It would have been a big one if it were true. I agree, I was harsh. I aplogise ... but I've had so much crap off people because I decided to sit out on PS4 until next year that you would think I had killed their first-born or something. It's crazy.

If he would research based on your post history he'd come to that same conclusion anyway. One time is enough to state why you cancelled and if it has nothing to do with this possible delay then I assume there is an agenda behind all your posts here.

Hm, I was thinking about it, they announced the game for the japanese february launch of the ps4 right? Maybe they're going to launch it in february for everyone else too.
I did, and I got it overturned because I had done nothing wrong. [EDIT - I made an opinion post which wasn't clearly labelled as such and looked like I was doing PR or suchlike]
I don't know what you mean by tone it down. I posted that I'm not getting a PS4 now until Infamous comes out. Are you implying that I can get banned again because of that?

everyone will have a paroxysm of knee-jerking, and be screaming 'SO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT!?!?!' everywhere, leaving Sony with a really huge PR battle on their hands.
What I suspect they're doing is:
1. Assessing just how bad the delay is.
2. Working on a proper announcement & replacement PS+ deal
My wife is a PR-ish person - she's been following this, and reckons Sony's best bet is to hunker down until they can come back with a solution to the problem, rather than engaging now and having to expend time & resources on a reply without a solution.

Cancelling isn't a big deal, but grabbing all the inferior versions of the multi-platform games shows you didn't really care much for PS4 outside its exclusives.
What about the people who have ordered the Knack bundle?

I will go out on a limb here and say if the news of Driveclub getting delayed has led people to cancel their PS4 preorders they probably should have never preordered it to begin with. I just cannot see how this one game was a make or break for people, especially since it was going to be FTP for + subscribers. Being a + subscriber myself, I always looked at this game as icing on the cake so to speak. Something else I could check out on the system itself.
To each their own at the end of the day. If this delay smashes all the hopes and dreams you had for the PS4 itself, more power to you.

They just need to properly explain the situation and then replace the PS+ freebie/version with another title.
We don't even know how long this game is delayed anyway, for all we know it could be a month or two.
How about giving out a glorified DC demo (2/3 tracks, 10/20 cars only) on PS+ day 1, and delay the full release to 2014? Wasn't the DC PS+ edition supposed to be a castrated version anyway?

I think it's because people are now starting to come to their senses and are now realizing that they simply got caught up in all the hype of a new console. News like this certainly sobers the mind quite a bit.
No... DRIVECLUB PS+ version is the full game minus a few tracks and cars. You can platinum the game with the PS+ version.
i don't see the logical connection between a delay and the ps4's ease of development. there are a number of possible reasons for a delay, that have nothing to do with the development environment per se.
Congrats to them, they can trade it in and knock another 20-30 dollars off their PS4 purchase.

It's pretty much a done deal at this point, the official word will be coming fairly soon I'm sure.
If it is true then the logistics of sorting out a replacement deal will be vast. I am sure that the time they are taking is to get all that in place so there is no more bad news for the consumer on their part and they can announce a proper strategy for the bundles etc.

Wow, this thread has moved since yesterday. As has been commented, DC seems to have become both the sole reason for the PS4 to exist and not important lol. IMO, this is nothing more than a minor setback and will likely leave the PS4 unaffected as Sony obviously feels comfortable enough with the preorder numbers and the systems being pretty much sold to allow Evolution some breathing room to polish the game or whatever may have caused the delay. There will be games available at launch w/ a number of them being free (PS+). More amazed this thread has gotten way more posts then the actual DC thread. Personally, I was looking forward to the game. Seemed to be shaping up to be some sort spiritual PGR successor but I(and no doubt many others) preordered before any launch games were confirmed and know that regardless of what is available at launch, the games will follow. Top that, I still have a number of PS3 games to play and to date my racing rig isnt supported for either the PS4 or X1 (Fanatec GT3RS+Clubsports) so GT6 will scratch that itch in the mean time.
DC prologue? TBH we had no idea how cut down the PS+ version was going to be, so they had flexibility to really scale that back if necessary. It suggests that there might be something fundamental that doesn't let them do that - either a performance issue, or they just need more time to get it looking how they want - so not a content issue.
