the guy who started this must be starved for attention. he also really wants people to know how tolerant he is.
you can't watch your ass with the head like this. eyes aren't even pointing down.
That's some Hank Hill butt.![]()
I have as many pixels as necessary, since I'm looking at it in the game.
Yes, she is. Looking behind you looks like this.

She's either looking at her ass or my crotch. Take your pick, both amount to the same thing.
I don't think you know what direction 'down' is.
This is why I'm making a game where all the characters are heavily-armed cyborgs with capes.
lol at blizzard for removing butts.
butts are good.
Brilliantly put. Hopefully the next generation changes that.I think when it comes to entertainment, there is a fair deal of entitlement regarding what people want to be exposed to (ironic phrase) regarding real societal conversations that are happening right now. People would rather be upset that something is being "taken away" rather than take a step back and think through why the decision may have been made given what cultural movement is marching right now.
1000 years ago, we thought draining bad blood from the body was a way to cure illness and disease. A perfectly logical assumption given what we knew scientifically at the time. Now with a bird's eye view of society (or even a first person perspective) and multiple view points, as a white man I can look at the lives of minorities or oppressed people and say "This is wrong", strive to do better, and advocate using my place of privilege.
Obviously the second part. What, that everyone has a butt? Or that finding offense in a butt is weird and oddly puritanical? Especially when it's not inherently sexualized?
the pose doesn't even fit tracer. it's a good thing they're removing it
I agree with this. To me she doesnt really look like she is looking at her own ass, i thought she kind of was till you psoted the pic of her in the green. Now it seems like its more of just a look back (like its titled in game none the less lol)
Without sounding too racist, I realize Hanzo is asian and his eyes are small there. But I assure you, he is in the same pose you've seen before, looking over his shoulder. My point is, his pupils don't go down directly towards his ass.If "behind you" means "to your left," maybe.
She seems to look directly into the camera![]()

Someone use paint to diagram where her eyes are pointing!
This guys clearly staring off to the side. Stand up and actually try to look at your ass.
OK, these posts cracked me up xDThat's some Hank Hill butt.
This is over the shoudler![]()
No. That was the reason for the complaint. Blizzard's reasoning is that it makes people uncomfortable. That would be the exact reason they are removing it
Obviously the second part.
17:38Im gonna need a Polygon chart for that butt. Whats the butt to pose ratio?
I would be fascinated to see what the response would be if instead of scaling back the sexualization of its female characters they upped the sexualization of their male characters to match it. I wouldn't be shocked if some of the people upset about this removal would be even more upset about that.
Yes they are?
So what your saying is blizzard needs to add in the helicopter as a winning pose for the dudes. With in game sweatpants. That would cause such an uproar and it would be great.I would be fascinated to see what the response would be if instead of scaling back the sexualization of its female characters they upped the sexualization of their male characters to match it. I wouldn't be shocked if some of the people upset about this removal would be even more upset about that.
The people finding offense in a butt have some serious issues. Everyone has a butt, you have a butt, I have a butt. It's not like the animation was her rubbing it on the screen or grabbing it or anything. Jesus.
The paint lines never lie! This is when you know the accusations of her eyes pointing at her ass are reaching.

c'mon, not enough. she's like watching something distant on the ground (actually she's staring at the camera, whatever)
we must protect the butt
EDIT:
holy shit at this response

Making the butt the focal point tells the viewer that her butt is a major part of her identity.
I think people forget we live in a real world, and that games are influential media that also exists in a real world. Art and the ideas that it conveys are extremely powerful, and it never exists in a vacuum as gamers often like to imagine. When a girl plays as a character, and she's told at the end of the match, "your identity is butt," that affects her. Identity is monumentally important to most humans, and you have no right to tell her that she shouldn't feel affected by it.
I don't mean to sound all huffy, it's just irritating that people act like the human psyche isn't affected by subtlety, when in reality it's affected by subtlety more than anything. Being dismissive of this sort of thing benefits no one.

I don't see how anyone can see the original post as well-reasoned criticism. It's literally just "this character is positive things, and I don't understand how a character in a cutesy pose could fit in with that." It's madonna/whore complex stuff, basically going "a good character can't do anything attractive" and people going "yeah, yeah, that makes sense." That's what's annoying me. It's shit critique. That doesn't mean it's invalid feelings that the person is experiencing, but it's certainly not a well-made point by any means. It's just someone going "I can't accept good characters who might wanna appear attractive." It annoys me that anyone would change their work based on their community because that's ultimately how I am in regards to my own work. So I hate seeing it done. Consider it a personal hangup.
So, when you look around, like, in real life, you can see more than just butt. That guy is staring behind him, but then, there's so much more to see than just where he's looking! If he were to look a little more to the side, say... where Tracer is looking -- it's possible that he could still be looking at something besides his butt.
I verified this myself. Despite my impeccably-shaped man buns that I can barely keep my own eyes off of, it was possible to turn my head to different angles and not look at my butt.

She's not looking 'to the side' she's looking down.
No, she isn't. She's staring below the camera's eyeline. Mercy, Hanzo, Mccree, they're staring at the camera. Even Widow is staring at the camera. Tracer is drawing sight straight down to that ass. I've got like 700 games of Overwatch played, I've seen these poses a LOT.
