I would kill for an HD version of Untracked.
How about an HD version of Happiness? They said that is in the game somewhere.

I will definitely add you - I'm in kind of the same boat.Added myself to the PS3 list. Please add me! I don't have a lot of hardcore gamers in my friends list, basically just casuals only playing FIFA or COD. None of them buying SSX of course![]()
I've decided that this will be the first game I double-dip on. I don't even own a PS3, but I'll be using my roommate's PS3s for this.
There are just too many people on GAF and MerquryCity I can't not play with.
whatever happened to the studio that made the original SSX games anyway?
XBL updates early I think and I know PSN doesn't update until like 9 pm EST at least that's how it was these past few weeks when I tried to download jak and Farcry 2.
soultron, where that OT at? I need an SSX fix.
Man this demo is probably going to be gold exclusive right? My sub ran out and I need to pay some stuff off before I re up. I guess I'll be waiting for it to show up on PSN.
Too bad you didn't get too copies, then you could give one away for best time and another for best score.
Are there any fundamental differences between characters in how they perform? Or are they simply a matter of preference?
Seems more GAFfers registering on the PS3 list than the Xbox- I wasnt sure which one I was going for, but between the list and the RiderNet recommendations I think i'll be more than fine socially with the PS3, so, added! I'll getting you all added in the next week hopefully!
Now to play the fuck out of the demos tomorrow![]()

When you begin playing, characters have certain stat bonuses derived from their past heritage in the SSX franchise. For instance, Mac and Kaori will have boosted Trick stats since they've always historically been characters better at tricking. However, as you level characters, all of their stats will hit a ceiling. This means that choosing a certain character at max level will not have inherent character-exclusive advantages. Your gear will matter more at level 10 than your character choice.
So, for instance, at level 1,
Mac might have 15 in tricking
Ty might have have 1 in tricking
But at level 10, they'll both reach the max of 100 in tricking -- Mac will just hit that max earlier.
This is my understanding, at least. Certain characters will have access to better gear, IIRC. Elise, for instance, is the wingsuit specialist and will probably have the best wingsuit in the game because of this.
This was done in effort to balance the MP game to a certain extent. They didn't want it to be like past games where you'd only see players on the top ten using only Elise or Mac.
Nice, thanks for explaining it so well.
I plan to go with Kaori since she's the character I used in the old ones, how many characters are there in total?
Well, seeing as you don't need Gold to play in Explore mode, I don't know why it would be Gold-only. We'll find out in the early morning! I'd say there are less than 12 hours until we get it! c:
10 + Eddie for GameStop buyers (or GAME in the UK) and Travis Rice once he is unlocked via facebook.
Full list is at: http://www.ea.com/ssx/1/ssx-characters
Elise, Mac, Kaori, Moby, Psymon, Zoe, Griff are the returners. Tane, Ty, and Alex are the newbies.
Is the demo dropping at midnight?
Do we know if Eddie is an unlockable in the game or will we have to buy him as DLC?
And I'm surprised Griff is in the game, but Allegra didn't make the cut. I thought she was a popular character, more than Griff at least.
I doubt it for PSN, since Sony likes to update the store in the evenings.
Is the demo dropping at midnight?
And XBL usually updates at 3AM.
Wow, 3AM? Weird time.
I actually thought it was 5AM EST, but I don't think it's always consistent anyway. I know there have been times when demos went up in the middle of the day, and not at the standard daily update time.Wow, 3AM? Weird time.
Just an update on the OT.
A lot of GAFers complain that OTs are very info-dense and require lots of scrolling, so I've attempted to try something new with this OT.
I'm going to try and make the OT one giant image comprised of many smaller images. This means that if you want to know about something that's in the OT, you simply click on that image/box, and then you'll be taken to an individual Google Doc based on that piece of information; the Google Doc will have written information as well as links to any relevant information such as YouTube videos, iTunes store links, previews/reviews from the news sources we all read, etc. It basically allows you to seek out what information you want, rather than having to scroll past everything you already know.
Hopefully GAF at large will appreciate this newish approach to OT making.
The basic information will be part of this gigantic image though. Information such as release dates, platforms, characters, modes, the demos, and so on.
It will be up tonight, don't worry. I'm working on it as you read this.
What do you guys think the learning curve for newcomers and those who havent't played SSX in a while will be like? Hopefully it won't be brutal, as I thought Tricky was pretty hard to get good at.
I've been playing SSX 3 over the past week in anticipation and I've been having a pretty hard time. I forgot how hard these games can be at times when you're new/rusty.
Please tell me there will be wub wubs and dub dubs in the title.
