've had the Gamecube version pre-ordered for a while now anyway.

So, I look at this situation this way: I will get to play two different Zeldas. I will play the Gamecube version when it's out, and then when I finally get a Wii, I'll get Zelda for it as well and play it again. I'm always looking for reasons to re-play games and this sounds like a great opportunity.

That is called a "sensor bar issue".

You can turn off the pointer functionality and use the analog to aim anyway. So if the sensor bar freaks out for some reason, you can enjoy some old gen aiming.

I wonder if they'll use the Conan music for the commercial like with OoT.
God I hope not (well, no Riders of Doom at least).

I loved the music in TWW's commercial/trailer. I hope they do something like that. Although the promo for TWW doesn't make any damn sense other than they were just trying to bring in kids addicted on the Harry Potter craze.

Anyone else get a disney movie vibe from this new trailer? Its one of the best Zelda trailers I have ever seen. This should seriously be put up in theatres.
Disney vibe? I get more of a Mononoke Hime vibe, wich is even better.

God that was an awful commercial.

The Majora's Mask one, on the other hand...

Wow. Why do I feel like I might have liked that commercial then, but now that I watch it I want to stab myself, in a very bad way?

Damn, aside from the music, that was terrible. :/

Yeah. Nintendo's advertising during the GC days fell off the ****ing planet (although their bizarre launch commercials are still awesome to me). The commercial for TWW looks like it should be for TP, and even then it wouldn't make any damn sense (and still be bad- music aside).

I hope you mean the "people inside cubes" commercials because I'm pretty sure those were awesome.

Yes I do.

But the ones afterwards missed their mark (clean is better than dirty was a parody of the 70s PSAs that virtually NO ONE GOT; the zelda one had almost nothing to do with the game and was just going off the Harry Potter craze; the Metroid Prime one was pure awful. There's more, but I don't want to list them).

Pikmin 2's was pretty good though. Too bad nobody bought the game.

During 3 weeks, it will be hard to avoid the spoilers on internet : '(

I sure will miss our timeline discussion but soon I will have to abandon that Spoiler thread :(

Yuck @ Metroid Prime commercial. I remember the Cube launch commercials with Andrew W.K. supplying the music. Those rocked.

Lately, with their DS commercials, Nintendo's been getting better. I hope to God that I never again have to see a person dressed up as a Nintendo character as a means of advertising a game.

I dont think those were launch. I think those came out a few months later.

i know i'm really late to this thread and these are probably obvious questions, but the 1up show (which i just had time to watch) really got me interested in this game. couple questions...

when's it come out?

can i use a wavebird with he wii version? i don't want to play it with that wand thing but I want to play it earlier and with the other benefits the wii version brings. is this possible?

can't believe how amazing and atmospheric this game looks (and sounds). just... wow.
